- After playing the part of a helicopter pilot in the acclaimed series Jour polaire (2016) Richard became so hooked that he now has taken his own helicopter private pilot license.
- Björn Ulvaeus from ABBA is the cousin of Richard's father Joen Ulfsäter. As children his father introduced music to Björn and taught him how to play the guitar and the piano.
- His aunt Agneta Ulfsäter-Troell is married to the Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winning cinematographer and director Jan Troell.
- Niklas Hjulström played the partner/ husband of Annika Bengtzon (Tomas) and Erika Falck (Patrik) the first version of each series and Richard Ulfsäter played both roles the the second version of each one.
