Sonic 3 Movie: Super Shadow’s Debut Hinted At By New Clip
Image
A new featurette from the cast of Sonic 3 may have accidentally spoiled the debut of Super Shadow.

Sonic the Hedgehog has been a shockingly successful franchise for Paramount Pictures, especially as it has leaned more and more on the source material. Not only did Jim Carrey become more like the villainous Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but it also debuted Sonic's iconic Super form.

However, with the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 only a month away, fans have become increasingly manic than ever regarding marketing. It's gotten so bad that fans have developed theories on the debut of Amy Rose based on a sweater in a poster.

Sonic the Hedgehog Fan-Favorite Casting Idea Addressed by Emmy Winner Sarah Paulson
Image
If you told somebody just 10 years ago that Sonic the Hedgehog would be part of a successful trilogy and a spin-off show, there's a good chance that person would instantly turn and walk away from you, appalled by your ridiculousness. Against all odds, including an initial Sonic design so maligned by the fanbase that Paramount had to give it an overhaul, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set for a release this December and fan-favorite character Shadow the Hedgehog is making his live-action debut, voiced by Keanu Reeves. With Reeves in the saddle, Sonic fans are shooting their shot and fan-casting Emmy Award-winner Sarah Paulson as another fan-favorite: Rouge the Bat.

Currently, there's no movement in her voicing the role, and according to Paulson herself, it doesn't seem likely. She recently told Comicbook.com that nobody has called her about playing Rouge, but she's open to the idea.

"Nobody has called me about playing Rouge the Bat,...

Sonic Flips a Franchise Trope On Its Head While Teaming Up With Eggman
Image
Sonic teams up with Dr. Eggman after a race in Sonic #69, leading to a relevant and unexpected alliance. Clean Sweepstakes race reveals a conspiracy against Sonic's Restoration, with Sonic and Tails' cyborg replacements, Surge and Ki. Sonic's past races in the comic series have been lackluster, making the relevance of the race in #69 a surprising and welcome change.

Warning: Spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog #69It was a risk when Idw Publishing promoted Sonic the Hedgehog #69 as an issue about a random race when such events have not performed well in the overall comic franchise. But against all odds, the race itself, while unremarkable itself, actually turned out to be quite relevant because it led to Sonic teaming up with Dr. Eggman.

Sonic #69 by story writer Evan Stanley, inker Min Ho Kim, colorist Reggie Graham with assistants Jonathon Dobbs and Rik Mack, and letterer Shawn Lee, the Clean Sweepstakes race ends in disaster when Sonic,...

How Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Can Set Up The Two Biggest Missing Sonic Characters
Image
Warning: Spoilers ahead for the video game Sonic Adventure 2!

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will introduce Shadow to the movie universe, but two important characters to his story, Rouge the Bat and Amy Rose, are unconfirmed for the film. While Amy is important to Shadow's game debut in Sonic Adventure 2, she could instead appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 3's post-credits scene. Amy's post-credit appearance could set the stage for a Sonic CD adaptation in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, positioning her as a new hero while establishing Metal Sonic's role as the next big antagonist.

A theory about which characters could show up in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, sets the stage for one missing team member from the games, whose unexpected appearance could make for the perfect Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will introduce Shadow to the cinematic universe, focusing on the threat he poses to Sonic and his friends.

10 Best Sonic the Hedgehog Villains (Who Aren't Robotnik)
Image
Dr. Robotnik, aka Dr. Eggman, is undoubtedly the most recognizable villain in Sonic the Hedgehog lore, to the extent that casual fans might consider him to be Sonic's only nemesis. But there are so many others, especially in Archie and Idw's comic continuities, that get unfairly but understandably overshadowed as a result of the mad scientist's popularity.

Sonic has a long, long history in comics, where his world and villains are fleshed-out in unprecedented ways. Here are ten of the very best, from current stories to Sonic's oldest adventures. Some are tragic, some are terrifying, and some even deserve to be recognized alongside Eggman when it comes to Sonic's biggest and baddest.

Rosy the Rascal

Rosy the Rascal is the dark mirror version of Amy Rose. Archie Comics' iteration of Amy Rose is less problematic than other depictions, but her unhealthy romantic obsession with Sonic is still present.

Sonic's Greatest Duo is Fixing the Franchise's Female Representation
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog #57Idw Publishing's Sonic the Hedgehog is actively adding an array of much-needed female heroes to its male-dominated roster, and at the core of this movement is Whisper the Wolf and Tangle the Lemur's rocky relationship.

After being apart for quite some time, the two are now reunited once more, but troubles persist in Sonic the Hedgehog #57 by writer Ian Flynn, artist Adam Bryce Thomas, colorist Matt Herms, and letterer Shawn Lee. Tangle presumptuously names Sonic's new attack squad the Diamond-Cutters after Whisper's former team that ended tragically, without asking permission, and then acts rashly during their mission, all of which cause Whisper to distance herself from Tangle. Meanwhile, Tangle voices frustration at Whisper for putting herself in danger by going solo.

Whisper and Tangle are incompatible

Aside from Amy Rose, who's tainted by Sega's twisted need to incessantly make her look like a fool with Sonic,...
