Matt Amodio won his second game of the 2025 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament on Thursday, March 6, meaning he won the entire tournament. He played against Roger Craig and Juveria Zaheer and is now speaking out about his first tournament win. The champion appeared on the Inside Jeopardy! Podcast the day after his win to talk about his fellow competitors, how he practiced, and what’s next for him. Amodio had finished in third and sixth on Jeopardy! Masters, so winning feels good, he shared. Podcast host Sarah Whitcomb-Foss asked Amodio how he felt going into the competition going up against 26 other Jeopardy! greats. Out of the contestants, Amodio had only ever played against Amy Schneider and Jonathan Fisher. “I didn’t feel great about it,” he shared. “There were some people that I’ve been a big fan of and then some I didn’t know but wowed me. Knowing how much talent was in this pool,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Thursday, March 6, episode of Jeopardy!] After Matt Amodio racked up the second-highest score of the entire season, he returned for game two of the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament finals to try and win it all. He played once again against Roger Craig, from Arlington, Virginia, and Juveria Zaheer, from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, on Thursday, March 6. Despite both Amodio, from New York, New York, and Craig being fast on the buzzer, Zaheer racked up money in the beginning of the game due to the category “Canadiana,” where the questions were about Canada, where she lives. Zaheer, a psychiatrist, also correctly answered a question about a female Canadian hockey player. This brought her to the lead with $2,400. Craig, an applied scientist, then correctly answered the first Daily Double of the game, giving him second place. Amodio, a quantitative researcher, then answered questions correctly, putting him in the lead before the first commercial break. However, he ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Tuesday, March 4 episode of Jeopardy!] The last semifinals of the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament came down to a gutsy wager. It all came down to Final Jeopardy! to determine who was moving on to the finals. Juveria Zaheer, from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, played against fellow Canadian, Ray Lalonde, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Raymond Goslow, from Marietta, Georgia. The game started with a battle between Zaheer and Goslow, with one answering a handful of questions then the other. Meanwhile, Lalonde, a scenic artist, was in the hole with -$800. However, he did know a question about cigars, bringing his total up to $0. Goslow, a library technology consultant, was in the lead until he found the first Daily Double. He wagered all of his money and plummeted to $0 when he answered incorrectly. However, he quickly turned his game around to tie Zaheer, a psychiatrist, by the end of the first round. After the last quarterfinals of the Jeopardy! Zaheer, from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, played against Seth Wilson, 12-game Jeopardy! winner, and Jackson Jones, 2019 Teen Tournament semifinalist and 2023 High School Reunion Tournament runner-up. The game started off pretty equally as all three game show contestants correctly answered questions. However, Zaheer fell to last place when she bet it all on the first Daily Double. The crowd went wild when the psychiatrist found it, cheering and hollering in their seats. “The structure called this, after the old city of Tokyo, was built; over centuries it expanded greatly, then contracted,” the clue read. Drew Basile is returning to reality competition television, this time testing his wits on the game show Jeopardy!. The episode in which he appears is set to air Wednesday, June 19. The Survivor 45 contestant made the announcement in an Instagram post on Tuesday, June 4. Basile most recently competed as one of 18 contestants on CBS’ Survivor Season 45, placing sixth overall. A college graduate from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied English and Philosophy, the 23-year-old was (perhaps fittingly) named the season’s “know-it-all.” Praised as a strong strategist, he often had a handle on the majority vote, until he was voted out after a shocking switch by one of his fellow contestants. Basile even identified himself as a “nerd” throughout the season. Basile, believed to be the first to appear on both competition shows, is currently pursuing his masters in English Literature at the University of Oxford in England. In January this year,...

Troy Meyer scored a major win in the second game of the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions finals on March 13, marking a massive improvement from his third-place loss in the March 12 matchup. With a potentially record-breaking final score and a Daily Double wager that had the live audience screaming with excitement, fans online are praising his “stunning” playing. Troy was up against fellow finalists Ben Chan, who won the March 12 game, and Yogesh Raut. Yogesh was seeking redemption after his shocking Final Jeopardy wager landed him in second place in the first game of the finals. In Game 2, he bet it all in his Final Jeopardy wager instead of zero. But even doubling his score from 20,400 to 40,800 wasn’t enough to beat Troy. “On a normal day, Yogesh, that would win a Jeopardy game,” host Ken Jennings joked. “But Troy Meyer has $46,800. That is our highest total going into Final Jeopardy of the season,...

Jeopardy!‘s chaotic Tournament of Champions has its semifinalists after Wednesday’s (March 6) last quarterfinal game, which saw Troy Meyer cement himself as the potential new frontrunner. Meyer, a music executive and professional quizzer from Tampa, Florida, who won six games during Season 39, returned to the Alex Trebek Stage with a point to prove. He was up against Sean McShane, a tour guide from South Boston, Massachusetts, and Deb Bilodeau, a restaurant server from San Francisco, California. While other favorites like Cris Pannullo, Hannah Wilson, and Juveria Zaheer were knocked out of the competition early, Meyer lived up to expectations with a dominant performance. Meyer took an early lead in the first round, answering 14 clues correctly and amassing $7,000. He then leveled up in Double Jeopardy, finding and successfully answering both Daily Doubles, which put him in a runaway position with more than a third of the round still to play.

The latest Tournament of Champions on Jeopardy! has delivered many shocking moments.
Tuesday’s new episode was another for the books after Ben Chan comfortably beat out fellow champions Justin Bolsen and Emmett Stanton.
At the beginning of the high-octane installment, host Ken Jennings discussed how the 2024 Tournament of Champions has been the most “dramatic in history.”
Going into the episode, Chan was seen as a strong competitor, with nine initial wins. Still, given that many strong competitors had already lost their spot in the tournament, nothing was off the table.
From the jump, Chan had a comfortable lead, snagging a Daily Double at $7,000.
By the time we got to Double Jeopardy!, he had banked $11,400, compared to Bolsen’s $1,600 and Stanton’s $3,200.
Ben Chan’s victory was imminent
By the Final Jeopardy!, he had amassed $29,800, so it was inevitable he would be leaving with the win and advance to the semifinals.

Order has been restored to Jeopardy!‘s 2024 Tournament of Champions thanks to fan favorite Ben Chan, who won Tuesday night’s (March 5) episode in dominant fashion. Chan, who won nine consecutive games in Season 39 before a controversial wrong-letter ruling knocked him out, entered the Toc as one of the front-runners. However, so far, this has been a cursed competition for the favorites, turning into the Tournament of Death with Cris Pannullo, Hannah Wilson, Juveria Zaheer, and Ray Lalonde all losing their quarter-final games. The philosophy professor from Green Bay, Wisconsin, broke the curse on Tuesday as he faced off against Emmett Stanton, a freelance writer from Baltimore, Maryland, and Justin Bolsen, a public policy economics student at Brown University from Canton, Georgia, who won last year’s High School Reunion Tournament. Chan set the pace right from the off when he clinched a true Daily Double and took an early lead with six correct clues.

Jeopardy! Tournament of the Champions has been firing from all cylinders, with countless power shifts that have changed the trajectory of the competition.
Things took quite the turn on Friday with an episode that some fans felt was “weird” and “unpredictable,” depending on who you ask.
Brian Henegar, Josh Saak, and Stephen Webb faced off as the game went in various directions in a short time before one of them was crowned the winner.
Webb was nixed from the competition ahead of the final clue due to “flirting with negative amounts,” as host Ken Jennings put it.

Jeopardy’s Tournament of Champions is getting more cutthroat by the episode, with the people we expect the least losing their place in the high-stakes competition.
Juveria Zaheer’s time on the game show concluded on Thursday. She was knocked out of the match despite starting the episode with an early lead on competitors Kevin Belle and Luigi de Guzman.
The lead included the psychiatrist racking up an impressive $11,400 after answering 15 clues correctly.
To put it in perspective, Belle had $2,200, and Guzman had $1,600 at the same point, so where did it all go wrong for Zaheer?
Things got dicey when Guzman found both Daily Doubles and doubled up on them to take the lead, but it was still very close.
Zaheer took the lead back heading into Final Jeopardy! with a pretty $23,400, compared to Guzman’s $22,000 and Belle’s $5,800.

The seemingly never-ending onslaught of Jeopardy! tournaments can be a drag, until a thrilling game comes along that reminds you why having these seasoned players return is a good thing. Fans were thrilled by the “intense” competition on display in the Tuesday, January 30 Jeopardy episode, which saw champs Juveria Zaheer, Robbi Ramirez, and Alec Chao square up for a semi-final installment of the Champions Wildcard Tournament. The competition was fierce between these three, although the excitement didn’t truly pick up until Double Jeopardy. By the end of the first round, the scores were Juveria with 7,400, Alec with 1,200, and Robbi with 1,600. All of their scores shot up in round two, which ended with Juveria at 18,200, Alec at 10,000, and Robbi at 22,600. It was the high-scoring game fans always want to see, which made for an exciting Final Jeopardy that could have been won by any of the three competitors. The category was “Names in History,...

Jeopardy fans think (and hope) they might be watching a new long-running champion of the game following Juveria Zaheer’s dominating performance in the Wednesday, January 17, 2024 episode of the Champions Wildcard competition. The returning player first appeared on the game show on May 8, 2023, losing to the impressive Hannah Wilson. Juveria didn’t waste her second chance at a Jeopardy title, as shown in her staggering improvement between rounds one and two. By the end of the first round, the Canadian psychiatrist was leading with 5,600. Her competitors, Devin Lohman and Patti Palmer, followed with 1,600 and 3,800, respectively. By the end of the second round, Juveria had won 32,800, with Devin and Patti far behind at 6,400 and 7,000. A successful (and risky) true Daily Double bet helped her go from 11,600 to 23,200 in just one move, and the game was hers from that point on. Juveria finished in first place with a final score of 40,800. Devin...
