Although superhero serials and TV shows had been around for decades prior, Richard Donner’s 1978 version of Superman marked the first major, studio-funded DC feature film in Hollywood. The film’s commercial and critical success led to Richard Lester’s acclaimed follow-up, Superman II, solidifying the late great Christopher Reeve as a cinematic symbol of truth, justice, and hope. Over 25 years later, the events of the ridiculous follow-ups, Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, were bypassed by Bryan Singer to accommodate Superman Returns, arguably ranking among the finest cinematic showcases for Clark Kent to prove his protective might. Sure, the movie isn’t as fun-filled or enjoyable as a children’s superhero outing should be, but, as far as restoring the luster into Superman’s cape and proving the comic book hero’s box office viability, Superman Returns did its job. At least, that’s how most critics and general moviegoers felt.

There have been many complex, hilarious, and violent characters in the X-Men movie franchise over the years, and some rank higher than the rest. Fox's time with the X-Men has ended. During the two decades of Fox X-Men movies, the studio managed to bring a decent chunk of characters from Marvel Comics to live-action. That was aided by the timeline of the X-Men movies. Hugh Jackman and the original X-Men cast led a trilogy before a new generation took over in the younger X-Men movie timeline.
The mainline X-Men movies were not the only ones to be released, as a number of spinoffs also added new characters to the franchise. Based on the history of the X-Men movie franchise, there are quite a few interesting characters who sit among the best in the live-action movies. That also includes Deadpool & Wolverine, the first MCU mutant movie that will lead to future Marvel entries,...

The X-Men movies brought some of Marvel’s most powerful mutants from the comic book pages to the screen. For more than 20 years, the X-Men had their own movie franchise at Fox. Starting with X-Men (2000), Marvel’s mutants were at the center of 13 films. Fox's X-Men movie universe includes seven actual X-Men movies, three Wolverine films, two Deadpool movies, and The new Mutants.
For this list, only what was shown in the movies will be considered. The X-Men comics have their own power levels and ranking system, yet those were never properly translated to the big screen. For example, neither Storm nor Emma Frost was ever as powerful in the films as they are in the comics. With that established, here are the 10 most powerful mutants in X-Men movies.

A brand new synopsis for The New Mutants has made its way online. We recently got a good look at the upcoming X-Men spin-off during Comic-Con@Home, with the opening scene and a new trailer revealed. Now, Disney's 20th Century Studios has revealed a very thorough synopsis that confirms a major link between Anya Taylor-Joy's character Magik, and a famous Mutant who has appeared on-screen multiple times.
The synopsis, which is quite detailed and rather lengthy, recently appeared on the movie's official website. It largely focuses on setting up the universe of director Josh Boone's horror-themed X-Men spin-off. But it also includes one important confirmation, in that, Magik is indeed related to Colossus. Which also directly ties The New Mutants into the world of Deadpool. The synopsis reads as follows.

The New Mutants has taken so long in coming out that you can hardly call it new anymore, seeing as it was shot in 2017, but at long last it’s on the verge of arriving. Last weekend, 20th Century Studios revealed a thrilling trailer and the opening minutes of the superhero flick that’ll take things in more of a psychological horror direction. Now, this extended synopsis has been released which clarifies more about the plot, as well as confirming a major X-Men connection.

The Comic-Con@Home panel for Marvel's Helstrom was held today. Showrunner Paul Zbyszewski, along with cast members Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon, Elizabeth Marvel, Robert Wisdom, Ariana Guerra, June Carryl, and Alain Uy, all showed up for this afternoon's panel moderated by Laura Prudom. They provided a pretty intense sneak-peek at the upcoming Hulu series and talked about bringing the terror-filled comic to life as the streaming platform's next horror series.
Marvel's Helstrom follows the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon) have a complicated dynamic, as they track down the worst of humanity - each with their own attitude and skills. Even with our teases from the panel today, the show is still very much a mystery, though it looks very promising. The Marvel Studios series is one of the last to appear outside of the Disney+ streaming service.

Stan Lee passed away in mid-November of last year, but his legacy lives on up on the big screen with every new Marvel movie released. Plus, let's not forget the man's killer cameos which have continued posthumously in films such as Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. But it looks like Lee will not have a cameo in director Simon Kinberg's upcoming X-men movie Dark Phoenix. That said, Kinberg did recently let us all know that there will be a tribute to Lee (and hopefully Jack Kirby as well) in the film.
Simon Kinberg specifically says this about Stan Lee.
"We don't have a cameo. I'd rather say that than then keep it mysterious, out of respect for Stan. We do have some tribute to him, and it's something that obviously we weren't thinking about when we were making the movie because he was still very much alive.

Odd as it may sound, The Flash may very well now be the flagship show in the Arrowverse. When you think about it, the series’ ascension to that spot makes sense, especially when you factor in how it’s consistently The CW’s top rated show. Plus, it often charts new course for the DC TV landscape as a whole, which I’ll discuss in just a bit.
In the meantime, though, I’m going to shower the next leg in the Scarlet Speedster’s journey with much praise after being left jaded by what I thought was a parabolic fourth season. Those familiar with this site may remember how I didn’t exactly care for how our most recent trips to Central City became downright farcical at times, whereas the premiere I’ve just had the honor of screening found the proper balance achieved in earlier seasons.

Colossus fans were not terribly pleased with the character’s depiction in X-Men 2 and 3, but that all changed when the metal mutant powerhouse showed up as a supporting player in Deadpool. Replacing Daniel Cudmore in the part, Stefan Kapicic acted out Colossus’ role via motion capture, but he still managed to portray a much more comic faithful interpretation of Peter Rasputin.
Though Colossus has already been confirmed for Deadpool 2, Kapicic would actually like to bring his take on the Russian mutant to the small screen at some point, too. During an interview with ComicBook.com, the actor declared his love for FX’s mind-bending TV series, Legion:
It gets so clever, it gets so specific. The way it’s directed, the way the acting is there. For example, if you ask me what I would...

So, on The Flash, there have been a couple of theories of the true identity of Savitar, and the top two candidates are Eddie Thawne or Wally west. The only time we have seen Savitar without armor on was from behind, and he was played by Daniel Cudmore (the actor that played Colossus in the X-Men movies, not the Deadpool voice-over). However, this means nothing, as we have already seen the ability for a speedster to change his appearance using future tech. Being trapped in the speedforce allows one to travel through time and see visions of everything at once.
I do not think it is Wally West, but I could see it happening after Wally's uniform was torn off at the end of yesterdays episode. However there are some quotes and another piece of evidence that actually now make me believe he is Eddie Thawne, the hero of Season...

The film stars Robin Dunne (Syfy's Sanctuary), Dan Payne (Star Trek Beyond), Daniel Cudmore (X-Men: Days of Future Past), and Briana Buckmaster (The CW's Supernatural). When estranged brothers Adam and Clint attempt to reconnect over a week-long hunting trip in remote British Columbia, they find the tables turned by a mysterious presence lurking in the...

Tagline: "There's no escape from this." A few details are emerging for Tim J. Brown's (The Cradle) Devil in the Dark. This title will be launching through Video-on-demand platforms in early March. The film stars: Robin Dunne (Sanctuary), Dan Payne (Star Trek: Beyond), Daniel Cudmore and Briana Buckmaster. In the story, brothers Adam and Clint discover a supernatural power, on a long distance hunting trip. Finally, the film's official artwork is here, with more details to follow. The film's artwork looks very Danny Darko-esque. A large antlered entity looms over a small child, with the forest blanketed in fog. It is obvious that the brother's childhoods are influencing the present, with very little light in the darkness. Indie horror fans will not have to wait long to see this title. Devil in the Dark launches on March 7th, 2017. As well, a trailer is expected to roll this way shortly...

Paramount's Teenage Mutnant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows had no trouble topping the box office last weekend with $35.2 million, Although, that total was less than half of what 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opened with in 2014, when it debuted to the tune of $65.5 million. Tmnt 2's reign will most likely end early, going up against three newcomers, Universal's Warcraft, Lionsgate's Now You See Me 2 and Warner Bros.' The Conjuring 2. If our projections are correct, then Warcraft should have no trouble coming out on top this weekend.
While exact theater counts have not been given yet, Box Office Mojo reports that Warcraft is expected to debut in an estimated 3,400 theaters, while The Conjuring 2 is expected to open in approximately 3,100 theaters and Now You See Me 2 is set to debut in 3,000 theaters. Though metal mutant, Colossus, had appeared in previous X-Men movies, fans were not that pleased with the interpretation of the character (as played by Daniel Cudmore) and hoped to see a more comic-accurate take in Tim Miller’s Deadpool.
Thankfully, that’s exactly what they got, as the all-cgi character looked and sounded a lot more like he should have, and almost stole the show from Wade Wilson.
Now, artist Alexander Lozano has posted some early Colossus concept designs to his Facebook page, and it turns out the titanium tough guy was going to look quite a bit different at one point. The hood is probably the most radical departure from his final look, and Lozano explains the logic behind that below:

Earlier this year, Nickelodeon fans lost their minds when the network announced plans for Legends of The Hidden Temple: The Movie, based on the iconic 90s game show. Now, it has been announced that a key figure in the original series is returning! Yes, Kirk Fogg will be back, and plays a very substantial role in the story.
Legends of The Hidden Temple: The Movie will be an action-adventure inspired by the series of the same name. On the 90s show, Kirk Fogg served as the host and guide for the contestants. His new role in the movie will pay direct homage to his former duties.
Kirk Fogg joins a previously announced cast that also includes Isabela Moner, former X-Men star Daniel Cudmore, Jet Jurgensmeyer, Colin Critchley and Ioan Sebastian Tirlui. This all-new movie is set to hit Nickelodeon in fall 2016. Though, an official premiere date has not been announced.

Deadpool is currently in theaters, enjoying its second weekend of release. And it will likely be number one at the box office yet again. One of the superhero adventure's most popular characters is Colossus, who originally appeared in the X-Men movies. Wired has a new VFX video break down, which shows just how this metal monstrosity was rebooted for the big screen.
Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic is the man credited for playing Colossus. But as it turns out, it took four other actors to fully create this unique Marvel mutant. In the video embedded below, we learn that Greg Lasalle of VFX company Digital Domain was one of the men who helped establish Colossus for this 20th Century Fox outing. He contributed to the facial models for the superhero born Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin. Stefan Kapicic is responsible for providing the character's voice, and did a portion of the physical motion-capture performance.

As anyone who’s stayed right to the end of the Deadpool movie will know, Cable will be joining up with Ryan Reynolds’ Merc With The Mouth for his already-in-development sequel. Cable could be played by anyone from Mel Gibson to Keira Knightly (she does have great range), according to Deadpool himself.
“But who the heck is this guy?” you might be thinking, or maybe “Should I be excited or worried about this?” Well, I’d wager that you should be very, very hyped to see Cable on the big screen. He’s a hugely dark and mysterious character, and his inclusion will ensure that Deadpool 2 doesn’t retread any of the same ground as its predecessor.
Here are ten reasons Cable will be an awesome addition to the Deadpool franchise…

Although Deadpool wasn’t Piotr Rasputin's, a.k.a. Colossus, first movie appearance, it was unquestionably his most important. Not only did the steel-skinned mutant get to have meaningful dialogue (and with a Russian accent, finally), but he looked the closest he’s ever been to his comic book counterpart. Although Deadpool had a smaller budget compared to most superhero movies, they were able to create a great-looking Colossus, and now there’s a video showing how that was accomplished. In this VFX breakdown from Wired, they go over the steps taken by effects studio Digital Domain to bring Deadpool ’s Colossus to life, and it was quite complicated. While X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past had Daniel Cudmore playing Colossus, Deadpool’s version of the character took five actors to create. That’s right, ...

Tim Miller.s Deadpool is definitely set within the universe created by the larger X-Men franchise, but it doesn.t exactly pay a ton of attention to continuity. The version of Colossus that.s featured is entirely different than the one played by Daniel Cudmore in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past; and despite being played by the same actor (Ryan Reynolds), the Wade Wilson character is entirely different than the one featured in the 1980s-set X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Fans may question this decision, but writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have some pretty solid excuses for it: their desire to fix mistakes of the franchise.s past, and create a film entirely representative of its insane titular lead. I had the pleasure of chatting with Reese and Wernick about all things Deadpool late last week, and it was right at the top...

Imagine, if you will, that all of the movie superheroes represent students in a class. The Marvel heroes represent that kid who has it all. You know who I'm talking about. The most popular kid in school who is also the quarterback of the state-champion football team, has a 4.0 Gpa, dates the hottest cheerleader, and maybe he even volunteers at the hospital to boot. Basically, he's the kid you want to hate because he has it all, and yet you just can't, because he's so awesome. Warner Bros.' DC Comics heroes represent something like the brooding valedictorian, incredibly focused but super-serious, almost to a fault. 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise, naturally, would represent the class outsider, which brings us to Deadpool. Sure, Deadpool is part of the X-Men franchise, and he's just as much of an outsider as the rest of them, but he's so much more than that.

Earlier today, we learned that a new voice actor had been found for Colossus in Deadpool, and now we actually get to hear him speak for the first time in a brand new TV spot for the highly anticipated movie.
Considering the fact that he was practically a mute when Daniel Cudmore played him during glorified cameo appearances in the X-Men movies, the fact that he finally has a Russian accent should come as a huge relief to fans annoyed at the lack of comic book faithfulness Bryan Singer has shown when it comes to this character over the years.

We know that 20th Century Fox's Deadpool has been confirmed as part of the studio's X-Men franchise, but we still haven't gotten any indication on whether or not the Merc With the Mouth will be included in future X-Men movies. The only connection to that franchise is through the mutant Colossus, who we reported last year will be portrayed by Andre Tricoteux. With just a few months left until the February 12, 2016 release date, Entertainment Weekly reports that a last-minute casting change has taken place, with Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic stepping in to play Colossus. We also have a new TV spot where Colossus speaks for the first time, along with two new photos.

In just a few short months, 20th Century Fox will release the long-awaited Deadpool, which star Ryan Reynolds had been trying to get off the ground for several years. The buzz swirling around this superhero movie is already quite high, after the first trailer debuted at San Diego Comic Con this summer. While it isn't known when we'll see the next footage from this comic book adaptation, Ryan Reynolds sent out a new photo on his verified Twitter account, showing the actor in his full Deadpool costume, trick-or-treating with a group of young X-Men mutants on Halloween. Here's what the actor had to say on his Twitter page yesterday.

Things still aren't clear regarding how Tim Miller's "Deadpool" film adaptation will fit into the larger "X-Men" screen universe, though one element within the film that's definitely crossing over is the character of Colossus.
Played by Daniel Cudmore in the previous "X-Men" films, Andre Tricoteux now takes on the part for this film and tells Tech Times his part is more than just a simple cameo:
"I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is. I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus had been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him."

Ever since the first Deadpool trailer debuted at Comic Con this summer, the anticipation has grown at an incredible rate for this superhero adventure, set to hit theaters February 12, 2016. Aside from the Merc With the Mouth, fans will also be introduced to colorful characters such as Ajax (Ed Skrein, Angel Dust (Gina Carano), Weasel (T.J. One of the most intriguing characters, though, is Colossus, with Andre Tricoteux replacing Daniel Cudmore, who portrayed him in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
