While filming After Dusk, he cut his hand eating an apple with a throwing knife which resulted in him slicing his left middle finger open and almost cutting his artery. He went on to film the rest of the night and then going on to get eight stitches a day later which he refers to as his "Leo moment" similar to what Leonardo DiCaprio experienced on Django.

After cutting his finger during filming of After Dusk, he went on to film God of Dreams two days later. He informed the director of the film, Jurian Isabelle about the injury and the bandage got worked into his character Prophet Major's wardrobe it can be seen throughout the film with a blue bandage on his left middle finger. Only a couple days in of filming, he punctured his finger again, this time with an ink pen resulting in "a series of bad luck" he would call it that called for him to redress and tend to his stab wound furthermore. The following month he took his own stitches with a pair of tweezers and scissors.
