Red Dead Redemption 2 Game Engine Will Stop You from Becoming a Mass Murderer Because “It’s not practical”
Image
Ever wanted to become a mass murderer in a video game? While the law may fail to stop you from becoming one in Red Dead Redemption 2, the game engine certainly won’t. Rockstar’s approach to realism in the Red Dead series is different from GTA as the former’s realism is more akin to the real world.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is perhaps Rockstar’s most detailed and realistic open world yet, giving players an incredible sense of freedom. But just like in the real world, freedom has its own set of restrictions. The realism in this game is way more believable, which, by default, sets it apart from the wildly absurd things that you can do in GTA.

Rockstar’s approach to player freedom in Red Dead Redemption 2 is much more realistic

In an IGN interview with Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson, Nelson discussed that Rockstar’s approach...

A24's 'Heretic' Starring Hugh Grant Set to Stream on Max This March
Image
One of A24's most popular horror releases last year will be coming to Max very soon. Heretic, directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, will debut exclusively on the streaming service on Mar. 7 and on HBO linear on Saturday, Mar. 8 at 8:00 p.m. Et. The movie initially premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024 before receiving a wide release in November. Much of the film is carried by the philosophical musings of Grant's character, Mr. Reed, who puts two missionaries, Sister Barnes (Sophie Thatcher) and Sister Paxton (Chloe East), to the ultimate test, centered around their faith and the nature of belief.

Max received a very impressive upgrade in December 2023, when the streamer landed a multiyear deal with A24 to be the production company's dedicated digital home for its vast library of titles. Before then, most of A24's latest movies could be found on Showtime,...

The Loneliest Drag Queen in America
Image
It’s hard out there for a right-wing drag queen.

When a 6’2”, 190 pound man entered the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center outside Washington, D.C. — decked out in a fabulous blond wig, a crown of flowers, and a floor-length red-white-and-blue dress — he was not there to protest the Conservative Political Action Conference.

A blue sash proclaimed the name of Ryan Woods’ drag persona in sparkly letters: “Lady Maga USA.” The floor-length ensemble, he’d explain, was an homage to Abigail Adams, Marie Antoinette and Scarlett O’Hara. The dress was festooned with yellow ribbons,...

Sam Raimi's First Professional Film Job Was Commercial Driving (Badly)
Image
Director Sam Raimi was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He attended high school in Beverly Hills, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University. In the late 1970s, when Raimi was still a teen, he began shooting Super 8 movies with his friends — including his buddy Bruce Campbell — in the woods and streets of his home state. By the time he was 22, Raimi had managed to gather up the wherewithal to fund "The Evil Dead," his most ambitious project up to that time. "The Evil Dead" became an underground sensation and cemented his career as a filmmaker. The movie is shown on the midnight circuit to this day.

But, like any successful person, Raimi's career wasn't as clear as any brief biography could possibly elucidate. Raimi wasn't making a living with his filmmaking, and he, like so many of us, had to pay his dues. For years, Raimi worked a series of crappy,...

Adam Driver Fights Dinosaurs in First Trailer for Sci-Fi Actioner ‘65’ (Video)
Adam Driver
Adam Driver shoots a laser gun at dinosaurs in the first trailer for the new film “65,” and for many that will be all the selling point they need to buy a ticket to this Columbia Pictures sci-fi actioner.

The original film hails from “A Quiet Place” co-writers Scott Beck and Ryan Woods, who wrote and direct this new film under the tutelage of Sam Raimi, who produces.

Driver plays a pilot named Mills who crash-lands on an unknown planet, only to discover he’s actually on Earth 65 million years ago. Which means yes, he’s now in a struggle for survival against dinosaurs – but unlike the “Jurassic World” movies, he’s battling these dinos with high-tech weapons.

With only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive.
