Bleach fans are already head over heels for Tite Kubo’s genius. But ever since Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War began airing, the appreciation for the mangaka has gone through the roof. Of course, Studio Pierrot’s accurate adaptation of the final saga of the manga has definitely helped.
Bleach cannot be considered a dark anime generally. Its effort to belong to the Shonen genre has rendered it filled with action, suspense, and comedy, but not mind-bending qualities. Yet, one character in the series is enough to upend that notion.

Disney movies are synonymous with warmth, comfort, love, and heartfelt lessons to be learned by all. Geared towards a younger audience, these movies have come to be adored by older generations, too, especially those who grew up with some of these titles. However, there is a clear inclination toward certain titles that have become iconic in a way, like The Lion King or Toy Story. Fortunately, those who want to go beyond the usual movies have a lot to choose from.
There are plenty of Disney movies that have flown under the radar due to lower ratings or even because they just had a release date that didn't let the movie shine. Both live-action and animations, these titles had wonderful visual styles, compelling plot lines, and amazing characters that deserve a second watch and due appreciation. These underrated Disney movies are the hidden gems of the animation studio's oeuvre.

The heat is on in this LA-set neo noir. It burns through the high colour palette of the cinematography by Gemma Doll-Grossman, from its hot LA days to neon-lit nights. It also smoulders through the central performance of Sofia Yepes - who co-wrote the script with director Francisco Ordoñez - so that you never quite know when her emotions are going to combust.
Yepes plays Raquel, an ex-marine with strong belief in karma. An aspiring hip hop producer, she spends her off-hours hustling her demos round studios with her mate Efraim (Rene Rosado) but their main source of income comes from working for local drug lord Uly (Eddie Martinez). Raquel is not just in deep with Uly’s organisation as she helps launder cash from his business, she’s also dating his sister Giselle (Ser Anzoategui).
Ordoñez keeps us with Raquel from the start, adding kinetic energy by occasionally inserting quick jump cuts.

When an action anime series like Bleach has a massive cast of characters, there simply isn't enough room for every single character to show the full extent of their powers and skills. Protagonists like Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida will get every chance to demonstrate their best techniques many times, while side characters make do with just one or two fights' worth of material. And even then, those characters may be killed or interrupted before they can show their full powers.
Such a weak impression may cause viewers to underestimate certain characters, and no one can blame Bleach fans for that. It's easy to forget how powerful a character is when they're denied an opportunity to show what they're truly capable of, and fans won't remember brief lines of dialogue where characters explain what their full power is supposed to be like. Such is the case in every phase of Bleach's story,...

Grimes is a self-taught, self-produced artist who released her first album on a small indie label more than a decade ago. Aespa is a girl group formed during the pandemic by one of K-pop’s leading labels, composed of four extremely hardworking women — Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning — who sing, dance, and have shot to superstardom over the past three years.
The pairing of the two artists might seem random, but consider this: Grimes’ love of K-pop goes back more than a decade, and she’s extremely interested in new technologies — including Elf.

Warning: Contains spoilers for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode #22.
This article contains discussions of transphobia
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode #22 has just aired, and it censored a controversial moment in its English release. Episode #22, “Marching Out the Zombies”, started the central conflict with the Sternritter Giselle Gewelle, and in a surprising turn of events, Yumichika revealed that Giselle, despite presenting as female, was assigned male at birth. Considering that Giselle is referred to as female both in-universe and out, the sudden reveal sparked a tremendous amount of discourse surrounding Giselle’s gender and sexual identity, and it’s something that persists today, years after it first happened in the manga.
The reveal of Giselle’s gender identity was a major surprise in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and the anime censored a controversial moment within it in an odd way. In both the anime and the corresponding manga chapter, Yumichika’s...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for all of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Part 2.] Mickey (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is ready to leave one case behind him (especially considering how messy it got with Lana Parrilla‘s Lisa), only for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 to end with a tragic surprise at the morgue. When Mickey calls Izzy (Jazz Raycole) to check on the car that Alex Grant (Michael A. Goorjian) was driving — after nearly getting run over by one — she informs him of a new client, Julian Lacosse, being held at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station. He’s being charged with murder and said he can pay Mickey’s fee, no problem. Julian tells him that a friend, Giselle Dallinger, recommended him. Mickey doesn’t recognize that name, but Julian insists he has to know her, and she said if he was ever in trouble, to call him because he’s the best lawyer in town. Now, Giselle is dead,...

The Fast X fight between Letty and Cipher was filmed using practical effects, resulting in a well-choreographed hand-to-hand combat sequence full of emotions. Cipher's decision to team up with Dom and "La Familia" was out of necessity, but spending time with Letty after escaping prison could lead to her becoming a member of the family. Cipher's unexplored history with Giselle and her association with Letty could help in mellowing down the former villain and potentially setting up a redemption arc or even a Cipher spin-off.
A new Fast X behind-the-scenes video shows how Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher's (Charlize Theron) intense fight scene was filmed. Dom and his "La Familia" returned on the big screen in 2023 for the tenth main installment of The Fast Saga. In a major twist, however, instead of butting heads again with Cipher, the primary villain of the franchise for several recent entries, Letty had to team up with her.

Barbie has become a worldwide sensation in 2023. The film is just the latest in a long line of successful toy-based movies, along with G.I. Joe, Transformers and The Lego Movie. However, Barbie's story has a lot in common with a beloved fantasy musical. Barbie has been a record hit among fans of comedy and the original toy alike, drawing in millions of fans to watch how Margot Robbie's spin on the character interacts with the real world.
The idea behind the Barbie movie has pleased viewers, but it's far from the first film to explore the concept of a fantasy world clashing with the reality audiences live in. 2007's Enchanted, starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and Susan Sarandon flipped the fantasy princess genre on its head in much the same way as Barbie. Anticipation for the Disney Plus film Disenchanted was high because of the love for Enchanted, and Gabriella Baldacchino plays an important role in the sequel. While Disenchanted was delayed due to script disagreements, and was released 15 whole years after Enchanted arrived in movie theaters, Enchanted stars Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey were able to find time in their schedules to return as Giselle and Robert, respectively. Other actors like Timothy Spall, who played Nathaniel in Enchanted, did not reprise their roles in Disenchanted. With so many years between the two films, it is no surprise that not every actor returned for the sequel.
While Enchanted was a box office hit and received rave reviews for its story and performances, Disenchanted ended up not being worth the wait. There's no doubt that the changing of directors and screenplays affected the movie, and instead of receiving a theatrical release, it was released straight to streaming.

Bleach is a shonen action anime with a robust combat system. While many Bleach heroes and villains use swords, the combat system is far more diverse than that once both sides start using their unusual spiritual abilities. This includes not just shikai and bankai from the Soul Reapers, but also Hollow abilities and Quincy techniques from the villains' side.
