Kyla Jordan Stone made her Broadway debut in the original musical, Harmony, written by Barry Manilow and directed by Warren Carlyle. She understudied and performed the role of Josephine Baker.
Stone starred in the national tour of Anastasia as the world's first African-American Anya, directed by Darko Tresnjak and starred as the first U.S. Black Elle Woods in Legally Blonde at The Muny Theater of St. Louis.
Stone is performing in the world premiere of Regency Girls at the Old Globe Theater, directed by Josh Rhodes.
Regionally, Stone's most recent roles include Inga in Young Frankenstein, a co-production of Berkshire Theater Group, Bay Street Theater and Geva Theater Center, and Cinderella in Into the Woods at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.
Stone made her LA theater debut as Mrs. Shelly and covered Martha (and performed) in The Secret Garden at the Ahmanson Theater, directed by Carlyle.
Other regional theater credits include the roles of Marian in The Music Man with the Gainesville Opera and Johanna in Sweeney Todd at the Hangar Theater, directed by Sanaz Ghajar.
In film, she played the leading role in A Life Within for which she won the Paris Cinema Award for Best Actress in A Short Film. She also starred in the independent short, The Biggest Little.
Stone graduated from Chapman University with a BFA in Theater Performance. Some favorite roles include Aida in AIDA, Gary Coleman in Avenue Q, Mariana in Measure for Measure and Judy Bernly in 9 To 5, for which she won the award for "Outstanding Performance of the Year".
Stone is a superb vocalist in several styles including opera, musical theater, pop, jazz, R&B and country.
