Born in Los Angeles and raised on Wonderland Avenue, Michael Tierney is the writer, director, co-composer, and star of the 1999 cult film Evicted (1999). Shot on 16mm and distributed by York Entertainment.
Evicted was rejected by every major U.S. film festival - and then opened the first Melbourne Underground Film Festival. Tierney is also the nephew of Reservoir Dogs star Lawrence Tierney, whose royalty checks from Reservoir Dogs (1992) helped fund the project. Evicted is now considered a relic of analog punk cinema and the slacker spirit of 1990s Los Angeles.
The film and original soundtrack were completed in 1999 and released worldwide on DVD, VHS, and all major streaming platforms. Distribution included Netflix, Blockbuster Video, Hollywood Video, and major retail outlets across the U.S. and abroad.
The latest release, Evicted Theme Deluxe Edition (2025), features alternate and extended versions of the film's theme music, along with dialogue excerpts and bonus material. It is now streaming on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer, Pandora, and more.
