Rising from Inglewood, CA, Malaiye's artistic journey began at a young age with training in singing, dancing, and acting. This early foundation instilled in her a deep appreciation for the arts and a commitment to honing her craft. She continues to explore various artistic disciplines, believing that a multi-faceted approach enriches her creative vision and allows her to bring a unique perspective to her work.
Malaiye's recent acting credits include starring roles in the short films "Oh Great, Riley's Depressed Again" and the award-winning "Deserve," which she also wrote and executive produced. She is set to appear in the upcoming projects, "She Loves Me Not," directed by Tristan T.A. Hill, and the feature film "LA Undercover 2." directed by Omar Cook, and Adonis Armstrong.
In addition to her on-screen work, Malaiye is actively involved in projects behind the camera. She served as an editor on the film "Black Terror," directed by Richard Lawson, which screened at the Cannes and Essence Film Festivals in 2023. She also recently produced the action packed short "Run and Gun," set to enter festival circuits 2025.
Malaiye's interest in anthropology further informs her storytelling, as she believes in the power of film to connect people across cultures and illuminate the shared human experience.
