Tension has never been a stranger to The View. The daytime talk show thrives on differing perspectives, fiery debates, and the occasional viral moment.
But what happens when the conflict feels less like on-screen chemistry and more like two colleagues tolerating each other under duress?
That’s the current state of affairs between co-hosts Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin—a duo that viewers are now actively nudging toward interaction, whether they’re ready or not.
Uncomfortable Silence Meets On-Air Standoff
Navarro and Griffin, both assertive and sharp in their own right, have rarely shared an easy dynamic.
Their differing political backgrounds and personal styles have made them natural foils, but it’s the lack of on-screen warmth—or even basic acknowledgment—that’s caught the attention of fans.
Many viewers are now convinced it’s the audience themselves pushing these two toward some kind of connection. A recent exchange—tense,...

If you’ve ever watched The View, you know it’s never just polite conversation over coffee. The long-running daytime talk show thrives on bold opinions, clashing ideologies, and the kind of high-stakes debate that can turn a routine segment into a headline-making moment.
But while viewers might relish the drama, what happens when the tension becomes too much for the women at the table?
One co-host is pulling back the curtain on what it’s really like behind the scenes — and it’s more emotional than fans might expect.
Fireworks on the Set, Tears Behind the Scenes
The View has built its legacy on the sparks that fly when strong personalities collide. Whether it’s Whoopi Goldberg raising an eyebrow mid-rant or Joy Behar taking a firm stand, the show doesn’t shy away from friction. In fact, that friction is the very fuel that powers its ratings.

The View might be the number one daytime talk show on television, but some viewers are growing tired of the summer reruns, blasting them as ‘stale.’ Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro and the rest of The View staff are currently on summer break, with new episodes set to return in September. In the meantime, the long-running show is airing old episodes. However, some fans think rerunning past episodes doesn’t work when The View is such a topical show. Taking to The View Reddit forum, one user asked, “Should The View Even Air Repeats?” “The View is a very topical show. Viewers tune in to The View to see what the hosts will say about whatever everybody else is talking about,” the poster continued, noting that while “the hosts and production crew need time off,” other topical shows “would never air repeats weeks or months later.

During the week of July 21-25, 2025, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” continued to see year-over-year improvement among the key sales demographics used to sell ads for daytime television and Total Viewers, despite minor declines compared to its performance one week earlier among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54.
Up +105,000 viewers week-to-week and +96,000 year-over-year, the long-running drama series attracted its largest audience in four weeks with 3.075 million viewers tuning in, while marking the largest gain across daytime broadcast compared to the same week last year. Among Women 25-54, the series was down -0.02 (0.43 rating vs. 0.45 rating) week-to-week, which was flat with the comparable week last year.

The View is currently on a summer hiatus. However, viewers aren’t sure if it will return again. CBS’s abrupt cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has talk shows on edge.
Did ABC Cancel The View?
Viewers were looking forward to catching up with the news on The View while they were on summer vacation. But the daytime talk show is on a break. As of Monday, July 28, the show started airing previously aired episodes and will continue to do so for the next few weeks.
The ladies concluded Season 28 on Thursday, July 24, with a special message to viewers. Co-host Joy Behar started things off by saying, “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” She wasn’t sure what to say, as networks are being carefully watched during this time.

The View‘s summer hiatus is now fully in effect. Starting this week, on Monday (July 28), the hit ABC daytime talk show is airing encore episodes, and it will continue to do so for the next few weeks. The news came as a bit of a shock to some, when cohost Joy Behar accidentally announced the ending of Season 28 on Thursday (July 24), saying, “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” Then Whoopi Goldberg made a more formal announcement about it in the video clip above, saying, “Okay, so here’s what’s going on. We will see you all tomorrow for another new show, and we’ll be back for our new season in September. But of course, you can watch us the rest of the summer with our encore episodes, the best of the season.” Considering...

The View is about to go on a summer 2025 hiatus, and fans were shocked when the bombshell news was dropped during the show’s Thursday, July 24, episode. Joy Behar was the one to unexpectedly make the announcement. “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” she asked. Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed and said, “Too late now!” A producer also weighed in. “Doesn’t really matter, yeah,” he said. It appeared that Behar wasn’t necessarily supposed to blurt out the hiatus news at that time, but it certainly caused a stir. With the recent cancellation of Stephen Colbert‘s late night show following Paramount’s controversial settlement with Donald Trump, some fans online are wondering if ABC might follow suit and axe The View. Scroll down for everything we know. Is The View canceled? No, The View has not been canceled.

Joy Behar shocked her The View cohosts when she seemingly unexpectedly let news slip about the show’s upcoming hiatus. She shared the news at the top of the Thursday, July 24, episode. “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” Behar asked, to which Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed and responded, “Too late now!” A producer chimed in from the background to add, “Doesn’t really matter.” A source confirmed to TV Insider that “the show will be on its annual summer hiatus” beginning next week. The View goes on summer break every year in August and returns after Labor Day. This year, the break will begin on Monday, July 28, which seems to be a few days earlier than usual. That means there will just be one more episode before The View is off the air for several weeks.

President Donald Trump’s administration isn’t just taking aim at late night hosts, as they’ve now turned their attention to daytime programming.
The White House had some strong words to say about The View co-host Joy Behar after she said Trump was “so jealous” of former President Barack Obama.
Behar’s comments were made during Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s daytime talk show, when the panel — consisting of Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin — was discussing Trump’s recent attack on his predecessor. During an earlier press conference, in an attempt to distract from questions about the Jeffrey Epstein files, Trump accused Obama of “treason” and his administration of trying to “steal” the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.
In response, Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush called Trump’s claims “outrageous,” “bizarre” and a “weak attempt at distraction.”
On The View, Behar also had some thoughts.

The White House lashed out at Joy Behar after she said on ABC’s The View that Donald Trump’s attacks on his predecessor, Barack Obama, were motivated by jealousy, while noting the current president’s role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
On Wednesday, Behar and the other View co-hosts talked about Obama’s response to Trump’s claim that his predecessor was guilty of treason. The Trump administration claims that Obama and his team conspired to alter intelligence assessments to boost the notion Russia was attempting to help Trump get elected in 2016.
Obama’s spokesperson called the allegations “bizarre” and a “weak attempt at distraction.”
On The View, Behar said, “First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on January 6th? Who was that again?”
Behar added, “The thing about him is he is so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not.

Whoopi Goldberg grew up in a time long before social media of any form existed, so naturally, she never a big user of Aim, Facebook or the like. So, upon learning just how overdramatic things got on those platforms from millennial co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, her jaw literally dropped in shock.
As part of the “The View’s” Hot Topics on Wednesday, the women discussed how Gen Z has started keeping relationship details off social media, in part because of learning from the generation above them. Of course, host Sara Haines was quick to point out that sharing personal matters online was less of a discovery by Gen Z than a return to norm, as millennials largely started that trend.
Farah Griffin agreed, cringing as she remembered how she would dread having to change her relationship status on Facebook after a breakup more than the breakup itself.

The hosts of “The View” are among the many upset over CBS canceling “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” but on Tuesday morning, moderator Whoopi Goldberg was reticent about her true feelings on the matter. For now, anyways.
The ABC host discussed the cancellation to kick off the day’s Hot Topics, and for the most part, they agreed that while economics may have been a factor in ending the show, as CBS and Paramount insist was the sole decision-maker, “you cannot deny” that politics were also at play.
Host Joy Behar once again argued that comedians are imperative to a democracy, and should be allowed to say what they want, while Sunny Hostin picked apart the specific financials. But, when it came time for Goldberg’s input, she spoke simply.
“Colbert, we’re supporting you,” she said. “We got your back. I’m going to wait and see what — where it shakes it out.

The cohosts of The View started Tuesday’s (July 22) edition with a lively discussion of the latest news surrounding the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that revealed a nickname cohost Joy Behar is supposedly censored from saying. Most recently, Stephen Colbert reacted to Donald Trump‘s insistence that he “absolutely love[s]” CBS’s decision to cancel the late-night show on Monday night’s episode and had a few contemporaries in the crowd showing their support for him, including Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver, Jon Stewart, and Seth Meyers. After reviewing footage of Colbert’s message to Trump, along with Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show segment on the matter in which he called his own parent network’s decision an act born of “fear and pre-compliance.” When asked by moderator Whoopi Goldberg whether the cohosts agreed with Stewart’s analysis of the situation, Alyssa Farah...

As President Donald Trump continues to face criticism from his own voters and beyond over Jeffrey Epstein’s files and its rumored client list — or rather, the lack thereof, according to the DOJ and FBI — former Trump staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin asserted during Monday’s episode of “The View” that this marks a huge shift in Maga circles.
“I think this is the biggest fracture in Maga that we’ve seen to date,” she said. “But I actually think that people well beyond Trump followers care about this. They want to understand what happened with Jeffrey Epstein and what the government knows.”
Last week, a memo from the Department of Justice and the FBI was obtained by various news organizations, in which it was stated that no client list for convicted sex offender Epstein exists, despite the fact that Trump and several members of his cabinet have previously asserted otherwise.

The View‘s only conservative co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, revealed that she has cried backstage “at least a half dozen times.”

Amid ongoing questions about Jeffrey Epstein’s death, the Trump administration revealed this week that the Federal Bureau of Prisons has at least one minute of missing security footage every night. That admission was pretty funny to the hosts of “The View.”
During a press briefing on Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondi was asked point blank why there is a minute of footage missing from the night Epstein died in prison. In response, she admitted that, because the camera system is so old, the system resets nightly, and “a minute is missing every night, and that’s it on Epstein.”

A federal jury found disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty on transportation to engage in prostitution charges last week, but found not guilty on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. For now, he remains in prison, and still faces a longer sentence — but “The View” host Ana Navarro offered a warning on Monday morning’s episode.
Discussing the verdict, which disappointed most of the hosts — but was largely predicted by host and former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin — the women expressed anger at both the prosecution, as well as those who enabled Combs for years.
While moderator Whoopi Goldberg took comfort in those people having to live with their shame, Navarro cautioned that she will not be subtle if she sees Combs herself in the future.
“Listen, if I run into him in Miami, I’m going viral,” she said bluntly.
As for exactly why Combs was found not guilty...

Elon Musk seemingly began to make good on his threat to Donald Trump over the weekend, announcing the creation of a third party known as the “America Party.” And really, some of the hosts of “The View” are all for a third political party — just not from Musk.
The billionaire announced the “America Party” in response to the passing of Trump’s tax bill, and following the move, Tesla’s stock saw a 7% drop on Monday morning. But, discussing the move on the ABC talk show, host Sunny Hostin argued that fewer billionaires need to inhabit politics anyway.
“I myself am tired of billionaires as politicians,” she said. “I’m not interested in that kind of leadership whatsoever.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin caused quite a stir with some comments she made amid a discussion about abortion on the Friday, June 27, episode of The View. The conversation began with Joy Behar bringing up the Supreme Court’s decision to defund Planned Parenthood in South Carolina, and turned to talk of Adriana Smith, a Georgia woman who was kept alive on ventilators while pregnant because of her state’s abortion laws. Sara Haines brought the story up. “She went in having concerns about her pregnancy, they sent her home, she went back and it ended up she had blood clots,” Haines shared. “They kept her alive by ventilators, although her family wanted to let her go because she was completely brain-dead, but they did it to keep the baby, against the family’s wishes. And the baby was born at, like, oe pound. To me, that’s such an overstep.” That...

The hosts of “The View” are no strangers to embarrassing moments, and during Thursday’s episode of the ABC talk show, host Alyssa Farah Griffin revealed one of her most “brutal” ones: the time she accidentally flashed Jude Law.
The admission came as the hosts discussed singer LeAnn Rimes, who recently had a mishap at a concert where her own teeth fell out mid-song. The hosts felt for her, joking that, as Rimes said after the incident, the show must always go on. From there, they started revealing their own embarrassing moments at work.
“I accidentally flashed my underwear to Jude Law backstage once,” Farah Griffin revealed, much to the shock of her co-hosts. “My mic pack fell down my dress, so at commercial, I run back.”
She explained that there is always an audio technician backstage just in case something happens, and indeed, there was this time too. What...

Ozempic may be a diabetes medication, but these days, it’s also the star of some surprisingly spicy daytime TV conversations.
Case in point: a recent episode of The View where a chat about Ozempic’s infamous side effects took an unexpectedly cheeky turn—complete with celebrity banter, unexpected confessions, and Joy Behar doing what she does best: cracking jokes.
A Side Effect Sparks Side-Splitting Jokes
When actor and comedian Mario Cantone dropped by The View on June 20, 2025, the energy on set was already electric.
Moments before his arrival, the co-hosts had been diving into what they called the “Ozempic penis” phenomenon—an alleged side effect of the medication where some men report genital enlargement. It’s unproven, of course, but ripe for on-air teasing.
By the time Cantone joined the conversation, the panel was warmed up and ready for more laughs.

The Wednesday, June 25, episode of The View began with the cohosts discussing Donald Trump and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s new feud, which began after she publicly called him out for bombing Iran, prompting him to call her “stupid” and “one of the dumbest people in Congress.” Joy Behar began the conversation by pointing out, “[Trump] really doesn’t like strong women. He likes dutiful, obedient women who compliment him. Even back in the day, I used to do jokes about his hair. Every male comedian did jokes about his hair, but he went after me.” Behar’s main question to her cohosts was whether they believe young democrats like Aoc are finding the voice that’s connecting with people. While Sunny Hostin felt this was the case, Alyssa Farah Griffin disagreed. “Donald Trump is dying to have this fight [with Aoc],” she said. “He wants to make her the face of the Democratic ...

Even if you have an Egot, it doesn't mean you can stop collecting awards! On the Monday edition of The View, Friday moderator Joy Behar announced that Whoopi Goldberg would be absent this week as she'll be in Italy to collect a prestigious award.
“We are all jealous of Whoopi today because she’s in Italy — I hope it’s 100 degrees…She’s in Italy accepting an award for her book Bits and Pieces, so she will be out this week,” the long-time co-host revealed after easing viewers' minds.
With Whoopi out, Ana Navarro will be sitting in for the week in Behar's usual spot. But have no fear, Whoopi will return to the Hot Topics' table on July 7th following the traditional July 4th summer break.

The P Diddy federal criminal case, which is currently underway in the court as his trial ensues, has been met with yet another major update. But, this time around, the name that’s catching fire for making a joke about the now-disgraced music mogul back when he was arrested is none other than that of the actor-comedian Whoopi Goldberg.
Turns out, back when he was tossed behind bars in 2024, the co-host of The View was among the ones to make a joke about the raids on Diddy’s house. But while the comment prompted light laughter from audiences back then, it appears to have aged poorly after Cassie Ventura’s graphic revelation about the freak-off parties.

Following Donald Trump’s authorization of military strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, many have asserted that the move violated the War Powers Act, which stipulates that only congress can declare war on another country. So, stopping by “The View” on Monday morning, ABC News’ Jonathan Karl weighed in.
Discussing the strike, host Sunny Hostin, who is also a former federal prosecutor, noted that, in her expert opinion, it was “certainly a clear violation of international law at the very least.” But, did it violate the War Powers Act?
“Well look, constitutionally, only congress has the power to declare war,” Karl explained. “The War Powers Act would make it seem very clear, you need to have congressional approval on this.”
“But!” Karl stipulated. “President after president after president has launched military action without the approval of congress. And congress, under Democratic and Republican leadership, has complained the president is violating the War Powers Act.

On Monday’s (June 23) live episode of The View, the cohosts started the day with a two-segment-long “Hot Topic” discussion of Donald Trump‘s decision to send the United States military to strike three nuclear sites in Iran with bombs. Joy Behar, who was the panel moderator due to Whoopi Goldberg‘s absence, led the discussion and welcomed ABC News’ Jonathan Karl — the network’s Washington correspondent and coanchor of This Week With George Stephanopoulos — to field some questions from herself and cohosts Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The cohosts were full of questions about the matter, including whether Trump’s claim that the sites were “obliterated” was true or if other administration officials’ words, including Jd Vance, were more accurate. They also inquired about the legality of the attack, the history of the U.S.’s intervention in Iran’s nuclear program, and more details.

“The View” host Sara Haines offered a lengthy correction to comments she made on-air this week via her social media on Thursday, admitting that she conflated societal rules in Iran with rules in Afghanistan.
On Wednesday’s episode of the ABC talk show, the women got into a heated debate about whether marginalized communities — specifically women, Black people and members of the LGBTQ+ community — have it worse in the United States or Iran. While host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that Iran’s strictness is “not even the same universe” as America, Whoopi pushed back.
As the discussion wore on, Haines chimed in to side with Farah Griffin, noting that women “are not doing well in Iran. They are not educated, they can’t own property.” But, the host amended that statement in her Instagram story on Thursday.

Live TV scares are rare on The View, but this one nearly turned deadly. The long-running talk show is known for its spirited debates and smooth production—but even a well-oiled machine can have a near-catastrophe. That’s exactly what happened during a recent episode when former co-host Debbe Matenopoulos returned to share dishes from her new cookbook Greekish. What no one expected was that a single ingredient would send Sunny Hostin into panic mode—because it could have cost her life.

While she described the incident, The View flashed back to the segment in question, showing Sunny's reaction to Alyssa Farah Griffin asking Debbie if the dish had walnuts. In that moment,...

Whoopi Goldberg has a lot of money, so sometimes, people feel that she disrespects those who can’t live her lifestyle. In fact, last year, The View personality got a lot of flak thrown her way for claiming she can’t afford to live without her salary. Whoopi Goldberg has come under fire for comments she made on The View during a discussion about the Israel-Iran conflict, and one person specifically calling her out is Fox News host Harris Faulkner, who called her “ignorant.” On the Thursday, June 19, episode of The Faulkner Focus, the journalist called Goldberg’s comments “asinine,” adding, “You know, we’re two Black individuals and we’ve done well, we’re successful, and there’s a lot of other folks like us around. This is not Jim Crow, this is not slavery, and to be making those kind of comparisons is despicable.” Specifically, Faulkner was referring to Whoopi’s comparison of being Black in America to living in Iran. After cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out, “I think it’s very different to live in the United States in 2025 than it is to live in Iran in 2025,” Goldberg replied, “Not if you’re Black.

Joy Behar took a little time to list off some of the many firsts Donald Trump has had as president during Thursday morning’s episode of “The View,” including being the first president to pay hush money to a porn star. But co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin was quick to counter that.

It’s a historic move, marking the first time the White House has not received an invite since 1909.

The hosts of “The View” clashed pretty hard on Wednesday morning, as the women debated whether marginalized groups have it worse in the United States or in the Middle East. The discussion eventually got so contentious, it became hard to hear, and eventually was sent to break.

The women were split over the correct course of action. Things got off to a very rocky start on Wednesday’s (June 18) edition of The View as the cohosts’ discussion of the deadly conflict erupting between Israel and Iran devolved into a full-on shouting match. The conversation began with a discussion of Tucker Carlson‘s headline-making interview with Ted Cruz, in which he challenged the Texas senator’s knowledge of Iran, despite his support of Israel’s attacks on the Middle Eastern nation. Whoopi Goldberg asked Alyssa Farah Griffin to speak first because of her status as the resident Republican of the panel and her contacts in Donald Trump‘s orbit, especially in national security thanks to her previous experience working in the Pentagon. “So, listen, I have to say I’m not going to cheer Tucker Carlson because [for] the first time in 10 years, he made one good point. I haven’t even heard about a protest, but this is people that hate our country, but they will be met with very heavy force.” They then showed a clip of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responding to questions about what kind...

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter is drawing criticism from some over her new album cover, but on Thursday morning, the hosts of “The View” pushed back against those critics.
Carpenter’s new album is called “Man’s Best Friend,” and the cover art shows her on all fours at a man’s feet while he uses her hair like a leash. Some fans have decried the image as insensitive, given the precarious status of women’s rights in the country right now, while others simply argued that it “set us back about five decades.”
“Oh, boo-hoo! It sounds like the ’90s to complain about an album cover,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “They’re always provocative, you want to grab people’s eyes.”
Farah Griffin noted that she is a big Sabrina Carpenter fan herself, and pointed out that Carpenter’s actual lyrics are “all about women’s empowerment” and often mock men who deserve it.

Whoopi Goldberg is not buying the recent feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, even going so far as to call it “fake” and “strategic” on a new episode of “The View.”
The “Hot Topics” segment of Monday’s show mainly centered on the back-and-forth between Trump and Musk, which started last week over Trump’s massive government spending bill and escalated to Musk alleging that Trump is in the Epstein files. When “The View” ladies discussed who they think will come out on top, conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin said she’s betting on her former boss.
“My money is on Donald Trump though, because he clapped back and said he’ll go after Elon’s Pentagon contracts,” Griffin said during the live show (via Entertainment Weekly). In response, Goldberg fired back: “I love that y’all bought into it.”
“It’s not fake,” Griffin countered, to which Goldberg...
