This year kicked off with the theatrical release of Blumhouse’s Night Swim last week, and the new releases are going to start picking up a bit here in the second full week of the new year.

You’ll find nothing new in theaters this week, but plenty of horror to watch at home.

A handful of familiar faces in the world of indie horror have joined forces for the upcoming Bunker Heights, a genre-bending film that’s currently in the post-production stage.

“Bunker Heights is a genre-bending farce that delves into the complexities of a troubled city facing a catastrophic crisis,” an official statement previews. “Blending elements of crime, horror, and dark comedy, the film offers a gripping narrative that follows the lives of its citizens as they navigate the looming threat that jeopardizes their very existence.”

Scout Taylor-Compton is back in January with They Turned Us into Killers, a brand new revenge-horror movie from Gravitas Ventures. The film is coming to VOD outlets on January 9, 2024.

Scout Taylor-Compton stars alongside horror icons Kane Hodder and Michael Berryman, as well as Taryn Manning, Brian Anthony Wilson, Lauren Francesca, Bryce Draper, Brandon Irons, Maritza Brikisak, and Xander Goldman.

In the film, “A girl named Karma is drugged and assaulted by her boyfriend, Bj, which leads to her tragically committing suicide. Prior to this devastating event, she writes a letter to her best friend, Star, detailing the horrific events that unfolded that fateful night.

“Determined to seek revenge against those responsible, Star hunts down Bj and his brothers, and begins to torture them, while reading to them Karma’s suicide letter, before taking each of their lives.”

Macabre Mountain will be playing Free at the famous Pixy theater in Edinburgh, In on Saturday November 18th at 2pm and 7:30 pm Xander Goldman’s other film, Massacre Academy, will show at approximately 4:15pm. Tickets all 100% Free to each show.

Xander Goldman will be appearing as a celebrity guest at the NJ Horror Con at the Edison Convention Center in Edison, New Jersey on August 18, 19, and 20th.

He will be promoting his soon to be released film “Macabre Mountain” which he starred in and produced.

Synopsis:

“Macabre Mountain follows a troubled law enforcement agent who discovers more than he ever imagined and his world gets turned upside down in West Virginia.”

Xander has been in many television programs including Master Mind of Murder, Death Walker, Expedition Unknown, and Meet Marry Murder.

He has also shared scenes in well known movies with Jason Mamoa and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in Sweet Girl; Mary Steenbergen, Kristen Stewart, and Dan Levy in Happiest Season; and Viola Davis in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Xander’s latest work was playing a detective on American Rust 2 which he also worked as a stand in for Mark Menchaca, who played Russ Langmore.

Macabre Mountain welcomes genre actor, Denny Nolan who will be playing the role of Mayor Carl in this upcoming horror movie. Denny Nolan is well known for an array of roles including his work on Death Count, Night of the Tommyknockers, and Bridge of the Doomed.
