In 2022, the Star Warsfranchise saw the return of Hayden Christensen to the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader when the actor appeared in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, Christensen voiced that he was open to returning to the character that he played in two prequel films, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, long before Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered.

Ewan McGregor has more ideas for Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 and some are highly-anticipated. The Star Wars show originally followed Kenobi's journey to save Princess Leia Organa from a kidnapping attempt, only to discover that he was the true target all along. With constant conflict, Kenobi was forced to face off against his former apprentice, Darth Vader. The show has not yet been approved for season 2, but there may be a new hope for its return.
While speaking at L.A. Comic Con, McGregor opened up about some of his plans for season 2. Two Twitter users recorded his comments for a wider audience:

The Star Wars franchise has a packed slate of upcoming projects, ranging from James Mangold’s film set thousands of years in the past to ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu.’
There’s also a new movie centered on Rey, focused on rebuilding the Jedi Order 15 years after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ which is reportedly facing difficulties. Additionally, Dave Filoni is already at work on developing ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2, along with other upcoming projects. Amid this wave of new content, fans have consistently been asking about ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Season 2.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith's Iconic Lightsaber Fight Almost Took a Darker Turn - Main Image
The stunt coordinator of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith recently revealed that the film's iconic lightsaber fight almost took an unexpected darker turn.
Most Star Wars fans would argue that the climactic fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in the final prequel trilogy film was one of the best lightsaber battles in the franchise's history.
The moment was consequential to the rest of the galaxy in the coming years as it officially ended the friendship between the two characters and it led to Anakin becoming the villainous Darth Vader.

Everyone comes across deleted scenes from the Star Wars prequels from time to time. Fans have been eager for an extended cut of the films, especially Episode III, for the past few years. Maybe they'll get it eventually because, according to ScreenRant, a new interview with Star Wars stunt coordinator Nick Gillard has finally revealed the sheer volume of unused footage from the prequel trilogy.
Gillard discussed the extensive footage in an interview with Chris Castellani and revealed that it's enough for another trilogy and amounts to "three more movies in footage." While there are probably dozens of scenes, we can't imagine that never made it into the films, Gillard, who choreographed the duels for the prequels, went into the alternate version of Anakin and Obi-Wan's dramatic duel in the finale of Episode III.
This version plays out quite differently than the one in the movie but still ends...

Titles like ‘A Small Light’ and ‘Togo’ have been removed from Disney+ even as the streamer prepares to hike its subscription rates.
Disney+ is apparently feeling pretty confident about its ability to shrug off the ire of customers, these days. The service has enacted a new round of title removals, pulling more than 20 shows and movies from its catalog in its latest efforts to streamline. The removals themselves aren’t all that rare, but the response from Disney when asked about the pulled titles reveals a company that has no qualms about facing backlash from customers, despite the public relations year it’s had.
Key Details: Titles removed from Disney+ include “Hailey’s On It,” “Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez,” and more. Disney defended the decision to remove the titles, saying they represented less than 2% of its catalog. Disney+ plans are increasing in price starting Oct. 17. Sign Up Now $7.99+ / month disneyplus.

Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor have come a long way from their initial days doing the Star Wars prequel movies. They both admitted that they were not in touch after the films, but reconnected when they appeared in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The bond between the actors has since grown and Christensen made an appearance at McGregor’s Walk of Fame ceremony.

Obi-Wan Kenobi took us to a time in the history of the Republic that is pretty well documented, with shows like Star Wars Rebels. However, it took a completely new take on the ever-faithful, ever-confident Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, the show ended on quite an interesting note, one which could lead to the stories that Ewan McGregor wants to explore.

Audiences have seen a few glimpses of the time between the ending of Revenge of Sith and when Luke met Obi-Wan in A New Hope, such as the fight between Darth Maul and Obi-Wan in Star Wars Rebels and the entire Obi-Wan Kenobi series. However, there is a wide enough timeframe between those two events that Obi-Wan Kenobi could receive a second series, and Ewan McGregor is keen on exploring the possibilities.

Out of the cast of characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, very few reappeared in the prequel trilogy years later due to it taking place decades earlier. The one hint that we got from the days of the Republic and the Jedi order was Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Sir Alec Guinness), who served as a sort of Merlin the Wizard type of character to the young heroes. His early teachings to Luke started his path to becoming a Jedi, eventually defeating the empire and saving the galaxy.
Years later Ewan McGregor would play a much younger version of him in the prequels. First as a padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn and later becoming Anakin Skywalker’s master. His performance as the gentleman warrior was seen as a highlight of the series, which lead to many fans hoping he would return following Disney’a acquisition of Lucasfilm.

Ewan McGregor says he would love to reprise his Star Wars role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although the actor played the character in the prequel film series and the Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi, he believes there are more stories to tell.
"I really do hope we get a chance to do another one," McGregor told Variety. "Between where we ended off in the series and when Alec Guinness comes on screen with Luke Skywalker, I think there's another few stories to tell in there." The actor also said that he enjoyed playing a younger version of the character, originally played by Alec Guinness. "I loved, more than anything, getting to know Alec Guinness' work because I was playing him as a young man," he explained. "Even now with the series, that's my personal challenge - if a take feels a bit like him, I'm happy."

A core aspect of Star Wars has always been lightsaber duels. Which of these lightsaber duels, in Star Wars' nearly 50-year history, is the best?
In order to determine this, it's important to look at all the aspects of a great lightsaber duel, and how they stack up against each other. Fight choreography is, of course, incredibly important, but so is the narrative significance, setting, score and cinematography. Ewan McGregor still thinks plenty of Obi-Wan Kenobi's stories are left to tell. McGregor first joined the Star Wars franchise in 1999's The Phantom Menace as the young version of Obi-Wan Kenobi, taking over the role originated by Alec Guinness in the original trilogy. He reprised his role in 2002's Attack of the Clones and 2005's Revenge of the Sith. James Earl Jones, the prolific film, TV and theater actor whose resonant, unmistakable baritone was most widely known as the voice of “Star Wars” villain Darth Vader, died Monday morning at his home in Dutchess County, N.Y., his rep confirmed to Variety. He was 93.
After overcoming a profound stutter as a child, Jones established himself as one of the pioneering Black actors of his generation, amassing a bountiful and versatile career spanning over 60 years, from his debut on Broadway in 1958 at the Cort Theatre — renamed the James Earl Jones Theatre in 2022 — to his most recent performance in 2021’s “Coming 2 America.” For that film, Jones reprised his role as King Jaffe Joffer from the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy “Coming to America” — one of several roles, along with Darth Vader, that Jones revisited, including the voice of King Mufasa in Disney’s animated feature “The Lion King” in 1994, the 1998 direct-to-video sequel and the 2019 remake,...

The first Star Wars movie may be iconic, but so many details have been totally retconned over the last 47 years. There's a sense in which that isn't really much of a surprise; Star Wars canon has been evolving ever since the first movie's release, and even George Lucas changed his mind over a lot of the finer details. He even retconned this as Episode IV, officially retitling Star Wars "A New Hope."
Sometimes these retcons add cool details, but on other occasions they create inconsistencies and complications that make them a frustrating rewatch. These retcons have only increased in number in recent years, with Disney hopping through the timeline. Here are some of the major retcons that are definitively part of the canon.

Nielsen’s latest update has plenty of good news for Netflix as well, which now owns more total TV viewing than Paramount’s streaming and TV outlets combined.
The highs just keep getting higher for the medium of streaming. The television ratings firm Nielsen has released its monthly The Gauge report, which measures how American viewers are watching TV and which platforms are receiving the most viewership. In the month of June, streaming accounted for 40.3% of all TV watched in the United States, the first time it has ever accounted for more than 40% of viewing time in the history of The Gauge report.
Key Details: Disney+, Tubi, Prime Video, Netflix, and Hulu all accounted for more than 2% of all TV watched in June. Netflix is now fourth among all media companies in aggregated TV usage. The onset of summer vacation has helped streaming rise, as kids have more time to stream content.

Star Wars is a pretty massive franchise that’s been brought to various forms of media, most notably movies. But it’s also been expanded into shows and video games. While the animated shows still outnumber the live-action shows, since Disney acquired Lucasfilm this started changing.
Today we’re going to check out Ranker, a popular site where fans rank pretty much everything in order to determine which live-action Star Wars shows are the best. Keep in mind that the list i subject to change and the list might not reflect the most up-to-date state of votes on the site.

Yoda's cryptic statement in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back makes no sense after the events of projects like Revenge of the Sith and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan should have been well aware that Leia Organa could take her brother's place if he failed, making it odd that Yoda had to remind him. The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series may secretly hint at the reason Yoda had to remind Obi-Wan about Leia's heritage as a Skywalker.
When Luke Skywalker flew off to save his friends and face Darth Vader in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Obi-Wan Kenobi noted that he was their last hope. Yoda cryptically responded, "No, there is another." While some fans would make careers out of writing possible futures for these characters years later, many sitting in the theaters at that time had no idea what that quote implied.
Fans now know that Yoda was referring to Leia Organa.

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Acolyte" episode 6, "Teach/Corrupt."
The sixth episode of "Star Wars: The Acolyte," titled "Teach/Corrupt," offers a number of nods to other parts of the "Star Wars" mythos, but not in ways that are random or willy-nilly. The show's writers, led by Leslye Headland, took specific inspirations from other parts of the saga and threaded them in thematically into this work. This episode shows us Osha and Mae, disguised as each other, navigating a world that is their opposite. Mae (Amandla Stenberg), trained by the Jedi, finds herself in the thrall of the so called "Stranger," Manny Jacinto's character Qimir. Osha, trained by the Stranger, finds herself questioning Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae). It creates an interesting yin-yang effect to both parts of the story and explores the underlying philosophies of the light and dark sides. However, thanks to cues and Easter...

If the Star Wars franchise is considered one of the greatest film series of all time in Hollywood, the credit goes to its creative mastermind George Lucas. Players can potentially alter their fate in Star Wars Outlaws through story and gameplay choices, adding new innovations to the franchise. The game offers a fresh perspective by focusing on a non-Jedi protagonist, encouraging exploration and customization for Kay Vess. Kay Vess' skills will be shaped by seeking out experts, leading to new storylines, improved ship capabilities, and interactions with various criminal factions.
Star Wars Outlaws was heavily featured at the recent Ubisoft Forward event, and in the gameplay/overview trailers that followed, the title hinted at not only the journey of Kay Vess but how people could alter their fates within the game between both story and gameplay choices. This could potentially lead to new ideas and innovations within the Star Wars gaming franchise.

Tariq and Brayden found themselves broke for a few days and were like...absolutely not.
They got a little taste of the life for many college students and were not about to run themselves ragged for pocket change when they had a skillset equipped to bring in the kind of money most people could only dream of.
Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Episode 2 may have been an hour solely meant to set up the rest of the season, but even a transitional hour in this universe can be entertaining as hell.
Only Tariq could kill a man on campus and just waltz around the place like everything was chill. He was back at Stansfield, attending classes and doing his thing, while one person had the nerve to call him out, and they did so in the least threatening way possible.

Revenge of the Sith is the best entry in the Prequel trilogy for Star Wars, one that brought audiences face to face with the downfall of Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi Order, and the rise of the Galactic Empire. While the Prequels have been infinitely memed, the trilogy, especially its finale, consists of some of the most emotionally charged moments of the entire franchise.
One such moment, that has been simultaneously memed and and considered one of the most emotionally charged moments of the franchise, is the battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker (now Darth Vader) on the plane of Mustafar. One of the many things that made fans laugh out loud was the finale of the battle, where Obi-Wan Kenobi declares that he has the high ground, but it seems that this was not the only iteration of the fight between the Jedi Master and his former Padawan.

In the Star Wars universe, the Imperial Security Bureau and the Inquisitors are two secretive factions within the Empire, one is the secret police and the other is the Jedi-hunting faction. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi show there is tension between the pair, even though they’re on the same side. The tension between the Isb and Inquisitors is likely down to a number of factors, the competition for funding, the different approaches the groups take, and the lack of communication.
The Empire is the main faction in Star Wars, with the oppressive nature of the dictatorial government being the focus of many of the stories set immediately after the fall of the Republic and long after the Empire's fall. Obi-Wan and Vader's climactic lightsaber duel, hailed as the "rematch of the century," lived up to the promise of an epic battle that showcased prequel-style lightsaber combat and the weight of their history. The duel allowed Obi-Wan to find newfound faith in the Jedi and hope through Anakin Skywalker's children, while Vader's arrogance and blinding hatred led to another defeat. The face-to-face confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader, depicted in the Vintage Collection action figures, captures the poignant details and enhances the stunning recreation of the duel's emotional impact.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's climactic lightsaber duel between the titular Jedi Master and Darth Vader has received the Star Wars action figure treatment from Hasbro. Meeting on an unnamed moon, the former master and apprentice attempted to settle their differences with their lightsabers. While Vader was left further broken following another humiliating defeat, Obi-Wan was relieved of his guilt and gained a newfound sense of peace.

When it was announced that Hayden Christensen would reprise his role as Darth Vader in “Ahsoka,” Star Wars fans’ response was mostly positive. Christensen took heat for the prequel films like many of his costars, his two-film arc depicting Anakin Skywalker’s descent into darkness now obscured by indictments of the trilogy’s other flaws.
And Anakin — not portrayed by Christensen, but voiced by Matt Lanter — was a key part of the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” which developed Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein). To have the master and apprentice reunited in live-action (Tano now played by Rosario Dawson) was a thrilling prospect for fans of “Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels” — where he is young, smiling, and mostly human. And as nice as it is to see the duo reunited, it boils “Ahsoka” down to the same uninspired purpose that drove every lackluster Star Wars project of the past decade: Nostalgia.

Hayden Christensen's return as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars has been praised, leading to renewed calls for him to have his own Star Wars project. Fans were impressed with how Christensen seamlessly portrayed the various stages of Anakin's journey in the latest episode of Ahsoka. Despite Christensen's age, his recent appearances have shown that de-aging can be used to continue his role as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader in future projects.
When Hayden Christensen made his first Star Wars appearance as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the reaction was exactly positive. Flashforward two decades and Christensen is now being celebrated for a second time in as many years for his latest return to the franchise.
Hayden Christensen reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in last year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, starring opposite fellow returnee Ewan McGregor as the series’ titular Jedi.

It’s entirely possible that television historians will look back on the early 2020s as a period of fundamental transition for TV watching habits. This could be the era where TV transitions from linear broadcasts to a primarily streaming format, and new data from Hub Research is underscoring how far things have already progressed.
First, the good news for linear TV. Hub’s data shows that live TV from any platform services was the default for 40%. However, the number of respondents who chose SVOD services first has risen steadily since 2018.
Now, the bad news for traditional cable. Hub’s data also found that the set-top box, once so ubiquitous in the American household as a necessary addition to every cable plan, has fallen way behind internet-based sources of TV as a first stop for viewers. At a rate of 60%, respondents said they turn to an online source first when ready to watch.

It was only a matter of time before another streamer hopped onto the anti-password-sharing train. Netflix was famously the first, handing down rules to prevent users from sharing their login information with people outside their homes in May.
Disney is officially working on similar rules for its streaming services. That news came from CEO Bob Iger, who spoke about the company’s plans to introduce rules against sharing of accounts on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ during its conference call with analysts and investors to discuss its quarterly earnings report.

Star Wars' critically acclaimed Disney+ series Andor is currently enjoying a resurgence due to its 8 Emmy nominations. The show is set before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and depicts Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) in the early days of the formation of the Rebel Alliance, showing how this man who just wants to stay out of trouble ends up becoming one of the most loyal fighters for the cause and will eventually give his life to retrieve the Death Star plans.
Andor received rave reviews from critics and some fans, as many have hailed it for pushing the Star Wars franchise in a bold new direction and tackling complex themes of how an Empire keeps its power, the moral complexity of forming a rebellion and examining the people who make up these institutions. The series raised the bar for the franchise taking it to heights that it hadn't seen in years.
