Clay Lacey is a writer/director located in southern California.
Clay began pursuing his filmmaking career in 2020. He started by participating in filmmaking competitions, such as the 48-Hour Film Project, My Rode Reel, and AGBO's No Sleep 'til Film Fest.
Clay received the Best Film and Best Directing awards back-to-back in 2020 and 2021 at the Inland Empire 48-Hour Film Project. Both films were official selections of the international Filmapalooza Film Festival. Clay has received multiple other awards and nominations for his participation in the Inland Empire and Los Angeles 48-Hour Film Projects.
In 2021, Clay participated in the 2nd annual AGBO No Sleep 'til Film Fest. His film placed 3rd overall in the international competition and was the only film from the United States to place. Clay is now a member of AGBO's Storyteller's Collective, an alumni network of participants from other AGBO fellowship programs.
