Biography

Jason Crain is an entertainment industry veteran with experience in directing, writing, and producing. He began his career in finance at New Line Cinema and while there he gained experience on over 15 films including SE7EN, BOOGIE NIGHTS, MAGNOLIA, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT and the Academy Award® winning THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY.

After New Line, Jason advanced to the production department at The Film Conexion, an international commercial production company. Jason worked hands on with the company's director and producer on spots for MCDONALD's, SNICKERS, AMERICAN EXPRESS and several other elite clients, gaining experience in both the creative and business side of advertising production.

When Prop 8 became law in California, forbidding same-sex marriage, Jason knew he had to stand up for queer culture and from that directed a revival of THE BOYS IN THE BAND by Mart Crowley. The play garnered awards, stellar reviews, and sold-out houses the entire run. It was at this point when Jason met a producer from ENTOURAGE and asked him if he could shadow directors on the series. He then worked on set for seasons 3 and 4 catching the eye of director Patty Jenkins (MONSTER, WONDER WOMAN.) This relationship would prove to be the most influential partnership of his career.

First serving as Patty's assistant Jason eventually advanced to her Associate Producer on WONDER WOMAN 1984 where he managed all creative aspects on Patty's behalf. His experience on Wonder Woman led him to icon Lynda Carter, who asked Jason to be her director on her first music video, DANNY'S ALL-STAR JOINT.

His directing experience along with Patty's recommendation led Lucasfilm to hire Jason to direct a video announcing Patty's attachment as director on STAR WARS ROGUE SQUADRON. Patty's support of Jason's talent as a director has gone even further by producing his debut feature film. . Jason also serves as Patty's head of motion pictures for her company Wicious Pictures.
