The buzzing Interscope act Role Model has parted ways with Best Friends Music Management, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The 27-year-old artist, who released his latest album, Kansas Anymore, in July 2024 to wide critical acclaim, had been represented by manager Danny Rukasin.
Best Friends, the company headed by Rukasin and Brandon Goodman, is management home to artists Bishop Briggs, Mimi Webb, Benee, Blake Rose, Mehro, Kid Sistr, Maris and Ren. Until recently, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas were also on the roster, though the duo left at the end of March for Jason Owen’s Sandbox Entertainment. The co-managers played a key role in steering Eilish’s ascent from viral sensation to award-winning artist over a decade of working together.
Role Model, who has about 6.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, released his debut album Rx back in 2022 through Interscope, after releasing the EPs Arizona in the Summer, Oh, How Perfect and Our Little Angel.

Tate McRae’s second Saturday Night Live musical guest spot saw her perform two tracks from her new album, So Close to What, which came out last month.
The first was “Sports Car,” which McRae has said was “such a fun song to write.”

Tate McRae has dropped a new single, “Sports Car,” along with a music video for the track. The sultry song was written and produced by Ryan Tedder, Grant Boutin, and Julia Michaels.
The video, directed by Bardia Zeinali and styled by Brett Alan Nelson, sees the singer posing in various fashion-forward ensembles as she performs the song. “There was so much discomfort with this video,” McRae told Vogue about creating the clip. “I wore wigs for the first time, which was a risk for me because I’ve always had my hair and my look.

Following her album and tour announcement earlier today, Tate McRae has dropped her a new single, “2 hands.” The pop star worked on “2 hands” with an all-star team of hitmakers: Ryan Tedder, Lostboy and Amy Allen. It’s an electro-pop love song, with McRae requesting “a little less talk/and a lot more touch.” On the chorus she sings, “I just want your two hands on me at all times baby/If you let go, better put ’em right back, fast.” Bradley & Pablo (Rosalía, Charli Xcx) directed the video, which sees the singer touring through suburbia.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, Canadian pop singer Tate McRae released a new single, “2 Hands,” along with an accompanying video (watch above). But that’s not all. She also announced that in 2025 she’ll be releasing a new album, “So Close to What,” and going on tour.
“So Close to What,” which will be her third album, drops on February 21. It follows her 2022 debut studio album “I Used to Think I Could Fly” and her 2023 followup “Think Later.” Before those efforts, she released two EPs, “All the Things I Never Said” in 2020 and “Too Young to Be Sad” in 2021. So she’s nothing if not prolific. All that and she’s still just 21 years old. “Making this album has been the most beautiful and exciting journey and I cannot wait to finally share it with you,” she said in her Instagram post announcing the new music.

Maude Latour’s fans have described her music as being for people who “had glow-in-the-dark stars on their ceilings” as kids. These days, Latour sees her music as “main-character” pop anthems for dramatic people with intense emotions, like herself.
“It’s for any girly who needs to put their headphones on, and that’s where they go to understand everything,” the 24-year-old dream-pop singer says. “It’s for people who journal. For people who love to feel every feeling and have a strong spectrum of emotions, and aren’t afraid to feel anything extremely.

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from Jackpot! on Amazon Prime Video.
"California Girls" by The Beach Boys sets the scene for California Grand Lottery rules in Jackpot! Awkwafina and John Cena lead the cast in an action-packed film with an engaging soundtrack. Memorable moments in the movie are highlighted by songs like "Turtle Power!" and "Spice Up Your Life."
Amazon Prime Video's Jackpot! revolves around a woman unlucky enough to win the lottery in California, but at least a fun soundtrack plays in the background while she runs for her life. The 2024 action comedy film, directed by Paul Feig and written by Rob Yescombe, takes place in the not-too-distant future (2030) when California has implemented a new law concerning the state's new jackpot. If someone with a losing lottery ticket manages to kill the person with the winning lottery ticket before sundown the same day, they obtain the jackpot without facing consequences for murder.

John Cena proved he has some singing chops in “Ricky Stanicky,” but alas, he doesn’t sing in his new film “Jackpot!” Don’t worry though, the soundtrack still has plenty of winners.
Now streaming on Prime Video, the Paul Feig film — set in the not-so-distant future — follows Katie Kim (Awkwafina), who recently moved to Los Angeles in the hopes of becoming an actor. During an audition, she quite literally wins the lottery. The thing is, the lottery works a bit differently in this version of LA.
Here, whoever wins has to make it to sundown — literally, physically make it to the end of the day alive. Anyone who didn’t win is allowed to legally murder the lottery winner and take over their winnings. Katie, of course, doesn’t know this, having lived in a bit of a bubble in the Midwest for various reasons.

A teenager in 70s New Zealand dreams of starting a band in Jonathan Ogilvie’s nostalgic comedy, which opens Rotterdam’s international film festival
Jonathan Ogilvie is the New Zealand film-maker who made the gangster drama The Tender Hook (2008) and also Lone Wolf (2021), a postmodern spin on Conrad’s The Secret Agent. Now he hits a lighter, gentler and much more personal note in this coming-of-age comedy, which opens the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) – a nostalgiafest romance from the 70s post-punk era about a kid in New Zealand mooching around in his uncool school uniform, hanging out in the local record shop (which still has its prog-era name of Middle Earth Records) and dreaming of starting a punk band called the Daleks – though wondering if just Daleks sounds cooler — and obsessing about an unattainably sexy girl who sneers at him.

Phoenix are keeping their collaboration kick going with a remix of their Alpha Zulu cut “All Eyes on Me” that features unlikely guest Pusha T. Check out the track below.
In addition to Pusha’s verses, the “All Eyes on Me” remix features vocals from Benee and production from Chad Hugo. TikTok's impact on the music industry can't be understated. Many of the biggest hits of the last five years started to gain fans and soar up the Billboard charts thanks to TikTok. One of the first songs to really show off the power of TikTok was Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road," which ended up sitting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks in a row and launched Lil Nas X - then a teenager trying to break into the industry - to superstardom. Other songs that got a huge boost from fans on TikTok were Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage," Doja Cat's "Say So," and Benee's "Supalonely," which all became favorites on the app. There are also tons of older songs that got a boost and found new fans on the app, like Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," Taylor Swift's "Love Story," and Patsy Cline's "Crazy.

The excitement around Coachella often revolves around gigantic stars pulling out all the stops during major performances, and this year was no exception. Headliners Bad Bunny and Blackpink both made history — Bad Bunny as the first Latino artist and Blackpink as the first female K-pop band to hit the mainstage during the festival’s most coveted time slots. Frank Ocean’s set, meanwhile, built up plenty of anticipation and drama, especially after his chaotic show the first weekend and once news hit that he was dropping out of the second weekend.

It’s time to take it down a notch, right Easy Life? On Tuesday, the English indie band released their single “Ott” (abbreviation for “over the top”), featuring Benee, about wanting people to simply just chill for a second.
“The song deals with the concept of having one too many. There are people in all of our lives that need to calm the fuck down, this is their anthem,” the band wrote on Instagram. “You ought to keep it lowkey,/You’re too close to Od,” sings Murray Matravers on the track.
