Terez Patsavoura Kouri

Terez Patsavoura Kouri was the pet dog of the Greek actress Anna Kouri. When Anna was cast in a co-starring role in the sitcom "Oi men kai oi den", the production team decided to cast Terez as the pet of Anna's character. It was a running gag in the series that the socialite Vana Dagga (played by Anna) adored her dog and treated Terez as her child. The dog ended up having prominent roles in several episodes of the sitcom, and it was seen as an important character in her own right. Terez is credited with unexpectedly popularizing pet ownership in Greece during the 1990s, with a number of retrospectives noting that both sales and adoptions of dogs increased due to the sitcom's depictions of a genuinely affectionate relationship between a pet owner and her pet.
