SyFy has fans angry with the news that they might be canceling a popular and beloved series. However, there are some hopes that another network might pick it up as the show’s producers are looking for a new home. Here is what you need to know about this possible SyFy change.
SyFy Considering Dropping Popular Show From Schedule
The SyFy Network has often faced criticism for canceling shows before they finish their storylines. This is happening again with one of the cable network’s more popular sci-fi series. The series in question is Resident Alien, and there is reason to believe that Season 3 will be the final one that airs on SyFy.
Resident Alien stars Alan Tudyk as an alien with an unpronounceable birth name who has crash-landed in Patience, Colorado, killed Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, and assumed his identity. His orders are to destroy the human race, but as...

Exclusive: A little over a month after Season 3 of Resident Alien wrapped its run on Syfy, the future of the quirky sci-fi comedy-drama is up in the air. And there is some intrigue over where the series starring Alan Tudyk would continue should it get a fourth season.
I hear there are talks about Resident Alien moving from Syfy to NBCU cable sibling USA Network, which currently doesn’t have scripted originals besides Chucky, which it shares with Syfy. According to sources, a return to Syfy appears unlikely, so USA is Resident Alien‘s only feasible destination within NBCU, whose UCP division produces the adaptation of the comic book by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse.
But a potential Season 4 pickup by USA would come with a major budget reduction, as much as $500,000 an episode, which will be challenging, I hear.
Budgets in basic cable always have been modest. They now...

Resident Alien blends comedy and heartwarming drama like Ted Lasso, with an absurd yet emotional storyline that captivates viewers. Alan Tudyk shines as the quirky alien Henry, offering stellar comedic acting and physical comedy that makes the show a hit. The supporting cast of Resident Alien amplifies Tudyk's performance, while the blend of humor and emotional depth sets this sci-fi series apart.
The sci-fi comedy series Resident Alien has been one of Syfy's biggest hits in the last few years, and there are quite a few debates about why. Viewers liken the highly underrated sci-fi show to 3rd Rock From the Sun, comparing Alan Tudyk's hilarious performance as the quirky alien Henry to John Lithgow's uproarious turn as Dick Solomon. Other comparisons are often made to shows like the early '90s folksy dramedy Northern Exposure (also featuring an out-of-town doctor in a small Colorado setting), but the...

Resident Alien season 3 finally explores Harry's romantic side with the arrival of fellow alien Heather. Heather's knowledge of the Housing Council could delay Harry's eviction and help him save Earth. The introduction of Heather could mean a happy ending for Harry and the potential end of Resident Alien.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Resident Alien episodes 1-4.Throughout the first two seasons of Resident Alien, the show has teased one specific story for Harry that's never come to fruition, but Resident Alien season 3 has finally followed through on it. Despite the show's relatively short run so far, Resident Alien has thoroughly explored various aspects of Harry's life both before and during his time on Earth. Now, both phases of Harry's life have collided, and while it's great news for his character, it could also lead to the end of the show.

The following contains spoilers for Resident Alien Season 3, Episodes 1-3, now streaming on Peacock.
Three seasons in and the Syfy original series Resident Alien -- loosely based on the Dark Horse Comics series by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse -- has upped the narrative ante while deepening its individual character arcs. After revealing more of the Grey Alien threat in Season 3's first two episodes, the series splits up its main ensemble in the third chapter, titled "141 Seconds." This leads to an episode that favors character development over plot progression, though there is a big revelation as the season unveils, at least nominally, what the Grey Aliens are up to on Earth.
With its balancing of tones and characters, "141 Seconds" showcases what Resident Alien does best, even if its core cast is divided for a significant portion of the episode. The first two episodes of Resident Alien Season 3 veered into...

Things are starting to heat up in Resident Alien Season 3, as the release dates of the remaining episodes were officially revealed.
Resident Alien is based on the comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. It chronicles how an alien impersonating a human falls in love with Earth and decides to protect rather than destroy it.
The show's crazy Season 2 finale took things to a whole new level when it teased that a full-scale invasion of a different alien race is in the cards for Season 3.

The search for the next "Suits" has begun! Aaron Korsh's legal drama series gained a whole new lease on life in 2023 thanks to Netflix, becoming the year's most-streamed show and giving USA Network's loyal middle-aged target demographic a reason to fist pump in vindication. The only question now is, what lucky show will follow in its footsteps? Surprisingly, an unlikely candidate has emerged in the form of "Resident Alien," a genre-blending cult favorite that's currently in the process of airing its third season on Syfy.
Anchored by fan-favorite performer and voice actor extraordinaire Alan Tudyk (the man who clucked his way into audiences' hearts as Heihei in "Moana" and wooed his own butt as Clayface in "Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine's Day Special"), "Resident Alien" has managed to climb its way into Netflix's Top 10 in the U.S. According to the streaming viewership aggregator FlixPatrol, it was...

The Resident Alien season 1 finale revealed it was the original Harry Vanderspeigle who killed Dr. Hodges, setting the stage for season 2 in Resident Alien. Harry's guilt about killing the real Harry grows as he interacts with human emotions in Resident Alien, reflected in visions. The season 1 finale also reveals General McCallister works for a mysterious U.S. military agency, not the Men in Black.
The ending of Resident Alien season 1 finally cleared up some season-long mysteries, including who killed beloved town doctor Sam Hodges, but set the stage for more to come in season 2. Resident Alien, based on the comics by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, finds Alan Tudyk's alien crash-landing in a small mountain town called Patience, Colorado during a mission to destroy the earth. With him being temporarily stuck on Earth, he kills and steals the identity of human doctor Harry Vanderspeigle. Throughout season 1, Harry tries to...
