Jeremy Renner Recalls the 'Tiny But Monumental' Mistake That Caused His Near-Fatal Snowplow Accident

On New Year’s Day 2023, two-time Oscar-nominee Jeremy Renner’s life changed when he broke more than 30 bones and suffered blunt chest trauma in a terrible snowplow accident. Renner, in a new piece for The Times, is opening up about the accident that nearly claimed his life two years ago. Renner said one “tiny” mistake led to the accident and almost cost him his life.

Renner said that he failed to do one thing that the owner’s manual for the snowplow stated. “‘Before exiting the driver’s cab! - Apply parking brake,’ the manual says. But I didn’t engage the parking brake or disengage the steel tracks. In that moment - an innocent, critical life-changing moment - that tiny but monumental slip of the mind would change the course of my life forever,” Renner wrote.

Mayor of Kingstown: Season Four; Three Join Taylor Sheridan Series on Paramount+
Mayor of Kingstown has added three big names to its cast for its fourth season. According to Deadline, Edie Falco, Lennie James, and Laura Benanti are joining the Taylor Sheridan series, which Paramount+ renewed in December.

The series follows a family of power brokers in Detroit, starring Jeremy Renner, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Michael Beach.

The following was revealed about the roles the new additions will play:

“Falco will play the series regular role of Nina Hobbs, Anchor Bay’s new prison warden. In a season-long arc, James will play Frank Moses, a legendary gangster respected in the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan, and beyond. Now that Yellowstone season 5 has concluded, fans are anxiously awaiting what's next from the Taylor Sheridan universe. Thankfully, there's a new season of 1923 coming to Paramount+ in February 2025, but there are also a number of Sheridan-produced series coming down the pipeline, including the highly anticipated new season of the Jeremy Renner crime drama Mayor Kingstown.

Back in December 2024, Paramount+ announced that Mayor of Kingstown was renewed for season 4 with Renner returning to reprise his role as Mike McLusky. “Mayor of Kingstown” Season 4 has added four new cast members.

Edie Falco, Lennie James, and Laura Benanti are all set to star alongside Jeremy Renner in the Paramount+ drama’s upcoming fourth season.

Falco will play Nina Hobbs, Anchor Bay’s new prison warden. James will play Frank Moses, described as “a legendary gangster respected in the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan, and well beyond.” Benanti will play Cindy Stephens, a new correctional officer recruited in Kingstown.

Falco is repped by CAA and Entertainment 360. James is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Independent Talent Group. Benanti is repped by The Gersh Agency, Untitled Entertainment and Schreck Rose.

Along with Renner, the cast also includes Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Taylor Handley, Derek Webster, Nichole Galicia and more.
