Biography

Michaela Domier was born in McMinnville, OR, on what she has been told, "the hottest day of the year". She grew up in Sherwood, OR where she lived with her parents, sister, and two Australian Shepherds. She wanted to be a veterinarian for most of her life until she got to middle school and discovered what screenwriting was. From that point on, Michaela has been writing and her only goal is to be a successful screenwriter.

In high school, she became involved with the theater program where she helped build sets. When she was 16, she received the Silver Key in the Original Screenplay category of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. While attending Portland State University, she worked on films "Alone" and "Timmy Failure" as a production assistant. She also spent a summer interning at Koerner Camera Systems where she gained a better understanding of various cameras and film equipment. In her final year at Portland State, she had two poems published in her school's Pathos Literary Magazine. After graduating, she worked as a Transportation Coordinator on the Sunriver Auditions of "American Idol".

In 2020, she moved to Bend, OR to work with Chad Copeland on his upcoming projects and assist with his gallery located in Sunriver, OR.

Passionate about social issues, her ultimate goal write original stories that focus on marginalized groups of people in hopes to bring these stories to the forefront of mainstream film.
