The Masked Singer is back!

A new episode of season 13 of the hit Fox singing competition series aired on Wednesday night (March 26).

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated. Throughout the season, the contestants provide clues to try and help the judges and fans figure out who is under the mask.

This season includes the new costumed character Detective Lucky Duck, who will help panelists “uncover who’s behind each mask.”

During the episode, Group C contestants Cherry Blossom, Mad Scientist Monster, Nessy, Stud Muffin, and Yorkie hit the stage for their first performances of the season.

While on stage, Yorkie performed “Hot to Go” by Chappell Roan.

Oscar winner Mikey Madison hosts for the first time on March 29 with musical guest Morgan Wallen. Jack Black returns for a fourth time on April 5 with musical guests Elton John and Brandi Carlile. Chappell Roan’s new song “The Giver” is officially being serviced to country radio, a rep for Universal Music Group Nashville has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Umg Nashville is working the song on behalf of fellow Umg label Island Records, Roan’s official label. As of Tuesday, the song had early spins at several country stations, including Kdfi in Wichita, Kansas, Wzzk in Birmingham, Alabama, and, not surprisingly, Ktts in Springfield, Missouri, according to Mediabase. Global recorded music revenue increased by 4.8 percent in 2024, driven by a 9.5 percent jump in subscription streaming revenue, despite a “highly competitive market,” according to worldwide recording industry organization Ifpi. Figures released Wednesday in its Global Music Report show that total trade revenue reached $29.6 billion in 2024, marking the 10th consecutive year of growth.

Users of subscription accounts grew 10.6 percent to 752 million worldwide as of the end of last year, while advertising-supported streaming revenue grew by a more modest 1.2 percent, according to the Ifpi report.

Annual streaming revenue exceeded $20 billion for the first time with $20.4 billion, making this part of the sector “bigger than the entire recorded music industry revenues for each year between 2003 and 2020,” it highlighted. As a result, streaming accounted for 69 percent of total recorded music revenue in 2024.

Global performance rights revenue climbed 5.9 percent in 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year of growth, to reach $2.9 billion.

The 27-year-old Grammy winner for best new artist, in head-to-toe pink cowgirl garb, performed her then-unreleased new track, “The Giver.” Now, four months later, Roan has released the country-pop anthem after an extensive promotional rollout.

Last month, the “Pink Pony Club” singer posted a photo of herself in a suit to Instagram with the caption: “The Lawyer. Ur ex’s worst nightmare + she gets the job Done.” She then went on to post several more as a lawyer, along with photos of herself as a plumber, a construction worker and a dentist, all with the same theme of her taking on a service worker gig and getting the job done.
