RZA joined Russell Crowe on-stage with his band The Gentlemen Barbers on May 19th as part of the actor’s Australian pub concert series, the Indoor Garden Party.

The Wu-Tang Clan mastermind made his surprise guest appearance at The Bridge Hotel in Sydney as Crowe’s collective, which featured keys, trumpet, and a trio of backing vocalists, launched into the original tune “Let Your Light Shine.” The Oscar-winning actor and lead vocalist originally shared a studio version of the song in early May, but its live rendition stands as a worthy remix with its fresh RZA verse and slicker, bluesy edge from the live band. Film Victoria has announced $2 million in production funding across 11 film, television and online projects, including Matchbox Pictures’ upcoming Sbs series Hungry Ghosts.

The agency has also backed second seasons of Screentime’s Playing For Keeps for 10, Wtfn children’s series Larry the Wonderpup, and Ruby Entertainment/Robot Army comedy Rostered On, both for Seven.

Matchbox’s Hungry Ghosts is a four-part series which centres on three generations of Vietnamese Australian families touched by the effects of war. When a powerful amulet is broken on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Festival in Melbourne, a vengeful spirit is unleashed, bringing the dead with him. Shawn Seet will direct, Stephen Corvini is producing and the writers are Timothy Hobart, Michelle Lee, Alan Nguyen, Jeremy Nguyen and John Ridley.

Film Victoria has also invested in two fiction features, including Good Things Productions’ Below, which recently wrapped production in Western Australia.

Discovering that many people in the entertainment industry struggle with mental health issues and substance abuse, the former Home and Away star embarked on a personal and professional journey.

Steel has interviewed 63 people from all walks of the industry, including actors, musicians, theatre producers, editors, roadies, dancers and sound recordists, who shared their experiences for The Show Must Go On.

Every single one recognised that mental illness is a massive issue and only a handful declined to go on the record due to their public profile or wishing to remain anonymous.

The interviewees include Sam Neill, David McAllister, Jocelyn Moorhouse, Dean Ray, Marcia Hines and Michala Banas.

The video tells the all too familiar story of gay life for many – the drunken bar encounters, Grindr hookups, arguments with your parents when you come out, all interspersed with ordinary days and longing to be part of a couple and have your life, until it just happens when you aren’t looking for it, in the small moments.

The video progresses to a joyous ending, and I’m not ashamed to admit that I choked up a few times along the way. Beautifully done.

Marcia Hines has finally spoken out about her daughter Deni's controversial stint on last year's Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Marcia Hines has revealed that she would consider cosmetic surgery. The 58-year-old singer, who used to be a judge on reality television show Australian Idol before it was axed, said that nobody should "judge" others for doing what they believe makes them look younger and feel better. When asked what her skincare secret was, Hines joked to the Herald Sun: "Black don't crack," then added: "I wouldn't say no [to plastic surgery]. Who's to judge?
