Born in Bengal, in a Bengali family, Tarun went to find fortune in Bombay Film City at a very early age and after much struggle went on prospering with one after another successful movie, toured the world, enjoyed life, was actively into the silver screen world for more than 3 decades from 1966 to 1998, but all of a sudden took refuge in the spiritual lap.Tarun Ghosh became the follower of Sri Ramkrishna Paramahansa Dev and came to live in Rishikesh in 2000. between he went to Ottacamund in the South for some time and built a house in Chitrakoot, but in a short while shifted to Varanasi. He adopted a daughter in Varanasi, named her Rita Ghosh, and ultimately shifted to Rishikesh in the year 2010 for good. An introvert by nature, he did not speak much about his personal life and always said that he moved according to his Master, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa's advice, kept meditating for hours and hours. Even at the age of 93 years, Tarun Ghosh cooked for himself and avoided anything offered by others. A down to earth personality who worked in Hindi movies for 3 decades.
