Marvel and DC Comics initially revealed during a ComicsPRO panel back in February that the publishers had been busy cooking up the next big comic book crossover event, and then the news finally broke in May that The Merc with a Mouth and The Dark Knight would indeed be appearing together in the highly anticipated one-shot, Deadpool/Batman #1 this September. At the time, only two different covers drawn by veteran artist Greg Capullo of Batman: Death of the Family and Wolverine: Revenge fame had been revealed. Now, though, a special sneak peek previewing several cool variant covers has dropped online, which features some of DC and Marvel’s most beloved characters, including a battle between Batman and Wolverine. Additional variant covers include Wonder Woman/Captain America, Catwoman/Magik, and Elektra/Batgirl (Cassandra Cain), all of which can also be viewed below.
Marvel Comics will publish the one-shot Deadpool/Batman #1, which will be available on Sept.

There's been reason to doubt "The Batman Part II" would be going forward in the past few years, but the believers are looking vindicated. Writer-director Matt Reeves and his partner Mattson Tomlin announced they'd completed the sequel's script on June 27, 2025. Warner Bros. has since received the script and is apparently quite happy with it. Hence, it's seeming more and more like "The Batman Part II" will make its 2027 release date.
"The Batman" was a nearly three hour-long epic that saw Batman (Robert Pattinson) meet many of his classic foes. The main villain of the movie was the Riddler (Paul Dano), a serial killer out to expose corruption in Gotham. The root of said corruption was mob boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), who' served by gangsters like Oz "The Penguin" Cobb (Colin Farrell). Batman also met Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz...

This September, the moment the comic book industry has waited decades for arrives in Deadpool/Batman #1, a Marvel Comics one-shot that will be followed in November by Batman/Deadpool #1, a one-shot published by DC.
Both crossover comics will feature explosive main stories that pit Marvel's Merc with a Mouth against DC's Caped Crusader, along with backup stories spotlighting additional Marvel/DC team-ups and showdowns.
Deadpool/Batman will be written by Zeb Wells and drawn by industry superstar Greg Capullo. Marvel has revealed the variant covers for Deadpool/Batman, which goes on sale in November.
As you can see in the link above, one of the variant covers clearly parodies Todd McFarlane’s famous cover of The Incredible Hulk No. 340, which showed a snarling Wolverine with the Hulk’s reflection in his claws, but this time, we see a furious Batman with the reflection of Deadpool in his Batarangs. The excellent cover was drawn by Greg Capullo, and it will certainly be a fine addition to your collection.
Another one of the other variant covers, which was drawn by Skottie Young, shows a humorous encounter between Batman and Deadpool on the rooftops above Gotham City, while Mark Bagley provided a foil variant cover showing Batman and Deadpool racing towards the Joker in order to quash whatever evil scheme the Clown Prince of Crime has planned. Marvel Comics and DC Comics are teaming up this September for Deadpool/Batman, a new one-shot featuring the first-ever team-up between the Merc with the Mouth and Gotham City's Dark Knight.
Now, a leaked page from a catalogue of Marvel's September solicits has revealed that we're getting at least three backups with more Marvel and DC characters heading into action together:
"Captain America/Wonder Woman" by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson "Daredevil/Green Arrow" by Kevin Smith and Andy Kubert "Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto" by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru
Those are fun pairings, and it remains to be seen whether additional team-ups are being planned. Spider-Man and Superman will surely be among those highlighted down the line, and Deadpool/Batman is potentially just the first of several new comics planned by the publishers.

Batman has had the fortune of having a fairly illustrious cinematic career. Aside from the odd critical dud like 1995's Batman Forever and 1997's Batman & Robin, the Caped Crusader has generally delivered films that have resonated with both general audiences and comic book diehards. Among that batch of projects, there are two in particular that have soared into the upper echelon of cinemartic greatness: Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008) and Matt Reeves' The Batman (2022).
Both films are revered for their plots, visuals, and most importantly, their takes on Bruce Wayne/Batman. It's difficult to think about which one of the two adaptations could be better than the other, but that's exactly what I want to ask to the community.
The Dark Knight Or The Batman?
Between The Dark Knight and The Batman, which one do you think is the better movie? Trust me, I know, this is difficult.

It’s been over 20 years since Marvel and DC Comics did a crossover. The last time it happened was 2003 in the Jla/Avengers. Before that, it was DC vs. Marvel, which had matches like Wolverine vs. Lobo, Superman vs. Hulk, and Captain America vs. Batman. After so long, both companies have decided to collaborate again in an event that no one saw coming. It’ll be the “Merc With A Mouth” Deadpool and “The Dark Knight” Batman.
The recently-announced crossover titled Deadpool/Batman will be written by Zeb Wells (Amazing Spider-Man and Deadpool and Wolverine) with art by Greg Capullo (Batman and Wolverine: Revenge). Together, they’ll create a one-shot where Wade Wilson is on a job that sends him to Gotham City. And, shocking to no one, Batman doesn't have the patience for Wade's shenanigans. However, according to Marvel.com, thanks to The Joker, the two will team up to stop him.

Back in February at the ComicsPro retailer expo, we got word that a new Marvel Comics/DC Comics crossover was in the works. No details were disclosed at the time, but thanks to EW, we now know which characters this massive event will focus on.

That's right, Deadpooland Batman are about to face off in a couple of stories no DC or Marvel fan saw coming. Marvel and DC will be working together for the first time in more than twenty years. A new comic book limited adventure will see Batman crossing paths with Deadpool. The crossover was confirmed by both companies via Entertainment Weekly, with the comic book hitting shelves on September 17. The last time the two biggest publishers on the market worked together for an exciting adventure was in 2003, making the new adventure featuring Batman and Deadpool much more special. Greg Capullo, an artist who previously worked on the main Batmantitle, drew one of the covers for this story.
The Deadpool/Batman one-shot will see Wade Wilson sent to Gotham City on a very important mission, and Bruce Wayne won't be pleased about the fact that such an unreliable threat will be loose in his city. The character of Venom is about to get his very own horror-themed series called Venom: Black, White and Blood. The Black, White, and Blood title has been attributed to several Marvel-housed characters over the years as a means of presenting a more violent, R-rated take on classic heroes and villains, even scarier than the Venom movie trilogy. More recently, Marvel announced such an anthology series for the Predator franchise.
According to Bloody Disgusting, Marvel will be launching Venom: Black, White & Blood #1 (the first of four issues)on August 20. The first issue is written by Davie Michelinie, J.M. DeMatteis, and Ryan North with art by Jonas Scharf, Dave Wachter, and Creees Lee. Below, readers can find cover art and variants from Greg Capullo, Mark Bagley, Peach Momoko, and Doaly.
The series will offer a collection of stories from Venom's history, including J.M. DeMatteis and Dave Wachter's "Fathers and Sons," taking place after Macimum Carnage.

After the previous turned into ‘Old Man Logan Lite’, this final issue takes yet another turn in tone and delivers a somewhat satisfactory conclusion. It is probably not the tone and conclusion you would have expected when this series started, but yeah, it does deliver something! The story opens with a flashback to Colossus and his son sharing some quality time together. I don’t want to say this seems forced, its inclusion is obviously for the emotional baggage come the stories’ end. But like I said, this story takes a diversion from how it started. If this relationship had been established in the previous four issues it would have carried even more of an emotional gut punch in this issue. All the best bits in this issue come from the nods and winks to comics past.

After being introduced in the pages of Amazing Fantasy, Spider-Man got his own title – and he shared the cover of The Amazing Spider-Man #1 with the members of the Fantastic Four, the team of superheroes that had been introduced to the world by Marvel Comics a year and a half earlier. Kevin Smith made a huge splash in comics when he rebooted Daredevil in the late 90’s, and now the filmmaker is returning to Marvel with an all-new Spider-Man story. Smith is just one name in an all-star creative line-up which will be gathered together in one oversized special set to be released in June.
Announced via Marvel.com, Giant-Size Spider-Man #1 will feature three stories from the creative teams of Kevin Smith & Giuseppe Camuncoli, Al Ewing & Mark Buckingham and Chip Zdarsky & Cafu.
Paying homage to the “Giant-Size” issues released by Marvel in the seventies, the new special will also contain the first appearance of an all-new character, one that Marvel promises will “play a big role in the near future.”

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Deadpool/Wolverine #1! Deadpool has had no shortage of costume and design changes in Marvel Comics, from his darker X-Force suit to Deadpool’s more recent Wwiii redesign. However, his newest suit isn’t just an aesthetic change, but rather the set-up for a major problem that will potentially impact the entire Marvel Universe. In fact, this new suit in question has effectively linked Deadpool with a greatly forgotten ‘90s X-Men villain - one who is primed for a major comeback.
In Deadpool/Wolverine #1 by Benjamin Percy and Joshua Cassara, Deadpool recruits Wolverine for a mission, which isn’t entirely out of the ordinary, but it is in this case. Not so much because of the mission itself, but because of the way Deadpool was acting. Rather than being his incessantly talkative self, Deadpool was acting more like a Terminator. Batman & Robin Year One is the story of the first year of Batman and Robin's adventures together. The first issue was released back on October 16, 2024, but I'm playing a bit of catch up. I heard good things about the series from friends and decided to give it a go. I bought all three released issues and don't regret it one bit.
Spoilers for Batman & Robin Year One below.
When looking at the front cover, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the art. Chris Samnee's style isn't my favorite style for comics but it works well with the story being told. The dark, thick lines are reminiscent of Batman: The Animated Series and fit with the lighter tone of the story so far.
The issue begins with Bruce and Alfred discussing the efficacy of allowing Dick Grayson to become Robin. Bruce’s main concern...

Spoilers for "The Penguin" to follow.
"The Penguin" was a good show but it's barely sated my appetite for "The Batman: Part II." Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight himself never shows up in "The Penguin" and it's difficult to glean how the series' events and cast will carry over into the sequel. Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell) is Gotham City's new kingpin, but we already expected that from the end of "The Batman."
So, Bat-fans are digging deeper for any hints of "Part II" in "The Penguin." (The world's greatest detective would be proud.) One Easter egg suggests we might be seeing Doctor Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow in the "Batman" sequel. Another in the "Penguin" finale episode "A Great or Little Thing" hints that Batman may not only be fighting the Penguin, but a different kind of bird (and these ones...

With a nickname like the Dark Knight, it’s no wonder that Batman is often considered one of DC Comics’ most melancholy heroes. From his reputation as a brooding loner to his traditional darker color scheme, Bruce Wayne is, in many ways, one of fiction’s greatest emo boys.
Throughout his decades of history, Wayne has proven on more than one occasion just how much of an edgelord he can really be. And while this list can’t possibly cover every aspect of Bruce’s decades-long goth phase, the entries below are some of Batman’s greatest emo moments that fans won’t want to forget.

No one in the DC Universe has a better or more famous collection of villains than Batman. And while he may be known for more grounded, street-level bad guys like Two-Face or the Riddler, a lot of the Caped Crusader’s foes do, in fact, have superpowers.

A TikTok user shared their amazing cosplay of the Batman Who Laughs. While the DC Universe has many villainous alternate versions of its heroes, the Batman Who Laughs is one of the most popular. Created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo in 2017, the character headlined his own miniseries in 2019. He is the Earth-22 Batman who was transformed by the Joker and turned his son Damian into a mini-Joker, akin to Tim Drake's transformation in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. The Batman Who Laughs became so popular, he spurred the creation of many similar variants of other DC characters.
Naturally, this level of popularity lends itself to fan art and cosplay. User @batmanwholaughs666 posted their incredibly active cosplay to TikTok, spawning a lot of excited comments from other users.

In a surprise reveal, Wolverine has named the X-Men hero he considers "the best of us." Fans might be expecting Wolverine to have named his best friend Nightcrawler, longtime love Jean Grey, former girlfriend Storm, protg Kate 'Kitty' Pryde, or even frenemy Cyclops, however Logan considers a different hero the true moral heart of the team - one who joined the Merry Mutants on the same day as Wolverine himself.
In Greg Capullo, Jonathan Hickman, Tim Townsend, Cory Petit and Fco Plascencia's Wolverine: Revenge #3, Logan goes up against his X-Men ally Colossus after Piotr Rasputin betrayed him, siding with the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Batman and the Joker have been fighting one another for decades, and that entire time, the Joker has been learning and evolving, proving that the monster he eventually turns into is Batman's fault. While Batman is known for being the man with a contingency plan, the Joker can also claim the same.
The Joker likes to style himself as a madman who doesn't really have a plan. He's an agent of chaos who goes along with whatever whim he has at the moment. While this reputation is certainly terrifying, it's not entirely accurate, as revealed by the first issue of his first solo series: The Joker #1 by Denny O'Neil, Irv Novick, and Dick Giordano.

Superman & Lois fans finally got to see Michael Cudlitz embrace Lex Luthor's classic comic book look in Season 4, Episode 8, "Sharp Dressed Man." According to the actor, appearing in a tailored suit with a shaved head and no beard felt like a full-circle moment.
"It was awesome. I felt like we'd come full circle, finishing up the season with this iconic, traditional, current-day Lex look," Cudlitz told Entertainment Weekly. "The way I shot the beginning, the cold opening, I really wanted to have it be just a complete reveal for the audience. It's an incredible reveal visually, because everybody's been wanting this Lex and asking, where is it? And even the people who early on were not happy about the beard, they've come around, most of them."

The new Captain America: Brave New World trailer indicates an ode to slick spy thrillers from Soderbergh or Spielberg, but its new promotional poster released boasts clear comic book inspiration. Easily missed by the naked eye, former Captain America artist and writer Bob Layton took to social media to point out the poster's apparent muse: his work.
Your browser does not support the video tag.
"Imagine my surprise yesterday when I saw that the new poster for Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World recreates the classic cover of Captain America #230 by Ron Wilson and me," the prolific comic book creator shared on X (formerly Twitter). The movie poster shows Sam Wilson's Captain America fending off Harrison Ford's Red Hulk with his inherited shield, a clear homage to Wilson and Layton's #230 cover, where Steve Rogers faces the classic Hulk. The duo has yet to be credited for the poster.

Theo Rossi's Dr. Julian Rush is one of The Penguin's most intriguing supporting characters; he's also a complete creep and someone with a weird, unhealthy infatuation with his former - and now current - patient, Sofia Falcone.
Rush was created for this series and, contrary to online theories, wasn't ultimately revealed as Dr. Hugo Strange. However, new evidence has surfaced which suggests he was either meant to be Dr. Jonathan Crane or at least someone with close ties to Scarecrow.
As you can see below, episode 4 - "Cent'Anni" - features both Scarecrow's mask and his syringe glove on two stands. The credits have rolled on Lauren LeFranc’s The Penguin, and after eight episodes of murder, mobsters, and ‘ma,’ Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell) has waddled his way to the top of Gotham City’s slippery crime ladder. Although The Penguin was always tipped to be a one-and-done miniseries, there’s already talk of a potential season 2. While LeFranc, Farrell, and The Batman director Matt Reeves mull over the idea, at least fans know Cobb is locked in to appear in The Batman: Part II, which will come out in theaters in 2026.
As a sequel to 2022’s The Batman, Part II will pick up directly after the events of The Penguin and make the most of the show’s winter setting. With this, there’s been obvious talk about Mr. Freeze stepping up as the movie’s big bad, with Reeves having previously said he’d be interested in a "grounded" version of the character.

Wolverine is very much the lone wolf in the wilderness in this second outing, even letting the...

Warning: Contains spoilers for Wolverine: Revenge #3!!
Colossus is a mutant powerhouse, but even his physical abilities and organic steel body don't typically make him Hulk's equal. One alternate reality fight with Wolverine has, at last, revealed that Piotr Rasputin rivals the Incredible Hulk in strength after he completes one of the green Avenger's more controversial feats. By ripping one of Logan's arms off, Colossus becomes one of only three beings capable of tearing Wolverine to pieces.
Wolverine: Revenge #3 brings the confrontation Wolverine has waited for. After killing the rest of the Brotherhood, he finds his former friend, Piotr Rasputin, to end things completely. Their shared history wasn't enough to keep Colossus fighting for the good guys, just as it isn't enough for Logan to spare his old comrade's life.
Taking Colossus down is anything but easy, however, as the fight opens with Piotr pulling a stunt that was a stretch even for the Hulk.

It’s the final week of the month meaning that there aren’t a lot of new releases. Does that mean there aren’t any good comic books to pick up? Of course not! Marvel Comics and Boom! Studios have you covered.
As always, let’s start with the pick of the week.
Amazing Spider-Man No. 60 (pick of the week)Writers: Zeb Wells and Joe KellyArtists: Ed McGuinness, Mark Buckingham, Paolo Rivera, Patrick Gleason, Todd Nauck, and Alessandro Cappuccio
This is the final issue of Zeb Wells’ run. Love it or hate it (and I loved it), but it was consistently purchased and talked about every month. But everything must come to an end. In this finale, the story will lead into the next Spidey tale, The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man.
This is an oversized Amazing Spider-Man that will likely have conclusions to most of Zeb Wells’ storylines. Will Mary Jane and Paul stay together?...

Warning: Spoilers for Wolverine: Revenge #3Wolverine and Colossus have their final showdown, ending their friendship and camaraderie with the perfect symbol. After killing Mastermind and Sabretooth in the previous issue of Wolverine: Revenge, as well as Omega Red and Deadpool earlier in this issue, Logan comes face to face with Piotr one last time in Russia.
Wolverine: Revenge #3 by Jonathan Hickman, Greg Capullo, Tim Townsend, Fco Plascencia, and Cory Petit sees Wolverine crossing off each of the names on his list, leading him to a confrontation with Colussus. Despite Colossus trying to dissuade Logan from ending things with a fight, the pair engage in a brawl.
This last fight between the two former friends is hard-hitting, with Colossus leveraging his strength to get a few good hits, even managing to tear off one of Logans arms. But Wolverine ultimately proves himself the victor of their fight by stabbing Colossus through the head.

Wolverine #1 Writer: Saladin Ahmed | Artist: Martin Coccolo | Colourist: Bryan Valenza | Letters: Cory Petit
Wolverine comes roaring back with a new number one. It’s good that we didn’t have too long a wait between one series ending and the next one starting. After all, we are in his 50th year so he should have an ongoing on the shelves. Everyone who has read my reviews over the last few years will know how much I enjoyed Benjamin Percy’s time on Wolverine. But as soon as the new direction was announced I was excited for the future. I read Ahmed’s first issue of Daredevil last year and I thought he brought a good combination of tried and trusted Daredevil lore and some new ideas. In short, he brings the same to the table in this first issue of Wolverine. I have two negative takeaways from the issue, but...
