A+E Networks has a new name and a slew of new shows across its networks.

A&e and Lifetime have ordered a number of new projects including a new movie starring Precious’ Gabourey Sidibe and renewed shows including Storage Wars.

It comes as the parent company has rebranded as A+E Global Media ahead of its annual Upfront.

Storage Wars is back for its 16th season. The show, which aired Season 15 in 2023, will expand from its traditional half-hours to a one-hour format. The ten-part series, which will air this summer, features teams of bidders on the hunt for valuable abandoned and repossessed storage units and with only a few minutes to see inside, they must decide whether they’ve spotted trash or true treasure that they can turn into big profits. WWE’s new competition series officially has a premiere date at A&e.

“WWE Lfg,” short for “Legends & Future Greats,” will launch on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. Et. on A&e. It will be followed by the debut of “WWE’s Greatest Moments” at 9:30 p.m. and the return of “WWE Rivals” at 10:30. Both “Lfg” and “Greatest Moments” were announced in December as an expansion of WWE’s A&e content offerings.

In “Lfg” 16 contestants will compete for a spot in Nxt, WWE’s developmental brand. They will be trained during the show by WWE legends like The Undertaker, Booker T, Mickie James, and Bubba Ray Dudley. In addition, WWE Hall of Famers Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, and Shawn Michaels, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, will help guide the competitors as they earn points for their performances.

WWE and A&e are expanding their programming partnership with the addition of two new shows in addition to new episodes of “WWE Rivals.”

First up, there is “WWE Lfg” (short for “Legends & Future Greats”). The competition series will follow rising talent in pro wrestling as they vie for a WWE contract. Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels will both appear in the series alongside coaches The Undertaker, Booker T, Mickie James, and Bubba Ray Dudley. Each week, the coaches will mentor the talent in weekly matches. Levesque and Michaels executive produce the series along with Lee Fitting, Ben Houser, and Jeremy Borash. Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson serve as executive producers for A&e.

Next up, the new series “WWE’s Greatest Moments” will also launch on A&e. WWE announcer Michael Cole will host the half-hour series, which go into detail on some of the most iconic moments in the company’s history.

A&e is deepening its partnership with the WWE — including adding an in-ring competition to its roster of programming.

The cable network has picked up a series called WWE Lfg, which will feature would-be pro wrestlers vying for a WWE contract while receiving training and coaching from in-ring legends Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and others. The three-episode series comes to a conclusion, and we get to see the complications involved in the case where Rachanda Pickle, Kaye Turner, and two other girls were killed. The final episode of Lost Women of Highway 20 focuses on the case of the newest victims, Melissa Sanders and Sheila Swanson, and then on the fate of John Ackroyd, who just seemed to be on a killing rampage until he was caught and put in prison. The series highlighted the fact that killers such as John have to be caught during their initial days; otherwise, they don’t just magically stop, and bodies keep piling up. A culture that wouldn’t listen to the victims, pay attention to children and made them feel they couldn’t talk about their abuse to anyone, was bound to be in a position where it allowed people like John to prosper and commit crimes over decades.

Impact Wrestling have, this week, launched their official Twitch channel at www.twitch.tv/impactwrestling, which will feature a 24-hour live stream and exclusive weekly programming. Launched yesterday, the Impact Wrestling Channel will feature a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week stream of content that leads up to the debut of Barbed Wire Massacre III on Thursday January 18th at 10:00pm Et immediately following the weekly premiere of Impact! on Pop.

Looking to maintain some momentum from 2016’s first episode of Impact Wrestling, which saw EC3 cleanly regain his Tna World Heavyweight Title, Tna’s One Night Only: Live! is the company’s first live pay-per-view since October’s Bound for Glory.

Though not a particularly impactful or memorable show in terms of title defenses or storylines, it was nevertheless an entertaining three hours, in large part due to the usual bickering between Pope and Josh, the inevitable botches, a number of unexpected debuts, and a shocking amount of strange moments featuring J.B., Jeremy Borash.

Though the One Night Only name doesn’t really have much meaning anymore, especially with so many matches that could take place on any given episode of Impact, it was still solid enough, and showed how much wrestling you can actually cram into 3 hours if you cut all the garbage down.

Tna Impact Wrestling plumbed new, soul-destroying depths this week, as the show wasn’t merely low-effort but very nearly no-effort, serving up one particular segment that’s a testament to how little thought is really being put into these tapings. Sure, Tna are backed into a corner somewhat with this pre-taped World Title tournament, but the company’s still making ridiculous mistakes and basically suggesting they don’t much care.

EC3’s mic skills are still terrifically entertaining and there were some amusing moments of fan interaction, but this week’s show only cements the feeling that we’re watching an agonisingly drawn-out slow death. Hopefully things will pick up a little with the upcoming shows in India and the UK, but if it’s all just possibly leading to Mahabali Shera capturing the Tna World Title in India (a rare market where Tna does insanely well), is it really worth it?...

Christy Hemme has quit Tna and the sport of professional wrestling, reports PWInsider.

She has been with the company since 2006 in a number of different roles but reports say she’s leaving because of an incredible job opportunity outside of the wrestling business.

Hemme joined Tna when she was fresh off winning the WWE Divas Search in 2004, after a noteworthy stint with WWE that lasted less than two years. She found a home in Tna first as a manager and then as a regular wrestler. A neck injury sidelined her, though, so she transitioned to being a backstage interviewer in 2009 and later, ring announcer. Hemme gave birth to her first child (a daughter) in January, so she’s heading on a different path in her life.

This week Nxt moved to Wednesdays, Impact moved to Fridays, and Raw and SmackDown’s ratings moved up a notch. That’s a sign that all you need to do to increase interest is finally induct one of the most popular wrestlers into the hall, or air wacky psychiatrist skits. I’m not sure which one brought in more fans.

I like to pick on Tna most weeks, but this week Impact was pretty decent again. The company is even doing a better job of pushing Jeremy Borash as a babyface than WWE is with every babyface on their roster. I don’t see Jb backing down to Ethan Carter like Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback did to The Authority! As for the fan sign of the week? Let’s go with “Roman Lames.” Simple, but effective. It also works on multiple levels!

Since the WWE began to focus toward a different demographic and went to a PG rating for its programming in 2008, older wrestling fans have been looking for an alternative, more matured product for their sports entertainment needs. Many fans turned to Ufc, which has a lot of the qualities a more seasoned viewer of the WWE product may look for – violence, adrenaline, excitement, feuds and characters. However, with Ufc fighters only fighting 2/3 events a year (particularly for the big names) these characters are hard for a viewer to invest in when compared to a wrestling show which gets the chance to establish their characters on a weekly basis.

This is where an alternative wrestling product is needed. One which can give the fans all of the above that Ufc offers with the addition of characters that can be seen on regular occasion. This is where Impact Wrestling should be aiming its product.

Tna have gone off the Twitter deep end. Last night’s Victory Road event was a near 3-hour advert for Social Networking. The usual trending topics flashed up on screen, but it didn’t end there. We had a Victory Road hash tag banner, Tweets displayed on the screen backstage that Jeremy Borash asked questions from, a tweet during a competitive match (by Austin Aries) and to top it all off, the commentators did Not Stop talking about it all night. They completely ignored the flow of the match and the calling of moves to instead read out generic tweets from @Velvetskysknockers or whomever they could find that had something positive to say about their show. Lockup, the crowd strongly behind Austin Aries for some reason. We are in Philly tonight, the crowd could be interesting. Kendrick hip toss and a side head lock take over or three. Austin gets out of each one with an easy head scissors. Kendrick dropkicks him outside, where Aries decides he needs a time out. Of course Kendrick cant resist a vaulting cross body block. I can understand them cheering who they want.

As expected, No Surrender kicked off with the entire roster taking part in a 9/11 tribute. Tna Knockout Rosita, whose father died in the attacks, was shown. Anyone else think it’s about time he dropped the Kid in his name? I know Man Kash doesn’t have the same ring to it, but he’s definitely not a kid anymore. In saying that as long as he never brings back the Pit-bull gimmick, I’m happy. Match starts off with an exchange of quick pin falls and reversals that the fans are well behind from the bell.
