BBC Studios has announced the titles coming to BritBox in April 2025, which include everything from new BritBox Originals to classic British fare. BritBox is a digital video subscription service offering the largest collection of British TV in the U.S. and Canada.

The April lineup includes Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero, BritBox’s new prestige Agatha Christie adaptation directed by Olivier Award-winning director Sam Yates, and I, Jack Wright, a propulsive, darkly comic, moving murder mystery following the twists, turns, and drama of a family filled with treachery and hidden agendas.

One day longer and hosting unveils of big, big must-check-out series such as Paramount’s “King & Conqueror,” Fremantle’s “Sandokan” and BBC Studios reboot “Walking With Dinosaurs,” this week’s London TV Screenings did nothing to dent its recent status in a new biz order as one of Europe’s two key TV markets alongside October’s Mipcom.

It was these titles and a brace of classy star-studded crime thrillers – Andrew Lincoln’s “Cold Water,” Jesse Williams’ “Costiera,” Mark Gatiss’ “Bookish,” “Maigret” with Benjamin Wainwright – which looked to be moving the needle at this year’s London Screenings, which unspooled Feb. 23-28.

“We are very positively surprised to see that the London TV Screenings has quickly become a key gathering for European fiction,” said José Antonio Salso at Spain’s Atresmedia TV.

The “For All Mankind” spinoff “Star City” has made three new additions to its main cast, Variety has learned.

Adam Nagaitis, Josef Davies, and Ruby Ashbourne Serkis have all joined the upcoming Apple TV+ alt-history drama.

The trio will appear alongside previously announced cast members Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Solly McLeod, Agnes O’Casey and Alice Englert.

The show was originally announced in April 2024. As previously reported, the series will tell the story the alternative history of the space race like “For All Mankind,” but this time from the Soviet Union perspective.

Sex Education star Asa Butterfield has landed his first stage role with a project about the actor who came second to playing Harry Potter in the movie franchise. The limited four week-run at London’s Riverside Studios will see Butterfield play Martin Hill in Second Best. At age 10, Martin was on the brink of stardom, but he narrowly missed out and now embarks on the ultimate adventure in adulthood – fatherhood. Butterfield said: “It’s equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking, a universal tale of ‘what ifs’, and I can’t wait to bring it to life on stage for the very first time.” Based on the David Foenkinos novel, the play is written by Barney Norris and directed by Michael Longhurst. Exclusive: John Simm and Nikki Amuka-Bird are leading a mystery thriller series titled I, Jack Wright for Federation Stories and UKTV.

Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones) will also feature.

The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe scribe Chris Lang is penning I, Jack Wright, which Federation is producing and distributing via its UK arm. A number of deals have already been struck for Scandi public broadcasters Yle, Dk, Nrk and Srk. Deadline understands a deal with the BBC is close.

Shooting will begin this month on the series that stars double-bafta nominee Simm as Gray Wright. When the provisions of Jack’s final will and testament are made known, his third wife Sally (Amuka-Bird) and sons are shocked to discover they have been largely cut out of his enormous fortune. As Dci Morgan and DC Jones delve further into the case, they realize Jack’s cause of death was in fact murder.

On the 18-month anniversary of its original launch date, the talent management firm Additive Creative announced a wave of new signings. The offshoot of digital media company Wheelhouse DNA has inked deals with 18 creators, including TikTok standouts like Michael Sanzone, Ryan Benji (of The Benji Show), and Swedish couple Isa Heriksson and Nina Lundberg (aka Isa and Nina).

The new signees possess a collective audience of more than 22 million followers across all social platforms. They will be co-represented by managers Michael Senzer and Adden Laughlin.

Wheelhouse DNA, which is itself a spin-off of entertainment company Wheelhouse, established Additive Creative in 2022 to add talent management to its list of creator-facing services. Since its launch, the firm has preferred to announce its signings in waves. Influencers like Jack Wright and Nick Bartels headlined the initial roster, and Additive Creative partnered with an additional eight creators earlier this year.

The D’Amelio family is officially getting their kicks. The TikTok-famous clan has launched D’Amelio Footwear, a shoe venture born out of the family’s D’Amelio Brands unit.

A year after expanding into talent management, Wheelhouse DNA has announced a wave of new signings. The digital entertainment company’s Additive Creative Partners wing has partnered with eight prominent channels from TikTok and YouTube, including lifestyle creator Lauren Kettering (pictured above) and comedian Simba Jones.

Additive Creative reps its clients across all areas, including entertainment, content, and brand partnerships. Its new signees have already explored numerous opportunities across online and real-life platforms. TikToker Carrie Berk, for example, is a published author, while musical comedian Tom McGovern has appeared in off-Broadway productions.
