In production since May 24 in Montreal, Luc Dionne's film, Le projet Omertà, will wrap up on production on July 18. Moreover, the film will be released in Quebec in summer 2012.

The film, which is based on a TV series showrunned by Luc Dionne himself, will be centred on the character of Pierre Gauthier (Michel Côté), an federal agent who's specialized on organized crime.

He's now the head of Pulsar International, a high-level private security agency. One day, he's called by Gilbert Tanguay (Michel Dumont), his former boss, to investigate on a conspiracy. Tanguay also recruits Sophie (Rachelle Lefevre), a former agent of the Canadian secret service, so that she infiltrates the Montrealer underworld.

Sophie has to earn the trust of Steve Cohen (Stéphane Rousseau) and Steve Bélanger (Patrick Huard), two known associates of the Italian mafia of Montreal. Cohen and Bélanger wants to steal the gold supply of all the major North American banks.

At last, the trailer of Patrick Demers' Jaloux is finally online. No release date has been announced, but the film is currently looking for foreign distributors at the American Film Market (Afm).

Yesterday, Montreal's Festival du nouveau cinéma (Fnc), which will take place from October 13 to 24, revealed its full line-up of films. Nineteen Canadian feature films and documentaries will be presented. However, don't expect to see all films that were screened at the latest Toronto or Vancouver International Film Festivals.

Yesterday, the Quebecker section of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television revealed its full list of nominees at the 2010 Gémeaux Awards, the Quebecker equivalent of the Emmy Awards. Aveux is the story of Carl Laplante (Maxime Denommée), a 33 years old man. He ran away from his adoptive family and his friends from La Tuque at 18 years old after a shocking event. Fifteen years later, he lives in Montreal, is married with Brigitte (Catherine Proulx-Lemay), has a new first name (Simon) and hasn't talked to his relatives from La Tuque ever since. Besides, Simon/Carl tries to live in peace because he created a new past for himself.

I've just watched Aveux's season finale (which was aired two days ago) on streaming.
