James Gunn
Can James Gunn Make the DC Version of End Game?
James Gunn
In the first week of May 2024, the first images of James Gunn's Superman were posted, with David Corenswet now inhabiting the role of the Man of Steel.

Looking at Corenswet, it's easy to see that this Superman is a throwback to Christopher Reeve's groovy interpretation of the Superman of 1978.

Not just a superhuman being but a likable dork with a heart of gold, the Superman that baby boomers fell in love with.

It's the opposite of what Zack Snyder envisioned with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice -- an aging Superman feeling alienated from humankind and looking downright surly.

(The face of Henry Cavill's Superman, that imperious, disenchanted, loveless face, was a work of art. He would do a fantastic job as a villain for a change.)

Despite perfect casting, Snyder went full Emo Superman with his Dcu, adding a splash of moodiness...

'The Goat' Reminds Us Why We Love Reality Television So Much
Image
Surprise! Prime Video dropped the premiere episode of The Goat on YouTube before the official season premieres on May 9th. And the result was something that reality TV fans were completely expecting: a ridiculously fun time! Even through all its stupidity, like host Daniel Tosh just meandering around Goat Manor during all the scheming or sitting in for a confessional that the producers tell him he doesn't need to do, The Goat leaned into all the reality tropes that made the genre what it is. Whether it's flirting like they're on The Bachelor or throwing out random names to vote out based on completely nothing, it's clear The Goat knows exactly what it's doing. It's pure ridiculous entertainment. The wild and eclectic conglomeration of reality stars come together in a celebration of why we love reality television. And once the game is on, the reality stars remind us why they're ther,...

Luke Macfarlane Compares Netflix Payments To His Hallmark Channel Take
Image
Luke Macfarlane is revealing his holiday movie earnings, and he’s not ho-ho-hoing all the way to the bank.

“You were in [Single All the Way on Netflix], was the paycheck bigger [than Hallmark]?” Daniel Tosh asked Macfarlane, 43, during a recent episode of his Tosh Show podcast.

Macfarlane replied, “Smaller.”

Macfarlane has been a Hallmark staple since 2015. Earlier this year, Macfarlane appeared in Notes of Autumn and Catch Me If You Claus. He is now seen in Netflix’s Single All the Way.

“So, I’ve had, like, sort of overall deals with [Hallmark where] I’m gonna commit to five Christmas movies or five movies, but I can’t work for any other networks and they can’t be holiday-related movies,” Macfarlane explained, noting he could sign onto Single All the Way at the time because that was “outside of my deal.”

Asked if Hallmark pays well, Macfarlane nodded and said that his “rate goes up” for successive projects.

Image
Luke Macfarlane opened up about past crushes, his history with the Hallmark Channel and his starring role in Billy Eichner‘s queer romcom Bros during an interview with Daniel Tosh.

The 43-year-old actor sat down for a lengthy conversation on the Tosh Show podcast.

During it, he spoke candidly about the 16 movies he’s done for the Hallmark Channel, touching on everything from the types of roles he’s starred in and the pay. Luke even weighed in on controversial actress Candace Cameron Bure who left the network and if the network actors are competitive with one another.

He also reflected on the misfiring of Bros, which was a darling with critics but failed to net success at the box office. On the topic of the movie, he revealed one Nsfw scene that cost $30,000 but was cut from the final script.

Luke was also playfully put on blast for one...

The Real Reason Why Tosh.0 Was Cancelled
Image
Stand-up comedians have a unique way of branding their own humor while making strides in the business. Most are totally fine with performing on stage, but it is common to see successful comedians try their hand at film, television, and even podcasts. The ones making the most money, like Joe Rogan, are the ones that reach huge audiences often.

Daniel Tosh was a successful comedian before transitioning to Tosh.0, and the show boosted his popularity thanks to being a huge hit that lasted for more than a decade on the air. The show was given the ax by Comedy Central, and most people may thoroughly dislike the reason why.

Randy Quaid Is 'Seriously Considering' Running for Governor of California
Image
We might be seeing no less than two celebrities in the race for governor of California, as Christmas Vacation star Randy Quaid has tossed his name into the hat. Recently, Caitlyn Jenner officially announced her campaign to run in the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election. The last Republican governor of the state, fellow celebrity Arnold Schwarzenegger, said on Jimmy Kimmel Live that "anyone has a chance" to win in response to Jenner's campaign announcement.

On Tuesday, Quaid jumped into the fray with a post on Twitter teasing a possible run for governor of California. At this time, the actor has not launched an official campaign as Jenner has, so it's unclear just how much thought he's put into the possibility. In any case, Quaid's announcement is getting a lot of people talking.

"I'm seriously considering running for governor," Quaid said in the tweet, which includes the hashtag #RandyQuaid4CAGOV. "The prosecutorial...
