Dipannita Sharma is an Indian actress, producer, and supermodel who originates from Duliajan, Assam. She completed her early education at Holy Child School in Guwahati, Assam, and St. Mary's School in Naharkatia, before graduating from Indraprastha College for Women in Delhi. Sharma launched her modeling career in 1997 and gained national recognition after reaching the final five of the Miss India 1998 contest, where she won the Miss Photogenic title. She established herself as a prominent figure in Indian fashion, walking the ramp for major domestic designers and international design houses including Valentino and Fendi during their India showcases. Her modeling career achieved international scope when she became the worldwide face of the press campaign for Breguet watches and jewelry, a prestigious association that lasted five years. She has served as brand ambassador for several major skincare companies in India, including Garnier, Nivea, and Dettol soap. Sharma transitioned to acting with her Bollywood debut in the 2002 film 16 December, subsequently appearing in notable productions including the 2019 action thriller War and the 2018 drama Rainbow Fields, which marked her entry into film production. Her television work encompasses hosting duties and serving as a judge on MTV's Making the Cut, alongside performances in series such as Har Dil Jo Love Karega and Piya Kay Ghar Jana Hai. She married businessman Dilsher Singh Atwal in 2008.
