When editing, doesn't work with a rough cut but starts at the beginning and fine cuts from the start of scene one till he reaches the end of the film, fully tracklaying in the process.

Works closely with German film editor Heidi Stiene, who also meticulously tracklays the films as she edits.

Woodcock knew the film director Lindsay Anderson, who directed the film version of David Storey's first novel This Sporting Life, and many of his plays.

Woodcock was born on July 13th. He has been quoted as saying that British writer David Storey, who was also born on July 13th, had the greatest influence on his film Between Two Women. Steven Woodcock's next film is an adaptation of a David Storey novel called Flight into Camden.

With modelmaker John Lee he designed and made most of the special effects models for the Gerry Anderson TV series Terrahawks, for which neither was given a screen credit. To make up for this they secretly put their own initials, birthdates, and hidden codes on the sides of various spaceship models in large letters.

Shares his birthday with Harrison Ford, David Storey, Patrick Stewart and British satirist Ian Hislop.
