Solo Leveling Season 2 Finale Gets Disappointing Update
Image
Solo Leveling fans following Season 2 on Crunchyroll are in for some disappointing news about its upcoming finale. The release schedule for the final Season 2 episodes will not buck the trend despite the incredible hype built since Episode 18.

Since its January 2025 premiere, Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- has been earning worldwide praise for its excellent adaptation of the role-playing-inspired manhwa by Chugong (despite criticism for omitting key details from the source material). The reception to Episode 18 -- Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 6, "Don't Look Down on My Guys" -- was so strong that it 'broke the internet' for subscribers of Crunchyroll as well as illegal streaming services. The hype surrounding the series has only escalated since, with the recent episode release, "It Was All Worth It," being its strongest performer yet. Given Solo Leveling’s incredible momentum at the moment, fans were expecting a special event for its final episodes,...

Ore dake Level Up na Ken (2024)
Solo Leveling is a South Korean web novel written by Chugong, later adapted into a manhwa (webtoon) and an anime. It follows the story of Sung Jin-Woo, a weak hunter who unexpectedly gains the ability to “level up” like a video game character, becoming the world’s strongest hunter.

Originally published on KakaoPage in South Korea, Solo Leveling was later officially translated into English by Webnovel (2016–2018). The webtoon adaptation, featuring stunning artwork by Dubu (Jang Sung-rak), ran for 179 chapters across two seasons. Solo Leveling (with a global release through platforms like Crunchyroll) is produced by A-1 Pictures with Shunsuke Nakashige as the director, Noboru Kimura as the scriptwriter, Tomoko Sudo as the character designer, and Hiroyuki Sawano as the composer.

Following its success, a compilation film titled “Solo Leveling: ReAwakening” was released in theatres from November 29 to December 12, 2024, summarising the first season and previewing the initial episodes of the second season.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 7 Teases Sung Jinwoo's Grand Homecoming as an S-Rank Hunter
Image
After being looked down on as the world's weakest hunter, the new official previews for Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 7 reintroduce Sung Jinwoo as one of the world's strongest after his fight against an army of High Orcs.

The official Solo Leveling website revealed the previews for Season 2, Episode 7 (Episode 19 overall), aptly titled "The 10th S-rank Hunter." The episode continues from last week's epic showdown between Jinwoo and the orc army led by Kargalgan. Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- is the Best Way to Watch Season 2s Premiere
Image
This review contains spoilers for Solo Leveling's anime and manhwa. Proceed with caution.

In Solo Leveling, Hunters awaken to their powers all at once, and never grow stronger, no matter how much they train. However, some Hunters undergo a rare Second Awakening, suddenly receiving an additional power boost that substantially increases their rank in Hunter society. Director Shunsuke Nakashige's new film, Solo Leveling -ReAwawkening-, feels like the moment of the animes own Second Awakening, as it once again unlocks a new level of power that itll carry into its highly anticipated Solo Leveling Season 2.

Based on the light novel written by Chugong, Solo Leveling was always meant to be a resounding success. Much like its main character, Sung Jinwoo (aka The Worlds Weakest Hunter), Solo Leveling rose from relative obscurity to becoming an anime powerhouse that cant be stopped seemingly overnight. The light novel slowly leveled up from...

‘Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-‘ Movie Releases New Trailer Ahead of November Premiere
Image
As fans of the series will know, A-1 Pictures’ anime adaptation of the popular South Korean manhwa series Solo Leveling finally aired earlier this year after numerous delays and cancelation scares. And while the series has received more or less positive reactions, fans of the original work were not as overwhelmed as they had hoped.

In light of this problematic first season, Solo Leveling was nevertheless renewed for a second season, which is scheduled for a 2025 release, but before that, as you might probably know already, a movie titled Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- is going to be released in late November this year.

The movie will give us a recap of the first season and tease the first episodes of the second season (which is becoming a tradition in the industry!), and we are happy to confirm that a new trailer has just been released and that you will be able...

Review: Solo Leveling Episode 10 Falters Before Season 1 Finale
Image
The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 10, "What Is This, a Picnic?," now streaming on Crunchyroll.

Solo Leveling is reaching its home stretch -- and like its protagonist Jin-woo Sung, it has turned into a favorite of both viewers well-versed in the webtoon and those who are new to its world. As the penultimate episode of Season 1 begins, Jin-woo is still a lowly E-ranked Hunter... and he wants to stay that way. But his prowess says otherwise, and prying eyes are starting to take notice, which brings more trouble than he could possibly manage.

Solo Leveling Episode 10 examines how far Jin-woo has come in his journey, because his exploits have started turning the heads of powerful Hunters and Guilds. Directed by Takashi Sakuma, storyboarded by Koki Onoue, and scripted by Yoshikazu Tominaga, the episode titled "What Is This, a Picnic?" shows how normal dungeons have become a walk in...

Review: Solo Leveling Episode 8 is Filler
Image
The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 8, "This Is Frustrating."

It was not too long ago when Solo Leveling's infamous Double Dungeon incident turned the lives of many survivors upside down, leaving them with deep-seated regret and trauma. Everyone felt like they lost a part of themselves behind the doors of the Cartenon Temple. This included Jin-woo Sung, who unexpectedly came out with a second wind. Neither team leader Chi-yul Song nor B-rank healer Joo-hee Lee or the others stepped into another dungeon, leaving them to contemplate their life's heading The anime is now at a juncture where the old characters are up for a much-anticipated reunion. Only time will tell whether it will be as disastrous as the last time they were in the same room together or not.

Review: Solo Leveling Episode 6 Is Brutal For Jin-woo Sung
Image
The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 6, now streaming on Crunchyroll.

The famous Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore once wrote, "If no one heeds your call, then walk alone." This quote could also be applied to Solo Leveling and Jin-woo Sung's journey from the weakest hunter to the hero who fears no dungeon boss. Since rising through the ranks is both surprising and unpredecented within the Solo Leveling universe, Jin-woo has to hide his growing abilities. But when a rogue party threatens his life, he has to decide how far he'll go to protect himself and his secret.

Solo Leveling Episode 6 heats up pretty quickly under the careful supervision of showrunners Shunsuke Nakashige and Noboru Kimura. The episode is directed by Takashi Sakuma with a script from Norimitsu Kaiho and music composition from Hiroyuki Sawano. Review: Solo Leveling Episode 5 Takes Jin-woo to Familiar Places

The following contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Episode 5, now streaming on Crunchyroll.

As even new Dungeons & Dragons players know, assembling a party to set out on an adventure of magic and might is easier said than done. A balanced group requires compatibility, strategy and the right mix of classes to survive a perilous journey. In the world of Solo Leveling, Guilds have a functioning infrastructure in place -- leaving low-ranked hunters to band together as freelancers, sharing whatever resources they gather in a raid. The world of anime has been influential outside of Japan to such a degree that many other cultures have begun to use the tropes defined by the medium to tell their own stories, which is great as it shows that the medium is flexible enough to adapt to other mediums and still retain its main characteristics, which takes us to Solo Leveling, an anime adaptation from a South Korean novel that eventually became a webtoon. Solo Leveling: Plot, Cast, Release Date, and Everything Else We Know
Image
Solo Leveling is a name that resonates with every webtoon reader because it not only paved the way for RPG and dungeon comics in Korea but has also been consistently at the top for years. While the artwork in the webtoon is exceptional and noteworthy, even when compared to the likes of Tower of God, The God of High School, and Eleceed, Solo Leveling has a unique approach to captivating the reader: elevations.

When the Solo Leveling anime was announced in early 2023, many fans were ecstatic that their favorite webtoon had finally received a well-deserved adaptation. Many anime enthusiasts, however, are still a bit reluctant to accept any animation studio other than Ufotable, which animated masterpieces such as Demon Slayer, Fate, and God Eater.

While whether the current animation studio, A-1 Pictures, does the webtoon justice is up for another debate, here's everything we know so far about the upcoming anime Solo Leveling.
