“Everybody looks so great. When I look around this room, I can’t help but wonder, ‘Is Ozempic right for me?’ ” joked Jimmy Kimmel while hosting the 95th Academy Awards. Of course, Kimmel was referencing Hollywood’s sweeping off-label use of the injectable diabetes drug — as well as similar drugs Mounjaro and Wegovy — to rapidly shed pounds by suppressing appetite and slowing digestion.
One unintended side effect of the drug (which can also cause gastrointestinal issues such as vomiting and diarrhea) is “Ozempic face” — a term coined by cosmetic dermatologist Paul Jarrod Frank to describe the gaunt look resulting from sudden volume loss, which some plastic surgeons are combatting with fat transfers (often taken from the hips or abdomen). And now doctors are seeing “Ozempic body,” where quick weight loss results in head-to-toe laxity of skin.

Dozens of housewives have appeared throughout The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and although former Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn could make a future crossover, Christine Chiu from Bling Empire would be a better choice. Christine Quinn shot to fame as one of the Oppenheim Group's standout realtors when Selling Sunset first premiered in 2019, while Christine Chiu and her plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Gabriel Chiu, are two of Bling Empire's breakout stars. Both shows are two of Netflix's most popular series, but they don't hold a candle to Bravo's Real Housewives franchise, especially when it comes to the hustle and bustle of Beverly Hills.
Although Chiu recently returned for Bling Empire season 3, Quinn quit the Oppenheim Group and opened her own brokerage after Selling Sunset season 6. Despite her rough stint with Netflix, Christine Quinn seems ready to switch networks. Quinn is the latest socialite and social media...

Loujain "Lj" Adada made a strong impression among Dubai Bling fans when the show premiered on October 27, but while some viewers love her strong personality and lavish fashion sense, others have criticized the new Netflix star, calling her a gold digger who married for money. Loujain, who was raised in Lebanon and only recently moved to Dubai in 2021, was introduced to Dubai Bling viewers as a hardworking model, television host, and mother.
While viewers were intrigued by Loujain's family troubles and failed attempts at dating, most Dubai Bling fans have been interested in Loujain's previous marriage, especially as Loujain addressed people who have continuously called her a gold digger multiple times. Like fan favorites Christine and Dr. Gabriel Chiu from Bling Empire, Loujain and her late husband, Saudi Arabian businessman Walid Juffali, got married in an extravagant ceremony that cost millions of dollars. What sets Loujain's marriage apart from others...

When asked for one word to describe Asian and Pacific Islander media in 2022, Blade of the 47 Ronin actor Yoshi Sudarso said, “diverse.”
The crowd present at Thursday night’s Asian Pacific Islander Excellence Celebration certainly matched Sudarso’s words. Chinese American reality television stars rubbed elbows with Polynesian American musicians and Southeast Asian American silver screen actors at Casita Hollywood, where The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix and Gold House teamed up for a celebration of the Api community’s 2022 successes.
“If you think about the way Hollywood looked at our culture 20 years ago, we were deemed culturally irrelevant,” said Hasan Minhaj. “Now, we’re making some of the most relevant, poignant, cutting-edge work.”
From Minhaj’s perspective, Everything Everywhere All At Once (from A24) and Mo are just two of those impactful works. Love Is Blind star Deepti Vemapti and Boo, Bitch actress Aparna Brielle...

Netflix’s “Bling Empire” doesn’t just highlight the lavish lifestyles of wealthy Asian American Angelenos, it also showcases numerous Asian customs and traditions.
“It was a collaborative effort where we shared a lot [of knowledge] with the crew,” producer and cast member Kelly Mi Li told TheWrap of incorporating the cultural elements into the show. “We had a good amount of Asian Americans on the crew working, which helped a lot.”
Major Asian holidays and cultural events, including Chinese New Year and a 100-Day party, serve as backdrops for the show’s most dramatic moments.
TheWrap breaks down all of the Asian customs from “Bling Empire” below:

When I first learned Netflix was working on a reality TV show that follows a group of wealthy Asian and American friends around Los Angeles, à la Crazy Rich Asians, I was intrigued. Listen, I love reality TV. I am an avid Real Housewives watcher and always will be, but Bling Empire just wasn't it for me. The issue wasn't entirely rooted in the fact that I didn't find anyone from the cast likable, but mainly, I just don't think this is the energy we need coming into 2021.
If we learned anything about television in 2020, it's that people want shows with substance.
The show stars Kane Lim, the son of a Singaporean billionaire; Christine Alexandra Chiu, the founder of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery with her husband, Dr. Gabriel Chiu; fashion influencer Jaime Xie; "superfamous DJ" Kim Lee; model Kevin Kreider; "denim empire" heiress Cherie Chan; socialite Anna Shay; producer Kelly Mi Li...
