Andy C. Yang
Andy is an Engineer-turned-Filmmaker living in Austin, Texas. Born in Shenzhen, China, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada when he was 5 years old where he attended elementary school, before moving to Dallas, Texas at the age of eight. Growing up with overbearing parents who wanted him to pursue STEM, Andy decided to forge his own path after completing his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at UT Austin in 2017 to develop stories centered around Asian Americans living in Austin, Texas experiencing similar challenges with their family lives. His work spans themes of identity, parental relationships, and following one's own path. While working as a Product Manager at Microsoft, he decided to develop a new project called Where the Stars Are, a Comedy-Drama Romance with Musical elements based on his own personal experiences in college that he plans on using to springboard a shared Asian American cinematic universe set in ATX.
