Osgood Perkins, the director of modern horror gems like Longlegs and The Monkey, continues to consolidate his position as one of the genre's most interesting visionaries. His latest project, Keeper, is shrouded in secrecy, but the film's distributor is once again proving they are the masters of modern film marketing. Following an exciting announcement of a deal they have put together with Perkins, Neon has released an unsettling video that teases the director's upcoming movie and its bizarre marketing campaign. Things are about to get weird.
Using YouTube, Neon went on a livestream yesterday. The video titled "It has no end" ran for precisely 66 minutes and six seconds – a running time that has to mean something. The video, which is currently available to play on YouTube, presents a nightmarish and repetitive image of a woman (Tatiana Maslany) staring at the camera, while a hand scribbles something on a notebook. In early 2025, Neon released its second horror film of the year, The Monkey, and tons of people headed to the theaters to see it on the big screen. Coming from Osgood Perkins, the same creative behind the smash hit horror film Longlegs, people had high hopes that they were in for another unforgettable cinematic experience. But while the film managed to fare well at the box office, it wasn't received quite as warmly by audiences. Hopefully, Perkins' upcoming horror movie Keeper manages to offer viewers a truly chilling experience this time around. Neon just unveiled the first teaser trailer, and despite its minimal action, it’s surprisingly creepier than you’d expect.
Unlike Longlegs and The Monkey, which Perkins both wrote and directed, he only helmed Keeper. Nick Lepard (Dangerous Animals) wrote the screenplay. Tatiana Maslany, who starred as Lois Shelburn in The Monkey, works together again with Perkins in this new movie,...

Osgood Perkins is to Neon as Ari Aster is to A24. Does that make sense? Both are acclaimed filmmakers known for their horror movies who have produced multiple hit movies for their respective indie distributors.
Perkins is set to continue making movies for Neon thanks to a new first-look deal involving his new banner, Phobos. The Hollywood Reporter shares that the director will run his company alongside partner Chris Ferguson and under the deal, "Neon will serve as the home for Perkins' projects, which he and Ferguson will produce."
Additionally, the deal allows for Phobos co-owners Perkins and Ferguson to produce other movies being released by Neon, who will be responsible for the theatrical releases in the United States and represent that international sales.

Neon and Longlegs director Osgood Perkins are keeping the good times rolling after striking a deal to remain collaborative partners. The new production studio, Phobos, finds Perkins and Chris Ferguson entering a first-look deal with Neon to continue scaring the bejesus out of horror fans. According to Variety, “Perkins and Ferguson will jointly produce upcoming projects, with Neon serving as the home for films that Perkins writes and directs, as well as those he produces for other filmmakers.” Variety also notes in today’s report, “Neon will release the films theatrically in the U.S. and represent the international sales rights.” Now, a bizarre promotional video for Perkins’ latest project, Keeper, is live on Neon’s YouTube channel, and it’s f**king strange, y’all.

Acclaimed horror filmmaker Osgood Perkins continues to give audiences something completely different from what he’s done before with the arrival of the debut teaser for Keeper. However, it's not perhaps the teaser some may be expecting, as, in perfect Osgood Perkins fashion, Keeper is already kicking off a very unusual marketing campaign. A new livestream posted by Neon sees Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) staring at the camera and writing something in a seemingly endless loop, giving viewers an ominous taste of what's to come in the mysterious new project.
The film, which is due out later this year, is the latest in the filmmaker’s string of horror projects, and looks to deliver something from a completely different subgenre than what we saw in The Monkey and Longlegs. Starring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland (Orphan: First Kill), the movie follows a couple who travel to a remote cabin in the woods.

The mysterious film has been described as “a dark trip from Osgood Perkins,” and this first teaser certainly doesn’t provide us with any further information. Rather, it’s an endlessly looping video of a woman scribbling in a notebook, providing an oddly chilling bit of Asmr.

After striking box office gold together with both Longlegs and The Monkey, Neon and Osgood Perkins will be staying in business together with Perkins’ new horror movie Keeper later this year, and the relationship doesn’t end there. Variety reports today that Neon and Perkins are both making the smart decision to continue working together in the years to come.
In addition to launching his own production banner titled Phobos, alongside Chris Ferguson, Perkins has also signed a first look deal with Neon. What does that mean, you ask?
Variety details the deal as follows: “Perkins and Ferguson will jointly produce upcoming projects, with Neon serving as the home for films that Perkins writes and directs, as well as those he produces for other filmmakers.” Variety also notes in today’s report, “Neon will release the films theatrically in the U.S. and represent the international sales rights.”

After a series of hits, Osgood Perkins has a permanent home at Neon. The independent film production and distribution company has set a first-look deal with the “Longlegs” and “The Monkey” director.
Ahead of his next film “Keeper,” which will drop a new trailer later on Wednesday, Perkins is launching his Phobos production banner with partner Chris Ferguson.
“Ever hear the one about the filmmaker who madly loves his distributor? No? That’s because I think this might be the very first time it’s happened in our business where even brief phone calls can be rough,” Perkins shared in a statement. “Meanwhile, here I am with Neon, like: ‘You hang up first, no you hang up first!’ I couldn’t be happier.”
“There’s only one Osgood Perkins — fearless, deeply imaginative, relentlessly funny and operating on a frequency that’s all his own,” Neon CEO/founder Tom Quinn added.

It may have been hard to predict back in 2009, but Isabelle Fuhrman's Esther has become something of a horror movie mainstay thanks to the film Orphan and its 2022 prequel, Orphan: First Kill. No doubt making everyone suspicious of "kids," the films have been a bright spot for the horror genre and that's thanks in large part to the performance of Isabelle Fuhrman, who brings the psychopathic Ester to life with relentless glee. Thanks to the success of the first two films, a third installment is on the way and Fuhrman has teased what's to come in the "wilder and crazier" follow-up.
Per Bloody Disgusting, Fuhrman was in attendance at Spookala in Tampa, taking the opportunity to discuss Orphan 3. The actress confirmed that the script has been written for the third installment and that it's even "crazier" than what has come before.

With 65 novels, over 200 short stories, and over 400 million copies sold, Stephen King is one of the most prolific authors in modern literature. King has dabbled in numerous genres, including thriller, science fiction, fantasy, and most notably, horror. Some of his best books have been brought to the screen, and his responses have ranged from endorsing them to being deeply critical of them, most notably with Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of "The Shining." Many filmmakers have had the opportunity to bring King's stories to the big screen, the most recent filmmaker being Oz Perkins, director of "The Monkey," which is based on the short story of the same name originally published in a November 1980 issue of the adult magazine "Gallery" and featured in King's "Skeleton Crew" short story collection, published in 1985.

Murder in a Small Town just added an Oscar winner to the Season 2 cast, which will boost the show's energy!
One of Fox's nicer surprises in 2024 was Murder in a Small Town. Based on the books by L.R. Wright, the series stars Rossif Sutherland as Karl Alberg, a former big-city cop who moves to the small British Columbia town of Gibsons to become its police chief.
Alberg soon starts a relationship with librarian Cassandra (Kristin Kreuk) as he solves a variety of murders and other crimes in the town. The show has had a notable guest star cast that includes Stana Katic, Erica Durance, and others. It was a good success that landed a second-season renewal.

Nicolas Cage's serial killer horror film of 2024, Longlegs, has a streaming release date. After the film's groundbreaking success, it rushed into digital services in August 2024. Now it's set to start streaming on February 14. Longlegs will be added to the Hulu library just in time for Valentine's Day. We don't know of a more polarizing film to celebrate this lovely holiday with, but we're guessing some horror fans will be excited as they have found the perfect reason to stay home and watch a movie with their loved one.
Directed by Osgood "Oz" Perkins, Longlegs stars Cage alongside modern horror queen Maika Monroe, as well as Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Dakota Daulby, and Kiernan Shipka. The film cost less than $10 million, but it made over $126 million, breaking several records in 2024. It was the highest-grossing indie film of the year, and director Osgood Perkins' most successful film to date. Longlegs was also well-received by critics,...

A third installment in the Orphan horror film series is currently in the works at Lionsgate. Isabella Fuhrman, who played the psychopathic Esther in the first two movies, recently offered some insight into the script for the upcoming Orphan 3.
"I've read the script, and while I don't want to give anything away, it's the only reason I would go back and do another one," Fuhrman told The Hollywood Reporter. "When they first said, 'We're going to make another one,' I was like, 'You guys are nuts!' But the script is so good. I was like, Ok! A hundred percent. This is a great idea, actually.' So I'm really excited for the fans of the franchise. It's funny to even say that because it wasn't a franchise when I signed onto it at nine years old. So I'm just really grateful that it has turned into something that is so much bigger.

Fox is sticking with murder, mystery, and intrigue by giving out a Season 2 renewal to their hit murder mystery series, Murder in a Small Town, a show based on the books by author L.R. Wright. It's no surprise that the show has become a hit for the network because crime series tend to be an easy go-to for TV audiences.
Per Deadline, Fox has renewed Murder in a Small Town for a second season. The series, which stars Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk, is based on the aforementioned Wright books. Of the nine books currently in the series, roughly four to five were used for the basis of Season 1, which means that there are three or four more books worth of mysteries left for viewers to dive into for the second season (and beyond).

Initially, Murder in a Small Town began as a two-hour movie thirty years ago. Over the years, it grew into a combined series between Canada and Fox TV.
Murder in a Small Town Season 1 had its ups and downs as it tried to find its footing and establish itself as a murder mystery procedural.
While we think the series would have benefited from more episodes, it only had eight, so it’s time to rank and review its most memorable and least satisfying series moments.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Murder in a Small Town season 1, episode 8, "Sleep While I Sing."Murder in a Small Town delivers a lovely romance between its leading Karl Alberg and Cassandra Lee characters, but the series cheapened the love story in the season finale. That being said, the Fox mystery series didn't have much choice if it wanted to wrap things up nicely, regardless of what comes of season 2. Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk play the leading love birds. Additionally, Murder in a Small Town broke an overused network romance TV trope by allowing Karl and Cass to dive into their relationship head-first in the pilot of the eight-episode season.
Still, it wouldn't be network TV or a proper romance without a bit of conflict. After experiencing doubts about his role as a law enforcement officer, Cassandra's worries come to a head when Gordon Murphy (Devon Sawa) abducts...

Fox’s new crime thriller, “Murder in a Small Town,” wrapped up its first season with a thrilling ending, and fans and network executives are discussing a possible second season. The season-ending episode not only concluded the central murder case but also reunited its main characters in an unexpected twist.
Executive Producer Jeff Wachtel noted that the conclusion, titled “Sleep While I Sing,” skillfully balanced the show’s crime story with the delicate relationship between Detective Alberg (Rossif Sutherland) and Cassandra (Kristin Kreuk). The episode saw the couple reconnecting after a difficult season, with Alberg publicly declaring his dedication to their relationship.
“We looked at every possibility for their story,” Wachtel added. “Cassandra was clear about her hesitation to date a police officer, which made their reunion even more meaningful.”
The finale effectively concluded the season’s serial killer narrative featuring Tommy Cummins (Noah Reid) while laying the groundwork for future developments.
