The preview information for tonight's new episode is telling us that the Dateline NBC team is going to take a deep look at a story about a woman named Lori Vallow Daybell. She was convicted of murdering her two kids along with her husband Chad Daybell. Lori was also found guilty of conspiring to kill Chad's ex-wife Tammy. Even though she's been convicted of these crimes, she still claims she's innocent of them.

The NBC true crime staple has released an unhinged promo on TikTok for tonight’s sit-down between correspondent Keith Morrison and “Mommy Doomsday” Lori Vallow Daybell.

Daybell was convicted of brutally murdering her two youngest children, as part of plot to embark on a new life with her fifth husband, and also conspiring to murder a romantic rival. In 2023, she was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole and this marks her first interview.

The CW is officially moving into true-crime.

The broadcaster has ordered Crime Nation, a 10-part series, from former ABC News president James Goldston.

It comes after Deadline revealed that the Nexstar-owned network was developing its own true-crime strand in the vein of NBC’s Dateline, CBS’ 48 Hours and ABC’s 20/20.

The series, which will premiere in 2024, will follow mysteries, cold cases and investigations. Each episode will be two hours long and will feature ripped-from-the-headlines stories and interviews.

Exclusive: Usg Audio, the podcast division of Universal Studio Group, is ramping up its slate with two new series.

The company, which was previously known as UCP Audio, is launching Close to Death hosted by comedian Utkarsh Ambudkar, and a second season of The Followers.

The shows form part of the nascent division’s audio slate, which has included Alligator Candy, Loot: Scandalous Stories of the Art World, The Greatness with Kareem Maddox and The Lost Kids. The idea is to use its audio stories as a development tool across its TV units, a move that has already seen UCP developing a docuseries around Josh Bloch’s The Lost Kids.
