Ivan Panev(I)

Ivan Panev was born in 1967 in the city of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. Since 1992, he has been living and working in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia, as a professional film and theatre actor and director. He is well-known to the general public for his numerous roles in movies and TV films, as well as for his participation in Bulgarian television series. His career continues with appearances on the stage of the Theater of Satire and the National Music Theater in Sofia. Ivan Panev is a part-time professor at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts where he also defended a doctorate in the field of musical cinema. He is the director and screenwriter of the film "Foreigner" (2007, 30 min), his graduation thesis. In 2009, he made his professional debut with the television film "The Brother of the Snail" (54 min.,BNT 2009), which was selected in the official program of the "Prix Europa" festival, Berlin, October 2009. The film also won an award for directorial debut at the "Korona Karpat" festival, held in Truskavets, Ukraine from January 10 to 15, 2010. "The Brother of the Snail" received 6 nominations and 3 awards of the Bulgarian Film Academy in 2010.
