Horror films and sorority houses are a combination that go back at least as far as 1957’s Blood of Dracula and 1961’s Werewolf in a Girls’ Dormitory, the 70s gave us the classic original versions of Black Christmas and Suspiria, along with the memorable made for TV flick The Initiation of Sarah.

But it was the slasher boom of the 80s that it blossomed with films like Sorority House Massacre, The House on Sorority Row and The Initiation. Since then we’ve had multiple remakes of Black Christmas and House on Sorority Row as well as new films such as Die Die Delta Pi, Slotherhouse and now Night of the Dead Sorority Babes.

Mutilator 2, a meta sequel to the 1984 cult classic slasher The Mutilator, has been picked up for worldwide distribution by Cardinal Xd.

“The fully signed copy of our distribution agreement just arrived” Buddy Cooper, writer-director of both Mutilator films, shared on Instagram. “I will begin deliveries tomorrow and they will begin advertising soon. I don’t know the plan, but they want to get it out there so it should be appearing soon.”

The Mutilator actors Ruth Martinez and Bill Hitchcock return to star as themselves alongside Terry Kiser (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey At Night).

Eva Hamilton, Marco Reese Maldonado, Mark Francis, Loren Swan, Dan Grogan, Chaney Morrow, Jesse Contente, Eric Six, Cody Renee Cameron, Ruthie Martinez, Wyatt Easterling, Carl J. Mutilator 2, writer/director Buddy Cooper’s long-awaited follow-up to his 1984 slasher The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), is ready to make its way out into the world. The movie even screened at Joe Bob Briggs’ latest drive-in Jamboree event back in October, and received an “audience favorite” award there. And yet it still hasn’t secured a distribution deal. Cooper confirmed this on Facebook, where he wrote, “We are still searching for distribution. It might help if a few fans asked their favorite streaming service or theater when they would be showing Mutilator 2. If enough people show an interest, I feel like a distributor would be willing to help get it out to everyone.“

Much like New Nightmare or the Town That Dreaded Sundown update, Mutilator 2 is set in a world where the first film was just a movie. But now someone is bringing the slashing of The Mutilator to life.

Thirty-eight years after gifting the world a really cool slasher called The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), writer/director Buddy Cooper has finally gotten around to making a sequel to the film… and over the weekend, he took to social media to unveil the first official poster for Mutilator 2! You can take a look at the poster at the bottom of this article.

Cooper notes that “the woman bound to the nasty looking piling” on the Mutilator 2 poster is Olivia, played by Eva Hamilton of Death Kiss. Producer Jeff Seemann added that “the ocean water was in the 40s when Eva stepped into it for this scene.” So it definitely sounds like it’s a moment worth promoting on the poster.
