Between the original Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, the Tasm reboots and the latest McU-set films, we've seen Peter Parker face-off against most of his best-known bad guys on the big screen. We still don't know who Tom Holland's web-slinger will come up against in Spider-Man 4, but a new rumor may have narrowed things down quite a bit.

According to scooper Mttsh, Spidey will tangle with a female villain in the upcoming movie.

Apparently, the character has already been cast - but won't be played by Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, who is believed to be joining the MCU as a new take on Mary Jane Watson.

Spider-Man doesn't have that many major female foes, so Felicia Hardy/Black Cat would seem like the safest bet.

Responding to a post from MCU Source on X that claimed that D'Onofrio was now confirmed to appear as the main villain of Spider-Man 4, reprising his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. "Is that right? Well no one has told me," the actor wrote underneath the post, debunking the so-called "confirmation." Last we heard, Marvel and Sony's fourth solo Spider-Man movie was scheduled to begin shooting in late 2025, and we now appear to have confirmation (though filming could commence a little earlier than expected).

The organization founded by Tom Holland's parents, The Brothers Trust, has launched an online competition/giveaway, and the details reveal that cameras will roll on Spider-Man 4 in London this summer. This could still mean from September through to the autumn months, but there's a chance production might get underway sooner.

We know that Avengers: Doomsday is set to film in London next month, but, depending on the size of Holland's role (we've heard Spider-Man has much more to do in Secret Wars), the actor could conceivably shoot both projects back-to-back.

Marvel has released quite a few series over the years. Although every show is not all cannon to the MCU, many have been well received by fans and critics alike. Agatha All Along, The Kathryn Hahn-led series that acts as a spin-off of WandaVision, is the latest in a long line of shows that performed well with audiences and reviewers.

According to a report from Luminate Data (via GamesRadar+), the show streamed for over 1 billion minutes in 2024, making its success quite clear. However, other less well received shows, like Secret Invasion, that debuted on Disney+ last year seem to have outperformed Agatha All Along. Per the data, the polarizing Samuel L. The rumor mill for Spider-Man 4 is spinning wildly, with names like Venom, Ghost Rider, Black Cat, Daredevil, Mephisto, and Knull all popping up as potential allies or enemies for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. With so much chatter, it’s hard to know what’s real.

The surge in speculation probably comes from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures throwing around different ideas to settle on a story that works for everyone. There’s also a chance that Marvel is purposely leaking some false info to keep things under wraps. It wouldn’t be the first time a studio played that game.

What’s clear is that the script is still in flux. Reports suggest there’s a major rewrite happening, which might be due to disagreements between Tom Holland and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. As of now, production seems far off since they haven’t nailed down the final version of the script.

With so many conflicting reports and rumors relating to Spider-Man 4 doing the rounds over the past few weeks, it's difficult to get a read on exactly what's going on with the project, but several different sources have claimed that - for whatever reason - the story still hasn't come together.

The script is believed to be undergoing a major overhaul, possibly due to differences of opinion between star Tom Holland and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, and last we heard, the movie was still a long way from starting production because there isn’t a finalized shooting draft yet.

Scooper Daniel Richtman has now shared an update, and he believes that the script is still being worked on. He also claims that the most recent version of the story - prior to the rewrites - included two classic Spidey villains in Shocker and Scorpion.
