Ralph Macchio is happy and satisfied with how Cobra Kai has completed Daniel Larusso's The Karate Kid arc, but he still has one more story about Daniel-san he wants to tell - and direct. Macchio starred in three The Karate Kid movies before reprising Daniel Larusso in Cobra Kai over 30 years later. Macchio returned as Daniel once more in Karate Kid: Legends opposite Jackie Chan and Ben Wang.
Before accepting Newport Beach TV Fest's Artist of Distinction award from his The Karate Kid Part II co-star, Tamlyn Tomita, Ralph Macchio joined the Cobra Kai panel with castmates Mary Mouser and Yuji Okumoto, as well as executive producers Hayden Schlossberg, Jon Hurwitz, and Josh Heald. Macchio revealed he wants to tell Daniel Larusso's origin story before The Karate Kid, and ideally, direct it. Read Ralph's quote below:

A star of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai has announced their sudden retirement from acting after more than two decades. Courtney Henggeler, who starred in the Karate Kid spin-off as Amanda Larusso, the wife of Ralph Macchio’s Daniel Larusso, throughout all six seasons of Cobra Kai, took to Substack to announce that she is “tapping out” of the industry and no longer wants “to be a cog in the wheel of the machine.”
“After 20 plus years of fighting the good fight in the acting business, I hung up my gloves on Friday. I called my agents and told them I was tapping out. I no longer wanted to be a cog in the wheel of the machine. When prompted to know what I did want to do, I simply replied “I want to be the machine”

There’s something about Cobra Kai that just hits different, I can’t quite put a finger on it because it feels like so many things at once, like the nostalgia it brings, the karate showdowns, and the emotional depth. At the center of it was Amanda Larusso, quietly keeping everything together and putting the madness in check.
I’ve seen her confront man-children in black gis, put out fires, and remind Daniel of important lessons. She was such a layered character who grounded the show, and I wished to see more of her in the upcoming movies and possible spin-offs, but unfortunately, that might not be possible.

Trying to be successful in any creative industry can be incredibly rewarding, but if the opportunities aren't coming in, it can also be deeply frustrating. At what point are you still holding on because you've put so much time and energy into a career that isn't providing results? "We survived off the crumbs.

Young Sheldon was set to focus on the early life of Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage), the break-out character from the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, played by Jim Parsons as an adult in that show. But as the show continued through its seven-season run, the attention shifted focus to the entire Cooper family.
This included parents George Sr. (Lance Barber) and Mary (Zoe Perry), older brother Georgie (Montana Jordan), twin sister Missy (Raegan Revord), and grandmother Connie “Meemaw” (Annie Potts). There were other supporting characters who got their own storylines, too. But fans believe that by the end, one character in particular was overlooked and should have gotten more screen time than she did. This is despite Barber suggesting that her being overlooked was “intentional.”

This article contains spoilers for "Cobra Kai" season 6 part 3.
At the end of the day, "Cobra Kai" has always been Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) show. The series finale, titled "Ex-Degenerate," confirms as much, both with its title that nods at the series premiere "Ace Degenerate" and its plot that keeps a laser-like focus on his journey.
Despite this, "Cobra Kai" has kept expanding its cast over the years, often spending entire seasons to introduce and develop complex new combatants to throw at an established name. This has been highly entertaining, especially since it has kept things from getting stale, and these new faces tend to be quite interesting. Unfortunately, this leaves season 6 with a massive problem: Since comparatively few characters actually exit the show at any point, the final season is overstocked with supporting characters and hangers-around it's either unable or unwilling to deal with. It doesn't help that the...

Cobra Kai is back for the last batch of episodes in its sixth and final season. Along with a few surprise characters, including some returning from the original series (both from previous seasons and one new), there’s a new minor character who has a small but pivotal role.
Elizabeth Berkley is best known for her starring role in the teen sitcom Saved By The Bell as well as the movie Showgirls. Fans were surprised to see her pop up in the show. While her character has limited screen time across two of the five episodes, her role is the catalyst for something bigger.

Cobra Kai delivered its final karate chop on Feb. 13, after the first two parts of Season 6 streamed July 18 and Nov. 15 on Netflix. While fans are still reeling from the epic conclusion between frenemies Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), TV critics are praising the final five episodes as “deeply affectionate” and full of “sincerity.” One journalist even compares them to … a charcuterie board?!
Season 6 overall has a Metacritic score of 88 based on 41 reviews. At Rotten Tomatoes, where reviews are classified simply as positive or negative as opposed to Metacritic’s sliding scale from 0 to 100, the final season is rated 67 percent fresh based on 11 reviews.

The following contains spoilers for "Cobra Kai" Season 6 Part 3.
"Cobra Kai" might've reached its final round, but that hasn't stopped the show from inviting some impressive guest stars for its last push. In the closing third of Season 6, Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Amanda Larusso (Courtney Henggeler) are worried about their dear pal, Chozen (Yuji Okumoto). With the guy still hurt about Kumiko and understandably confused about his feelings for his former enemy, Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim), Daniel and Amanda hope to provide some distraction by setting him up on a date with Amanda's pal Winnie. The two clearly make for a mismatched pair, but for fans hungry for nostalgia, it's a perfect fit, seeing as Winnie is played by one of the stars of an '80s staple that's just as iconic as "The Karate Kid" -- namely, "Saved by the Bell" veteran Elizabeth Berkley Lauren.

The final five episodes of Cobra Kai are here, and they’re packed with surprises. There are some explosive (literally speaking) character clashes, a few jaw-dropping decisions by our heroes, and, of course, a few new key cameos. In addition to bringing back another Karate Kid alum — this time, Darryl Vidal to emcee the rebooted Sekai Taikai — the trio of co-creators can also be spotted in key scenes, and, well, ’90s legend Elizabeth Berkley joins in on the fun as well. That’s right, the Saved By the Bell alum makes a surprise debut in the series for the second episode of Season 6, Part 3, “Rattled,” appearing as Winnie, the mother of Moon (Hannah Kepple). She’s an earthy spiritual wanderer type who has a fascination with Japanese culture, so Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Amanda Larusso (Courtney Henggeler) decide to set her up with a very reluctant Chozen (Yuji Okumoto). Chozen...

For a whole generation, Johnny Lawrence, played by Billy Zabka in The Karate Kid, was the zenith of teen villainy. He was rich! He had an entourage of bully minions! The fact that he was tall and blond and preyed on a small, olive-skinned immigrant didn’t look great! Now we can say Johnny was essentially brainwashed into violence by Kreese (Martin Kove), the sociopathic sensei who used his dojo, Cobra Kai, to train Johnny in his extremely aggressive style of karate. But back in the mid-‘80s, Johnny was the jerk against whom all other pop-culture jerks were measured. Even though today’s teen villains have more platforms on which to attack their targets and more bad role models to inculcate them with more bad ideas, there is hope: Cobra Kai shows us that even the most toxic man can be redeemed.

When it first launched as a YouTube series back in 2018, Cobra Kai seemed like a fun throwback, or perhaps just a joke from How I Met Your Mother that had gotten out of hand. It successfully channeled the corny, feel-good vibes of The Karate Kid while reflecting on the notion of nostalgia as the original karate kids Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) wrestled with their past.
It turned out to be a winning formula, eventually turning Cobra Kai into a major Netflix hit, and one that’s led to its final season, which spans five more episodes than the previous seasons, being split into three parts. And while the season feels needlessly prolonged, Cobra Kai’s home stretch ultimately makes for a well-earned and well-executed victory lap.

Cobra KaiSeason 6 Part 3's opening eight minutes are riveting, and the footage doesn’t show any mercy where either the compelling characters or die-hard fans are concerned. The brand-new preview reveals that a month has passed since Part 2’s gut-wrenching finale, and Kwon Jae-Sung’s (Brandon H. Lee) death has left everyone reeling following the tragedy that took place at the global karate tournament, particularly for lifelong enemies, John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio). Josh Heald, who is one of the drama's three showrunners, discussed following up the deadly events of the Sekai Taikai within the series' final five episodes in a new interview (per Tudum) by saying:
"We are now in the aftermath of everyone coming back home. We wanted to explore everybody’s headspace — the people who had all their hopes and dreams tied up with success at the Sekai Taikai; the people who had...

Cobra Kai never dies in this new trailer for the show that continues the legacy of the Karate Kid films. Part 3 of Cobra Kai‘s finale has premiered its final trailer, courtesy of Netflix, and the show is inevitably taking it all back to where it started at the All-Valley Tournament. Imagery of nostalgia continues as shots of Daniel and his now ally, Johnny, both train in the crane kick on the beach like in the original Karate Kid and a trailer mix of “You’re the Best Around” will pump you up for the final round of karate combat.
The season synopsis reads,
“After a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the mat. Almost 40 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, it’s all been leading to this.

On Thursday, Netflix revealed its full 2025 TV slate. The lineup includes the final seasons of two of its biggest shows, Stranger Things and Squid Game, and a second season of its other biggest show, Wednesday. It also includes promising-sounding limited series like Black Rabbit and The Four Seasons, returns of longtime Netflix favorites like Black Mirror and Chef’s Table, an overwhelming number of sports documentaries, and dozens more shows.
The biggest piece of news in the announcement is the startlingly soon release date for Squid Game Season 3. The second and third seasons shot back-to-back, and so the final season is slated for June 27, just six months after the release of Season 2. Netflix also revealed a handful of previously unannounced projects, including a 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina documentary that counts Spike Lee as a director, and a Long Island serial killer docuseries from director Liz Garbus.

While all the characters in Cobra Kai showcase tremendous karate skills, the actors who play them aren’t all proficient in the martial art, or any martial art, for that matter. Some of them, however, do have extensive training in real life. Thomas Ian Griffith, for example, who plays Terry Silver, has been studying karate since he was in high school and has amassed more than 40 years of training. Sean Kenan, who plays Mike Barnes, was initially hired for The Karate Kid III because he already had karate experience.
What about the younger, new cast members? Some of them have dabbled in martial arts prior to receiving training for this series. In the latest and final sixth season of the series, one actor who has real-life martial arts experience is Rayna Vallandingham, who plays the fierce Iron Dragons student and social influencer Zara Malik.

Quick Links The Cast of 'Cobra Kai' Is Well Trained Which Cast Members Have the Most Extensive Training? The Younger Cast Members Have Less Experience Cobra Kai's Epic Fight Scenes
When actors take on physically demanding roles in movies and TV shows, it often requires intense training. This might involve hand-to-hand combat, gun use, a specific sport, and martial arts. When it comes to Cobra Kai, almost everyone in the cast has had to show off martial arts skills as they engage in fight scenes both in the dojo and outside of it. But fans are curious: did any of the actors who play the main characters have prior training, or did they all have to fast-track learning the basics of karate to make it believable?

Cobra Kai will wrap up its successful six-season run in February. While the series has featured some unexpected storylines, the show's composers, Zach Robinson and Leo Birenberg, say the final episodes will take fans through a rollercoaster of emotions.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Robinson reflected on his time with Cobra Kai and how his work has mirrored the evolution of the series. "I'm not going to lie, it was pretty intimidating to watch those last 15 minutes of Season 6, Episode 10," he said. "But I think we have grown so much as just composers and our writing has gotten better because this show has consistently pushed us every single year. You can't say that about a lot of projects that you work on."

Cobra Kai's six-season run showed how to celebrate a classic project while still modernizing it for younger audiences, but there are still a few storylines to be resolved before the Karate Kid legacy series wraps up. By juxtaposing Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) old-school way of living with the younger, much more forward-thinking group of young students, Cobra Kai created its own identity and set itself apart from the Karate Kid movies. The abrupt way the films ended probably won't be replicated in the show, but seeing as there have been so many similarities and connections, some sort of happy ending is expected.

The Big Bang Theory universe has expanded with Young Sheldon and now, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, but despite existing in the same reality, there are very few characters who actually appeared in all three shows. In 2007, Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady launched the nerd-centric sitcom after a few changes to its original iteration. The result was a stronger series debut, although still far from the juggernaut that it eventually became later on. The Big Bang Theory's popularity despite its problematic brand of comedy resulted in offshoots, starting with Young Sheldon, which essentially confirmed Sheldon as its true lead.
As the universe sustains its success, it has also evolved beyond the flagship's original premise. On the heels of Young Sheldon's emotional finale, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was born. Technically also a prequel, the new sitcom focuses on Sheldon's oldest brother and his growing family — something that The Big Bang Theory never mentioned.

When Cobra Kai first started out, the show focused on the age-old rivalry between Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Larence (William Zabka). Their built-up resentment was then mirrored by Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Robbie's (Tanner Buchannan) on-screen fighting throughout season 1 and beyond. But, there was another serious antagonism about to brew when a new character entered the scene to challenge a previously unchallenged Samantha Larusso (Mary Mouser).
Tory Nichols (Peyton List) showed up in season 2 with an edge and a lot of trust issues. She got close to Miguel, and then Robby, all the while, Sam was dealing with her own romantic entaglements with the boys. Completely different backgrounds and upbringings, plus the romantic rhombus that had developed, led to a lot of animosity between Cobra Kai's young leading ladies. Over Cobra Kai's six seasons, Sam and Tory fought many times, with the Cobra Kai actors often performing their own stunts.

Recordad: Cobra Kai nunca muere. © Netflix

Cobra Kai may be ending with Season 6, but the future of the franchise just received a positive update from co-creator Jon Hurwitz. The showrunner took part in a Q&a session on X/Twitter ahead of the release of the final episodes of the series, and among the many questions he responded to, one particular comment caught the attention of many fans.
