One Piece Chapter 1154: Rocks D. Xebec Turned an Impossible Feat Into a Ticket to Becoming the Most Dangerous Pirate
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for One Piece chapter 1154.

The recent spoilers for One Piece chapter 1154 have unveiled one of the most mysterious characters within the story, Rocks D. Xebec. Xebec was introduced long ago, along with the God Valley Incident, and from then on, he built a villainous but impressive image due to his actions in the past. The upcoming chapter also adds new developments to his character.

One significant development about his character that shocked One Piece fans was that he killed a Navy Admiral, which earned him the status of a wanted man. He was the first character to achieve this feat, and this most probably marked his journey as the most dangerous pirate from four decades ago.

Xebec killing an Admiral puts him above most of the One Piece villains in terms of evil deeds, and it won’t come as a surprise if he...

One Piece Chapter 1154: Loki Falling in Love With Lola Only Makes Sense Because of a Heartbreaking Theory
Image
One Piece Chapter 1154 has given us a look at the emotionally complicated childhood of Loki. We see him facing tonnes of difficulties as a child. He is rejected by the entirety of Elbaph, and we are told that he doesn’t know what “love” is. This made us think: How did he fall in love with Lola, if he didn’t know what love was?

One Piece fan theories are truly the best. A theory we found on Reddit suggests that Loki’s love for Lola stems from a lifetime of emotional starvation. Perhaps Lola’s kindness was the first genuine warmth Loki ever experienced, which is why he misinterpreted it as romantic love. This gives us a new perspective on Loki’s character.

Also termed as the nation of the giants, Elbaph holds a lot of mysteries about the One Piece storyline, which will soon be revealed to fans as the story moves forward into the second phase of the final saga.

Recently, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, talked about Elbaph and its design in the Sbs Volume 112. It was disclosed that Elbaph’s design foreshadowed a major aspect of the nation, and it hinted at this mystery about the nation more than 2 arcs ago.

Not only that, he even revealed the geographical inspiration behind creating the different villages of Elbaph. These inspirations have confirmed that Oda has been using Norse mythology and its references to plan the narrative structure of the Elbaph arc in One Piece.

Eiichiro Oda Confirmed a Non-Canon ‘One Piece’ Movie Influenced a Loki Element in Elbaph
Image
One Piece movies have been an interesting addition to the franchise, but they have sparked some major debates among fans. Most of these debates are centered around the fact that whether the storylines and characters portrayed in the movies are canon or just created to motivate One Piece fans to watch the films.

From the former Marine Admiral Z to Luffy finding the Eternal Pose to Laugh Tale, these characters and plot developments have been quite confusing for fans. However, Eiichiro Oda recently cleared the mystery behind one element from the non-canonical One Piece Film: Strong World, the 10th One Piece film of the series, which came out in 2009.

The elements were the strange animals that Shiki, the antagonist of the story, used in the movie, who shared similarities with the animals that Loki befriended in the Underworld. The One Piece mangaka confirmed that they are the same and thus followed a similar theme.

One Piece Chapter 1153 Spoilers: Loki’s Tragedy Is the Key to Joining Luffy’s Crew
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for One Piece chapter 1153.

The recently released brief summary spoilers for One Piece chapter 1153 have finally shed some light on Hajrudin and Loki’s mothers, Ida and Edris. The story focused on how Harald’s character went through a change, and the portrayal of his wife and his former lover.

While not much was revealed about Ida, a sad development about Edris has made fans sympathize with Loki. When Loki was born, Edris was terrified of Loki and thus, she threw him into the Underworld. This adds another rejection in Loki’s life, which makes his development even sadder.

However, these heartbreaking plots in Loki’s life might be the reason why he will join the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy’s impartiality towards other characters will come in clutch here and might motivate Loki to become a member of the crew in One Piece.

Eiichiro Oda Made a Character Worse Than Every ‘One Piece’ Villain
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!The following article contains major spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1153.

Readers of One Piece are familiar with the series’ villains. Eiichiro Oda, the author of the manga, has created some amazingly well-written antagonists whom you can’t help but hate. Whether it’s the mad Red Dog Akainu or the ruthless Kaido, the series has no shortage of despicable villains.

However, Oda has created a character who surpasses all these villains. We are referring to Loki’s mother, Estridd. Why are we blaming her, you ask? The reason for this is her actions. Those are more vile than anything we’ve ever seen before. Let’s understand why her actions have made her an irredeemable figure in One Piece.

Image
With Imu’s power finally coming to light, we might get to see a whole lot darker side of One Piece! The fact that he can literally turn people into demons is haunting enough for anyone. However, there also seems to be some rules to his power, otherwise, it’s game over for all the opposing characters.

And if multiple crew members get affected, that’s a civil war brewing in the Grand Line. Imagine Nami, Zoro, and Chopper all fighting Luffy – the captain would have his hands full just trying to protect his crew, let alone save the world.

Imu may turn the Straw Hat pirates into demons!

Oda has always been a master at foreshadowing. He foreshadows stuff that fans get to see 100s of episodes later.

Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This chapter contains spoilers for One Piece chapter 1150.

The recent brief summary spoilers of One Piece chapter 1150 have shaken the entire fan base with the developments involving Imu’s attack on Elbaph. The main antagonist of the One Piece storyline has finally played his move, and it is a big one, considering he was not only able to defeat the Giant Warrior Pirates, but he also managed to take control of them.

This is a big deal as it explains the might of the Supreme Leader of the World Government and how dangerous the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates is going to be. Also, the fact that Scopper Gaban, the only character who could have helped in some way, is now removed from the One Piece story makes things even more difficult.

One Piece Chapter 1143 Ends On A Tense Cliffhanger & Teases a Major Elbaph Lore Reveal
Image
The following contains spoilers for Chapter 1143 of One Piece, "God's Knights," now available in English from Viz.

The last chapter of One Piece's manga saw the banished giant prince Loki nearly bring Elbaph to ruins as he made demands to secure his freedom, and One Piece Chapter 1143 swiftly follows up on Loki's rampage in the Underworld. The stakes keep getting higher and higher as the tree-covered island of Elbaph and its innocent children are threatened, but it's not enough to just raise the physical stakes. One Piece Chapter 1143 also cleverly teases some personal stakes.

As the Straw Hats recently learned, Loki and Hajrudin are half-brothers and the sons of the late king Harald, which helps reinforce the mounting personal drama between those royal giants. Such a development helps strengthen the emotional core of One Piece Chapter 1143, "God's Knights," and it helps the chapter build on One Piece Chapter 1142's...

One Piece: Oda Just Setup Loki’s Heroic Return With the Most Twisted Devil Fruit Power That Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji Can’t Beat
Image
[spoilers]

The new leaks for Chapter 1143 are out for One Piece’s manga. While everyone complains about how short Loki and Luffy’s destined fight was, Shepherd Sommers has a Devil Fruit no one could’ve predicted. It’s unclear how the Elbaphians will bring the children to safety after this.

In the latest chapter, it’s revealed that the controlled children can’t be touched because of Saint Sommers’ Devil Fruit. Meanwhile, the nightmares were indeed manifested by Saint Killingham’s Devil Fruit, the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Qilin, as predicted.

The chapter ends on a cliffhanger that Loki either didn’t kill his dad or it wasn’t because he wanted to. It seems like theories were right that he might be a good person after all and instead help the children free from Sommers’ thorns. One Piece is picking up the pace now.

One Piece: Oda’s Greatest Red Herring With Loki Might Split the Fandom but I Feel That’s the Right Way Ahead
Image
Loki’s Devil Fruit, which he killed his own father for, is the greatest mystery in the Elbaph Arc. Eiichiro Oda loves to tease before the final big reveal or introduce some sort of plot twist into One Piece. It’s what keeps the story fresh and interesting and now Loki is at the center of it.

Loki’s powers have been foreshadowed for a while. The Elbaphians are scared of him, warning Luffy not to engage. He’s also earned himself a rare special bounty of 2.6 billion berries. He also claims to be the Sun God and claims to have a Devil Fruit but he’s already strong enough with Ragnir.

There’s too much going on about him and weekly chapters of One Piece have made fans, including me, impatient. A lot about Loki doesn’t make sense. The way he presents himself...

Image
The most significant character of the Elbaph arc in One Piece, Loki, is still a big mystery for the majority of fans. While he has had frequent appearances in the story, there are still a lot of things hidden about his character that will soon be unraveled by Eiichiro Oda as the story moves on. However, the biggest mystery about his character is still his connection to Big Mom.

Two key characters in the film are mysteriously murdered, including Amanda Halverson (Freddie Mosten-Jacob) and Johan Andersson (Viktor Åkerblom). ‘The Are Murders’ Recap And Ending Explained: Who Killed Johan Andersson?

Nordic noirs have started gaining prominence in recent years, with titles like The Valhalla Murders and Detective Forst ranking high amidst original series with high viewership counts. Netflix’s Swedish thriller, The Are Murders, is the latest addition to the list, an adaptation of Viveca Sten’s two novels from the Sandhamn murder series, “Hidden in Snows” and “Hidden in Shadows.” The series focuses on two separate cases—while the first three episodes chronicle the murder investigation of teenager Amanda, the following two episodes revolve around the death of former skier Johan Andersson. Both the cases, set in Are—a small picturesque Swedish locality—are handled by the detective duo Daniel and Hanna, who must uncover the troubling secrets concealed underneath the seemingly peaceful, family-oriented community.

The Åre Murders Season 1 Review: Dual Mysteries and Stark Social Reflections
Image
The Åre Murders Season 1 appears as a Nordic noir crime thriller on Netflix, adapted from the works of Swedish novelist Viveca Sten. Drawing from the narratives of “Hidden in Snow” and “Hidden in the Shadows,” the series introduces two investigations that uncover personal failings and communal secrets in a society under strain. This dual-case framework prompts viewers to reflect on the interplay between individual missteps and collective responsibility.

Set against the wintry backdrop of Åre—a town celebrated for its ski resorts, snowy peaks, and a glistening lake—the series uses the cold season to instill a mood that is both stark and thought-provoking.

Winter celebrations, including the Lucia observances, cast a subtle irony over the festive air as dark themes quietly emerge. The contrast between the holiday spirit and the series’ grim subject matter hints at a cultural commentary on the contradictions present in modern life.

Image
Ever since the Elbaph arc started in One Piece, one of the biggest questions that has been bugging fans for a long time is the mysterious power that Loki holds in the form of the ultimate Devil Fruit. The revelation of this power is extremely important to his character development, and while Oda has been keeping it a mystery, he might have to reveal it sooner or later.

One of the main reasons why fans are desperate to learn about this Devil Fruit is because it became the cause of death for the King of Elbaph and the father of Loki, Harald. This Devil Fruit was passed down through the royal bloodline of Elbaph, and it was disclosed that in order to attain this power, Loki killed his own father, which in turn earned him the “accursed prince” moniker.

‘The Are Murders’ Netflix Review: A Modern Swedish Tale Of Corruption And Grisly Violence
Image
Murder mysteries have intrigued humans since the earliest days of fiction writing, and the genre has been adapted, over time, to various geographic and temporal boundaries in an effort to make novels and stories more topical. Technological advancement and shifts in geopolitical situations have meant that the forms of crime and deception have also been updated by perpetrators, and novels, films, and shows of the crime fiction genre have now naturally adapted to these updates. The new Swedish crime thriller series streaming on Netflix, The Are Murders, is one such work, where the newer and more convincing types of crimes get highlighted, although there is still a touch of primitiveness in its stories. With five episodes in total, The Are Murders is divided into two parts—“Hidden in Snow,” which is covered in the first three episodes, and “Hidden in the Shadow,” making up for the content in the last two episodes.

One Piece Chapter 1137 Review: Lore Dumping Almost Makes Up For a Lack of Action
Image
The following contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1137, "Introducing Shamrock," now available in English from Viz Media.

The new chapter of One Piece's manga serves mainly to expand the lore of Elbaph and enhance the suspense about how the World Government will antagonize the island of giants here in the Elbaph story arc. It's all but inevitable the World Government will try to completely ruin Elbaph one way or another, with the real question being how they will do so, and what the Straw Hats will do to stop them. On that topic, Chapter 1137 does a fine job setting everything up, but with limited payoff.

Being a setup chapter, "Introducing Shamrock" suffers from feeling like it's holding still, even when important pieces of lore are revealed or Gunko uses her brand-new Arrow-Arrow fruit to beat up the captive Loki in Elbaph's Underworld region. The reveals are all interesting and can...

One Piece: Oda Has Already Hinted Why Loki Isn’t the Villain in Elbaph After What Luffy Did With Shirahoshi and Momo

So far in the story, Eiichiro Oda has posed Loki as an ambiguous character in One Piece. The giants largely believe him to be the ‘accursed prince’ and the ‘shame of Elbaph,’ however Loki being evil doesn’t follow the usual pattern of One Piece.

While Mosa/Shaggy believes that Loki hides his true feelings behind his harsh words, the supposed murder of his father leads fans to believe otherwise. But Eiichiro Oda might have already hinted at the fact that Loki isn’t actually malicious through various developments in One Piece.

Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for chapter 1136 of One Piece!

The current obsession of One Piece fans is the Accursed Prince himself, Loki of Elbaph. Whether it’s about his Devil Fruit or his true nature, fans have cultivated several theories about him. While some are pretty out there and reach for the stars, some align with Eiichiro Oda’s thinking.

The little we know about Loki isn’t enough to confirm any of these theories, particularly whether he is a good person. Luffy seems to think so. However, now that we know something about King Harald’s dream, it makes no sense why the Prince would kill him in the first place.

“He’s a Threat in the Same Way Kidd Is a Threat”: Shanks Imprisoning Loki Is Still Not Solid Proof That We Have Our Next One Piece Villain in Elbaph
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for Chapter 1136 of One Piece!

The leaks for chapter 1136 of One Piece confirmed an important theory regarding Red-Haired Shanks. No, he isn’t secretly a traitor yet. The latest chapter affirms that he was the man who stopped Loki 6 years ago and subsequently became an Emperor.

Many fans have taken Shanks’ involvement with Loki’s imprisonment as a hint towards his morality. They believe the Emperor wouldn’t fight anyone that doesn’t pose a serious threat. However, the events of One Piece suggest otherwise.

Shanks fought Eustass Kidd and destroyed his ship when we know the younger pirate was trying to prove his strength. Later, he doesn’t spare Bartolomeo and his crew after finding out their allegiance to Luffy. Both crews were harmless in the long run of One Piece.

So does Shanks imprisoning Loki prove anything...

One Piece: Elbaph Is Already Copying the Best Part About Dressrosa That Might Prove Loki Didn’t Kill King Harald
Image
The initially assumed villain of the Elbaph arc in One Piece, Loki has finally got some relief ever since the Twin Shanks made his official introduction in the series. The arrival of the character has prompted fans to think that maybe Loki is not the main antagonist of the arc and he might just team up with Luffy to take Twin Shanks down.

Loki’s revelation in One Piece | Credit: Viz Media

One of the main reasons why Loki was thought to be the villain of Elbaph was the rumor about him killing his father, King Harald. This incident also earned him the name “The Accursed Prince.” and deemed him the enemy of the Giants in One Piece. However, there is a chance that Loki might have been falsely accused of killing King Harald.

There are speculations that Twin Shanks might be the one to kill King Harald and then blame it on Loki.

Why is "Shanks" so Interested in Finding Loki One Piece Chapter 1135?
Image
Shanks is one of the most influential pirates in all of One Piece, being a Yonko who influenced Monkey D. Luffy's rise as the future King of the Pirates, but Shanks is perhaps the most mysterious character on the Grand Line, with conflicting motivations that almost make it seem like he's more than just one person. From stopping the Summit War to meeting with the Five Elders in secret despite his status as a pirate, Shanks' actions seem contradictory.

With the reveal that Shanks might not be the only person on Elbaph with Red Hair, theories have circulated as to the true identity of "Shanks", someone with an uncanny resemblance to the Emperor of the Sea, especially now that he's supposed to be off Elbaf. Just who exactly is this copycat, and why is he so interested in finding Loki?

One Piece's New Arc May Give Luffy His First Real Character Development in Years
Image
The new One Piece arc, Elbaph, has been teased for two decades, highlighting its significance to the main cast and the profound impact it will have on the series' narrative. Throughout the story, numerous hints have highlighted the importance of this arc, so it’s no surprise that Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of One Piece, is at its center. Luffy's latest upgrade, Gear 5, is connected to the Sun God Nika, a deity heavily incorporated into the lore of Elbaph.

This connection will lead to a significant upgrade for Luffy in this arc. However, these upgrades will hopefully focus on Luffy's emotional growth and meaningful emotional development, something the character has lacked since the Marineford arc. While this has been a concern among fans, a moment from chapter #1131 of One Piece offers a hint at how Luffy might finally experience real character growth after years.

One Piece Might Be...

‘Narratively this would be great storytelling’: Eiichiro Oda Has the Best Chance to Make One Piece Truly Dark if He Ditches 1 Trope in Elbaph
Image
With only eight chapters under its belt, the Elbaph arc has already become one of the greatest storylines in One Piece. The arc has already seen some of the greatest developments in the different aspects of the story, and it is only going to get better from here. However, in order to do that, Eiichiro Oda might have to drop a major trope that has been going on since the beginning of One Piece.

One Piece | Credit: Toei Animation

This trope revolves around Luffy and his trusting nature. Ever since One Piece started, almost every character that Luffy has trusted has turned out to be a significant inclusion in the narrative. These characters have always been on the good side no matter what the initial plot says about them, and this makes Luffy look like a better judge of character.

But there is a possibility that this plot structure might change,...

Image
The talk of the One Piece community at the moment is the Prince of Elbaf, Loki, and his mysterious and overpowered Devil Fruit. While there is still so much left unanswered, Loki himself claims he’s the Sun God, the real one unlike Road, and it begs the question of why the giant said this after Luffy’s big moment in Wano. Is Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika not the real one or is there some deception at play here against the Prince? Knowing Loki’s power and bounty, he’s not joking about it. So, who is the real Sun God?

One Piece: Oda Has Seemingly Confirmed Shanks’ True Status After What He Did to Become a Yonko Before Luffy

Spoiler Alert !!!One Piece chapter 1131 spoilers

The recent spoilers of One Piece chapter 1131 have revealed many significant details about the alleged villain of the Elbaph arc. Loki, also known as the Accursed Prince of Elbaph, has been portrayed as the antagonist because of his actions against his own father, King Harald, and the tyranny that Loki displayed over the people of Elbaph.

The one thing that has enthralled fans is Loki’s unique connection with Red-Haired Shanks, one of the Emperors of the One Piece world. Loki’s comment about Shanks hints that he hates Shanks and probably has some history with him. Also, the facts about his imprisonment weirdly align with one of the most crucial moments in Shanks’ life.

If 1 Groundbreaking One Piece Theory is True, Eiichiro Oda Will Make Loki a Bigger Anti-Hero Than Zoro
Image
One Piece has a vast range of characters which include a lot of unconventional tropes. Characters are not single dimensional and all major and even some minor characters have been beautifully fleshed out. Eiichiro Oda takes great care to make his characters realistic (excuse Zoro’s sense of direction).

There are also several anti-heroes in the series, including Roronoa Zoro, who has a past of being a bounty hunter and assassin, and very little moral obligations if it comes to saving the Straw Hats. But as the Elbaph arc progresses, another prospect of an anti-hero emerges.

Loki Will Eat the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Surtr Devil Fruit That is Potentially Stronger Than Luffy’s Model: Nika – One Piece Theory
Image
With the crazy revelation of Loki in One Piece, fans have turned rampant with theories that are equally insane. Most of them surround the nature of Loki’s Devil Fruit which he killed his own father, King Harald, for. The Prince has been deemed dangerous and has been chained up in Elbaf ever since his violent acts have alarmed the citizens. It is quite the switch from the goofy silhouette that we saw during the Whole Cake Island Arc and his proposal to Charlotte Lola.

The mystery around Loki’s Devil Fruit will be one of the biggest revelations of power in One Piece. The Prince has claimed he is the true “Sun God” and that he will end the world. Loki seems to be very pleased and jovial about his plans when telling Luffy about this. One Piece might see its biggest fight so far,...

One Piece: Loki’s Real Devil Fruit Makes Him a True Contender for ‘Sun God’ and Oda Hinted it Back in Dressrosa
Image
With the reveal of Loki’s character in One Piece, Eiichiro Oda has made the narrative even more complex than it was before. Loki was one of the most anticipated characters for the fans considering his importance in Elbaph, but it looks like fans will have to wait a few more days to find out more about him as the One Piece manga has gone on a two-week hiatus.

As of now, the only information known about Loki is that he killed his father, King Harald, to gain access to the legendary Devil Fruit, and he calls himself the Sun God, who will bring ruin to the One Piece world. The biggest mystery, on the other hand, is the ability of the Devil Fruit that he stole. Evidently, it made him the strongest Giant in Elbaph.

While fans have been trying to figure out Loki’s Devil Fruit,...

One Piece Characters Who Can Defeat Loki, The Cursed Prince Of Elbaf
Image
Elbaf is considered the strongest country in the world because it is inhabited by Giants. Loki is regarded as Elbaf's Cursed Prince because he killed his father, King Harald, to obtain a legendary Devil Fruit. It does not help that he seemingly wants to destroy the world. It took the combined might of every Elbaf warrior to imprison Loki, which implies that he is incredibly strong, but there are a few One Piece characters who can probably beat him.

Most of the characters who can defeat Loki are fearsome pirates who possess immense Haki and powerful Devil Fruits, but some of these pirates can defeat him with Haki alone. Two extremely high-ranking Celestial Dragons can also defeat him, and these individuals are even more troublesome because they seem to be immortal.

Image
The latest One Piece manga chapter 1130 has introduced the much-awaited character of Loki to the fans, and he is nothing like what they expected. Vikings: Valhalla Ending With Season 3 Robbed Us Of The Biggest Story For Ragnar's Replacement
Image
Vikings: Valhalla ended with its third season, leaving many loose ends and big storylines unexplored, but it also robbed the audience of the biggest and best Ragnar replacement. After the success of Vikings, the show expanded with a sequel series titled Vikings: Valhalla, set over a hundred years after the events of Vikings season 6. As such, Vikings: Valhalla followed new characters with different backgrounds and goals, though all of them connected through their Viking heritage. Vikings: Valhalla covered the final years of the Viking Age, beginning with the St. Brices Day Massacre.

Vikings: Valhalla followed siblings Leif Erikson (Sam Corlett) and Freydis Eirksdttir (Frida Gustavsson), who meet Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter) when they arrive in Kattegat. The three become very close, and they team up with King Canute (Bradley Freegard) and against Haralds half-brother, Olaf Haraldsson (Jhannes Hawker Jhannesson), all this with the conflict between Christians and pagans as the backdrop.

I Can't Believe Vikings: Valhalla Ended After Setting Up A Huge Story That Would've Realized Godwin's Dream
Image
When Netflix's hugely popular Vikings: Valhalla ended, it left me dissatisfied by some of its loose ends. The Vikings spinoff based its main characters on real figures from 11th-century Europe, such as the famed Viking explorer, Leif Erikson, and Canute, the Viking king of England. While Valhalla repeated Vikings lack of historical accuracy, it contained many subtle nods that only history buffs would pick up on. One of these centered around Earl Godwin, Canute's scheming advisor. Along with his heirs, Godwin had a major role to play in an important period of English history.

I became fascinated by this character ever since the shocking scene where Godwin killed King Edmund. Unlike Valhalla's more brutal warlord antagonists, Godwin relied on cunning, surreptitiously pulling strings to bring about his ultimate dream: to see his son become the king of England. Netflix's disappointing decision to end Vikings: Valhalla after season 3 meant...

Kleo: Nikolai’s Operation Ludsch, Explained: Why Did Nikolai Take Over Kgb?
Image
Nikolai Zhukov was a pretty conflicted man. A man divided between duty, loyalty, and family. To be honest, we don’t know much about him, right? In season 2, he was introduced as an ex-Kgb agent who was keeping a watch on our hero Kleo Straub. [Spoiler Alert] As the series progressed, we got to know more and more about him. Who he was and what he was trying to accomplish.

Back in the day, Nikolai was a Soviet patriot and devoted communist who resented the ideas of the West. He wanted to protect his country and bring glory to his nation at all costs. Nikolai was married to Otto Straub’s only daughter, Brigitte. I believe anyone who has watched the two seasons of Kleo knows who Otto is and what ideals he believes in. He wanted his daughter to marry someone who would never betray his country, and perhaps Nikolai seemed like a perfect fit.
