Titanfall 3 in 2026 Rumor Reportedly a Stone Cold Lie but There’s One Fact That Still Proves It’s Coming
Image
Titanfall is a first-person shooter that introduces god-tier, mecha-style gameplay to the players. In the game, bullets fly like confetti, and your best friend is a 20-ton hunk of metal that only you can operate.

If you think you haven’t been insanely disappointed before, then get ready for what we are about to tell you: Titanfall 3 isn’t coming out anytime soon. Respawn Entertainment, the developers of Titanfall, broke our hearts with that news.

However, as they say, optimism is the key to a healthy life. Hence, there just might be a chance that Titanfall 3 actually drops, and we might have missed that implication.

Titanfall 3 might not be real, yet

The Titanfall franchise is one of the best and most cherished Fps series in the entire industry. The latest we have gotten from Respawn Entertainment...

“It doesn’t sound cool”: Call of Duty’s Best Ever Modern Warfare Sniper Mission Nearly Didn’t Happen For Not Being ‘Bombastic’ Enough
Image
Activision’s Call of Duty franchise changed how gamers play warfare games. The series revolutionized the first-person shooter genre with innovative multiplayer elements and realistic combat mechanics. But what truly led the CoD series to success is its immersive narrative and storytelling, which redefined the experience of an Fps game.

Although all the CoD games feature a captivating story, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare truly made a name for itself with its memorable characters and movie-like narrative, and the best CoD mission wouldn’t have even existed if not for Steve Fukuda. Of course, we are talking about the ‘All Ghillied Up‘ mission.

Let’s delve deeper into how Steve Fukuda made this stealth mission possible in the game and why this is the best mission in all of CoD.

“How do you make a shooter that’s not Call of Duty?”: The Greatest Single-player Game Ever Made Only Happened Because Its Multiplayer Mode Was a Failure

Let’s be honest, in the Fps landscape, the competition is quite tough. It’s such a broad genre that it can include almost any title where one can point a gun and aim it. However, there are a few standouts in the genre, such as Call of Duty.

When we talk about Fps games, Call of Duty is probably the first franchise that many might think about. While it’s certainly a legendary series, its campaign side has always been a hit or mess, and that’s where another iconic game, Titanfall 2, picked off.

“This mission on veteran was a nightmare”: Call of Duty Modern Warfare Had a Mission That Pushed Even the Most Experienced Players to the Limit
Image
The Call of Duty franchise has produced some of the best single-player experiences of all time. However, everyone will agree that one particular mission from a 17-year-old Call of Duty game stands out, even today. 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was quite important for the franchise as it was a shift from the franchise’s traditional World War II setting. Although the entire game had a modern setting, two missions took players back in time: All Ghillied Up and One Shot, One Kill.

The All Ghillied Up mission popularised the idea of stealth-centric missions (Image via Activision)

All Ghillied Up was the Call of Duty franchise’s first stealth-centric mission. In the mission, players control Captain Price as they make their way through Pripyat in a ghillie suit, taking out enemies stealthily. What makes the mission particularly special is the fact that none of the developers found the initial pitch exciting.

“Nobody thought it was cool, including myself”: Designer of Call of Duty’s Most Badass Mission from 17 Years Ago Had No Idea It’d Blow Up So Much
Image
2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is widely regarded as one of the most influential and iconic Fps games of all time, mainly because its exceptional campaign set a high benchmark that many competitors failed to meet at the time. The game was a shift from Call of Duty‘s traditional World War II setting as it was set in the modern world, however, two particular missions took players back in time: All Ghillied Up and One Shot, One Kill.

Undoubtedly, the All Ghillied Up is one of the most iconic missions in Call of Duty history. The game takes players back in time as it is a flashback of one of Captain Price’s earlier missions as a Lieutenant. Set in Pripyat, Ukraine in 1996, the player (Captain Price) and Captain MacMillan...

Respawn’s Mandalorian Star Wars Game May Be Cancelled, but We Could Now Be Returning to the Titanfall Universe Instead
Image
Star Wars fans are disappointed with the cancellation of EA and Respawn’s Fps title based around the Mandalorian, due to layoffs and other cost-cutting strategies, it paved the way for the Titanfall universe to make a comeback.

Titanfall launched back in 2014 where it features first-person combat and was just a multiplayer title until Respawn worked on Titanfall 2 released in 2016, no mainline follow-up was released since then and fans are hoping for a third sequel, which may not be the case.

The Upcoming Titanfall Could Feature Some Ideas Of Respawn’s Cancelled Star Wars Game The Mandalorian could have fit in a Titanfall game.

While this is a positive sign that despite the layoffs, cancellations, and changes that are happening internally, Respawn Entertainment held its head up high and continued its work. Though, a new Star Wars game set outside the Star Wars Jedi series would be a nice change of pace,...

Apex Legends Studio Is Reportedly Working On A New Titanfall Game
Image
Respawn Entertainment is reportedly working on a new Titanfall game involving Titans, but it's not Titanfall 3. Fans shouldn't expect a game with online multiplayer and single-player campaign. EA also canceled Respawn's Star Wars shooter due to budget cuts and layoffs in early 2024.

As fans desperately hope for news on a new Titanfall game, a recent rumor may be what they're looking for. Given Titanfall 2's disappointing sales numbers, despite its popularity among critics, the franchise has grown dormant as developer Respawn Entertainment shifted its focus to the live-service battle royale shooter Apex Legends. Yet in the years that followed the sequel's launch, it's become a cult classic title with a healthy player base who want more insight into the series' future.

Per video game insider and journalist Jeff Grubb on X (formerly Twitter), Respawn Entertainment is currently working on a new Titanfall game:

... Ok. Look. It's not Titanfall 3. But it...

Titanfall 2 Campaign Won’t Be Traditional Single-Player Experience, Says Respawn
Titanfall 2 Gallery 1 of 4

Developer Respawn Entertainment is thinking outside the box when it comes to the integration of Titanfall 2‘s much-touted single-player campaign.

Considering that the original 2014 shooter didn’t come packing an offline story mode, there’s an air of heightened optimism going into Titanfall 2‘s October release and during an interview with CNET (via PlayStation LifeStyle), the studio teased how the sequel’s campaign really “isn’t your average linear Fps.”

It really isn’t your average linear, for lack of a better word, corridor Fps. It’s not like you’re getting pulled through this series of explosions or people yelling at you. There’s going to be very quiet moments where you’re taking in a broad environment and you have to figure out how you’re going to traverse it.

Though it won’t step into the realm of open-world exploration, Titanfall...

Major Departures At Infinity Ward
Just one day after former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella officially unveiled Respawn Entertainment, a number of prominent, valuable employees have left beleaguered studio Infinity Ward. Have a look at who they are, and what they did at Infinity Ward:

Chris Cherubin — Lead Artist Bruce Ferriz — Senior Animator Steve Fukuda — Lead designer Mackey McCandlish — Lead Designer Zied Reike — Lead designer Jon Shiring — Programmer Rayme Vinson — Programmer

Of this current group, only person has indicated an immediate destination: Bruce Ferriz is bound for Big Red Button Entertainment, the studio founded in 2008 by former Naughty Dog Art Director Bob Rafei. As for the balance of the individuals listed above, speculation that they may join West and Zampella at Respawn Entertainment remains, for now, just that. The timing of the departures, however, is difficult to ignore.

Factoring in last week’s departures, Todd Alderman (Lead Designer) and Francesco Gigliotti (Lead...
