Ricardo Cordero is an accomplished American actor, filmmaker, and entrepreneur. He is a veteran stage and film actor with decades of experience, known for Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, Inside Llewyn Davis, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Tell Tale-Heart, The Eyes Have it" Winner of the 2007 Action on Film International film festival and many more.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Puerto Rican parents. His mother was a hospital billing specialist, and his father an artist.
Ricardo grew up in a challenging environment in one of the toughest neighborhoods hailing from the gangs in the streets of South Brooklyn during the 1960s-1970s, specifically in a neighborhood then known as Red Hook, now called Carroll Gardens. This upbringing led him to discover street boxing and street smarts as a means of earning respect. He began working on local stages at a very young age. Training with various acting teachers throughout his earlier years. He later trained at the renown Lee Strasberg Theater Institute which he credited for perfecting his craft. His diverse background and extensive experience make him truly remarkable talent.
Being acknowledged as group theater & method acting history buff. He was part of New York City's The Actors Studio 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Historic Accomplishments of Group Theater in 1997. The Actors Studio's Artistic Director and Oscar-winning actress, Estelle Parsons, invited Ricardo to be part of the 31 One Day Celebration, a historic moment in time. Ricardo is known for his versatility as a method actor, director, producer, writer, & singer.
He spent 30 years performing in 100's of Off-Off-Broadway productions, including Tell Tale-Heart, The Rose Tattoo, Faithful, Jackie Gleason Story, Archie Bunkers back, Frankie & Johnny, Savile Row Murders, Che'-Che', and Control to name a few. He is Artistic Advisor for the Second Largest Theater festival on the East Coast "The Spotlight on Theater Festival" On TV he also appear on (CBS) in his recurring role on" Late Night with David Letterman show" guest starring as Bob Zick's (Character) Letterman's good friend.
Ricardo has Executive Produced many films. Including the Award Winning "Dyed in Wool" (2020) written & directed by Bill Sorice which received 27 accolades / 10 Awards / 7 Nominations! Most recently (2025) "Jane 2687" written & directed by Joe Benedetto which received 8 accolades & 5 Film Festival Awards including Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actress. He has 4 more films in pre-production for 2025.
