Mark Mercado, a true son of Los Angeles, was born into the vibrant tapestry of Mexican-American culture that permeates the city's streets. Growing up, surrounded by the looming presence of street gangs and the harsh realities of urban life, he turned to his innate artistry as a means of escape and found solace in the creative realm. It was within the nurturing embrace of the Venice Playhouse that Mark discovered his true calling that he found a sense of purpose and belonging, participating in small plays that ignited his passion for storytelling. After graduating from high school, Mark enrolled in the prestigious Los Angeles Film School where he delved deep into the intricacies of filmmaking, honing his skills and expanding his creative horizons. His illustrious career has spanned over 25 years, wearing multiple hats in the production process, working on a multitude of projects across various mediums, including live-action, animation, commercials, radio, and interactive media. Mark's dedication to his craft has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including four Emmy Awards for his outstanding contributions to television, two Motion Picture Sound Editor Awards and one prestigious ASSG Award for his exceptional work in sound design and editing.
