Fabio Porchat is a household name in the Brazilian comedy spectrum. He is the co-founder of Porta dos Fundos, as well as actor and screenwriter for the channel, which is now the largest comedic YouTube channel in the world.
He graduated as an actor at CAL (Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras), worked at Rede Globo from 2006 to 2013, and later started doing stand-up shows all over Rio. He traveled across the country (and the world) performing his solo act Fora do Normal and made a huge success with his play Meu Passado me Condena, where he acted alongside Miá Mello, which later got turned into a movie, which in turn was also hugely successful. From 2016 to 2018, he hosted a talk show at TV Record called Programa do Porchat, and in 2018, he joined the team of hosts for Papo de Segunda, a talk show broadcast on GNT.
On the big screen, his work can be seen in a variety of films: Vai que Dá Certo, directed by Maurício Farias (2013 and 2016); Meu Passado Me Condena - O Filme (Julia Rezende, 2013 and 2015); Entre Abelhas (Ian SBF, 2014); Contrato Vitalício (Ian SBF, 2016) and Mude de Vida, Pergunte-me Como (Marcelo Antunez, 2019).
As a voice actor, Porchat lent his voice to play fan favorite Olaf from Frozen (Disney); Chuck from The Angry Birds Movie; and also worked on the animated movie Sausage Party.
In 2019, Porchat launched on GNT his own show titled Que História é Essa, Porchat?, which ended being a huge success. So successful, in fact, that earned a few important awards, among them the acclaimed APCA Award in 2019 as the best TV show. In that same year, Porchat, through his work at Porta dos Fundos, received the Emmy International award for his Christmas Special, aired on Netflix, titled Se Beber, Não Case for Best Comedy.
Last year, he made his debut in a Portuguese TV station with his show Viagens a Portugal, a series which pays homage to the 100th anniversary of José Saramago. And in this year, he will launch yet another TV show for the same TV station called Eu Só Como e Bebo.
After another successful season, Porchat has finished shooting the 4th season of Que História é Essa, Porchat?, which will be aired on both GNT and Rede Globo. Last but no least, he stills puts out weekly sketches on Porta dos Fundos, where he acts and writes the jokes and scenes.
