There’s something about Cobra Kai that just hits different, I can’t quite put a finger on it because it feels like so many things at once, like the nostalgia it brings, the karate showdowns, and the emotional depth. At the center of it was Amanda Larusso, quietly keeping everything together and putting the madness in check.

I’ve seen her confront man-children in black gis, put out fires, and remind Daniel of important lessons. She was such a layered character who grounded the show, and I wished to see more of her in the upcoming movies and possible spin-offs, but unfortunately, that might not be possible.

Cobra Kai came to an end on Netflix after six seasons earlier this year. Now, one of the stars who was part of the show since the very beginning of its run on YouTube and later Netflix has retired from acting.

According to a report from Variety, Courtney Henggeler, who starred as Amanda Larusso in all six seasons of Cobra Kai, has officially retired from acting. Henggeler announced the news in a post on her Substack, Notes from the Guest Cottage by Courtney Henggeler.

Part 3 of Cobra Kai‘s finale has premiered its final trailer, courtesy of Netflix, and the show is inevitably taking it all back to where it started at the All-Valley Tournament. Imagery of nostalgia continues as shots of Daniel and his now ally, Johnny, both train in the crane kick on the beach like in the original Karate Kid and a trailer mix of “You’re the Best Around” will pump you up for the final round of karate combat.

The season synopsis reads,

“After a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the mat. Almost 40 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, it’s all been leading to this.

Fans can now break down the new sneak peek preview of Cobra Kai’s emotional swan song in Season 6 Part 3 (watch it below). After six seasons of Johnny Lawrence-level badassery, the Miyagi-Do students are hanging up their gis as the final five episodes are scheduled to drop Feb. 13, on Netflix. The brand-new footage gives the faithful followers of TheKarate Kid spin-off series a very small taste of what’s to come following the tragic death of Cobra Kai’s hot-headed student Kwon (Brandon H. On Thursday, Netflix revealed its full 2025 TV slate. The lineup includes the final seasons of two of its biggest shows, Stranger Things and Squid Game, and a second season of its other biggest show, Wednesday. It also includes promising-sounding limited series like Black Rabbit and The Four Seasons, returns of longtime Netflix favorites like Black Mirror and Chef’s Table, an overwhelming number of sports documentaries, and dozens more shows.

The biggest piece of news in the announcement is the startlingly soon release date for Squid Game Season 3. The second and third seasons shot back-to-back, and so the final season is slated for June 27, just six months after the release of Season 2. Some of them, however, do have extensive training in real life. Thomas Ian Griffith, for example, who plays Terry Silver, has been studying karate since he was in high school and has amassed more than 40 years of training. Sean Kenan, who plays Mike Barnes, was initially hired for The Karate Kid III because he already had karate experience.

What about the younger, new cast members? Some of them have dabbled in martial arts prior to receiving training for this series. In the latest and final sixth season of the series, one actor who has real-life martial arts experience is Rayna Vallandingham, who plays the fierce Iron Dragons student and social influencer Zara Malik.

In 2007, Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady launched the nerd-centric sitcom after a few changes to its original iteration. The result was a stronger series debut, although still far from the juggernaut that it eventually became later on. The Big Bang Theory's popularity despite its problematic brand of comedy resulted in offshoots, starting with Young Sheldon, which essentially confirmed Sheldon as its true lead.

As the universe sustains its success, it has also evolved beyond the flagship's original premise. On the heels of Young Sheldon's emotional finale, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was born. Technically also a prequel, the new sitcom focuses on Sheldon's oldest brother and his growing family — something that The Big Bang Theory never mentioned.

When Cobra Kai first started out, the show focused on the age-old rivalry between Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Larence (William Zabka). Their built-up resentment was then mirrored by Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Robbie's (Tanner Buchannan) on-screen fighting throughout season 1 and beyond. But, there was another serious antagonism about to brew when a new character entered the scene to challenge a previously unchallenged Samantha Larusso (Mary Mouser).

Tory Nichols (Peyton List) showed up in season 2 with an edge and a lot of trust issues. She got close to Miguel, and then Robby, all the while, Sam was dealing with her own romantic entaglements with the boys. Completely different backgrounds and upbringings, plus the romantic rhombus that had developed, led to a lot of animosity between Cobra Kai's young leading ladies. Over Cobra Kai's six seasons, Sam and Tory fought many times, with the Cobra Kai actors often performing their own stunts.

The end of Cobra Kai is near. Netflix has announced the premiere date for the remaining episodes of the sixth and final season of the sequel series with the release of a teaser trailer.

The end of an era is arriving, as Cobra Kai is wrapping up early next year. Netflix has just shared a new sneak peek at the third and final portion of episodes for Season 6, and it includes the announcement of a premiere date.

As noted in the video, Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 3 will premiere on Netflix on Feb. 13, 2025. "Four decades of history all leading to this moment," declares a voiceover heard in the announcement trailer. Also heard is the phrase, "This may be the end, but Cobra Kai never dies." Cobra Kai has finally unveiled the release date for the final chapter of the series in a new teaser trailer for Season 6. Cobra Kai may be ending with Season 6, but the future of the franchise just received a positive update from co-creator Jon Hurwitz.
