The third season of House of the Dragon is being shot as we speak. But later this year, the second will get a chance to strut its stuff on stage at the 77th Emmy Awards, or at least that's what HBO hopes. According to Gold Derby, the network has submitted House of the Dragon for a total of 40 potential awards.

Obviously, it's submitted the show for Best Drama Series, the top award of the night. It's submitted 10 actors for consideration. Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen) is the only actor they've put forward for one of the lead categories. House of the Dragon is going big for the Emmys.

Gold Derby has learned that HBO will submit Season 2 of the Game of Thrones prequel series in 40 categories, including for Best Drama Series and 10 of its actors.

Five featured players are being entered in Best Drama Supporting Actor: Matt Smith as King Consort Daemon Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as King Aegon II Targaryen, Ewan Mitchell as Prince Aemond Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, and Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole.

Meanwhile, two performers will be on the Emmy ballot for Best Drama Supporting Actress: Olivia Cooke as Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, and...
