She won over the League of Legends fan base as the voice actor for Jinx in 2021's Arcane, and in 2024, she did the same with the Fallout franchise. The balance between comedy and drama can be hard to get right, but Sweetpea's exciting cast of characters helps bring a light-hearted feel to the British drama, while Ella Purnell's Rhiannon Lewis brings some sinister vibes. Despite developing murderous tendencies, Rhiannon maintains her endearing traits, creating a twistedly complicated protagonist. However, these qualities are what makes Sweetpea's reviews so good and the show's excellent soundtrack compliments the action and humorous moments perfectly.

Sweetpea's premiere provided the perfect blend of comedy and drama, which culminated in Rhiannon killing her first victim after plenty of build-up. Starz's new limited series centers around Rhiannon Lewis, a seemingly normal and innocent girl whose life quickly unravels, resulting in her becoming a killer. The series is led by Ella Purnell, who has been part of some excellent projects over the past few years and once again delivers a thrilling performance. Her involvement in Prime Video's Fallout is perhaps her biggest role to date, yet Purnell's Sweetpea role is the complete opposite of Fallout's Lucy.

While both characters start out as kind, good-hearted people, Rhiannon doesn't manage to maintain her soft nature. Instead, Sweetpea's cast of interesting characters pushes her further and further down a dark path, leading to her taking her frustrations out on a complete stranger.

Sky’s Sweetpea is a terrific show to add to your Halloween list this year. The dark comedy tells the story of Rhiannon Lewis, a woman who changes drastically after the sudden death of her father. Rhiannon’s always thought herself to be invisible. This terrible feeling sets in first because she’s been bullied from the ages of 12-16, so much so that she starts to pull her hair out from stress and anxiety. Over the years, even as an adult, she struggles to share her opinions with her co-workers or to be able to assert herself. Do you know how the story of a lot of male serial killers begins with one small trigger that messes everything up? Rhiannon’s story runs along similar lines. Soon after her dad dies, Rhiannon’s dog gets run over by a car too. Depressed and lonely, she cries by the canal...
