Qasim Khan(I)

Qasim is an acclaimed actor who has played major roles across Canada. He starred as Eric Glass in The Inheritance Parts 1 & 2 for which he won the Toronto Theatre Award for Outstanding Lead Performance, the title role in Hamlet (Canadian Stage), and as Tesman in Hedda Gabler, for which he was nominated for another Toronto Theatre Award (Coal Mine Theatre). Prior to that, he starred as Christy in The Playboy of the Western World (Shaw Festival), as well as Charlie The Miser, Atreyu in The Neverending Story, Adam in Paradise Lost, Antipholus of Ephesus in The Comedy of Errors, The Merchant in Timon of Athens, Bishop of Winchester in Henry VIII, Ratcliffe in Richard III, as well as The Crucible, The Madwoman of Chaillot, among others (Stratford Festival). He also played Parolles in All's Well That Ends Well, Horatio in Hamlet, and Das Ding (Canadian Stage). He has also appeared in Alligator Pie, The Crucible, The Royal Comedians, Dirt (Soulpepper); Mr. Phillips in Anne of Green Gables, The White Knight in Alice Through The Looking Glass (Charlottetown Festival); Beneath the Banyan Tree (Theatre Direct); A Craigslist Cantata (Musical Stage Co.); and he originated the role of Zaya in Acha Bacha (Theatre Passe Muraille/Buddies).
His film and TV work includes roles on: Underbelly, The Riftworld Chronicles, Saving Hope, Nikita, Dan For Mayor, Little Mosque, and the recent Disney feature Sneakerella. He appears in the Stratford films of Richard III, The Miser, Timon of Athens, and Henry VIII, and hosted The Early Modern Cooking Show. His voice can be heard on Blues Clues and You, Stillwater School for Mosquitos, The Hooves Belonged To The Deer, and Feedback.
