Growing up in low-income housing in a suburban town, she became independent and curious about the world. Despite facing challenges such as being on special education programs, Samari pursued her dreams and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, obtaining dual degrees in Economics & Political Science. Samari's passion for finance and accounting led her to work for a Massachusetts State Agency in accounting and later as a Financial Analyst at Albert Einstein in New York City. She recently founded The Female Economist, a platform that teaches financial literacy to marginalized groups through articles, courses, webinars, and pairing individuals with certified financial advisors. With a mission to make life easier for others by teaching millennials how to fully understand how wealth circulates in our economy, Samari is striving for change and inclusivity in the finance realm.Samari Ijezie is a second-generation immigrant and first-generation college graduate from Boston, MA, who overcame challenges growing up in low-income housing.
