Ingrid Torelli made a strong impression with her performance in last year’s horror hit Late Night with the Devil, and now, The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that she has landed the lead role in the shark thriller Breathe Deep! The project is described as being “a survival action-thriller set in the world of social media (but with sharks).”

Written and directed by James Kermack (Hi-Lo Joe), Breathe Deep will see Torelli taking on the role of Addy Frost, an exploration influencer who returns to the Devil’s Triangle 13 years after witnessing her father’s death in a shark attack. But when he replicates his encounter, donning a version of her dad’s vintage diving suit and descending into the deep, she finds herself in a battle for survival with a killer great white.

Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones) and TikTok star Avani Gregg are also in the cast.

For the second quarter in a row, Snap, Inc. exceeded expectations on its topline numbers. The parent company of Snapchat enjoyed a stock market bump after sharing its Q4 2024 earnings report, which pegged its quarterly revenue at $1.56 billion — slightly higher than projections.

In a move that likely won’t result in any backlash whatsoever, Rihanna has recruited Johnny Depp to appear in her upcoming Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4, Rolling Stone has confirmed.

TMZ first reported that Depp — four months removed from his defamation trial against Amber Heard — will appear during a featured “star” moment during the fashion show, which premieres on Prime Video on Nov. 9. While Depp’s appearance is reportedly a “brief cameo,” he’s the first-ever male celebrity to fill that role in a Fenty show.

It’s official: Rihanna is making her long-awaited return to music with “Lift Me Up,” the lead single on Marvel’s blockbuster sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

The song, a tribute to the life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman, was written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and director Ryan Coogler. It will be released on Friday, Oct. 28 in advance of the movie, which premieres in theaters on Nov. 11. Organizers MRC Live and Alternative Tubefilter unveiled nominees for the 2021 YouTube Streamy Awards on Wednesday. The list of noms range from up-and-comers to global stars including Bill Gates, Lil Nas X, Nick Jonas, Hailey Bieber, Ryan Reynolds and Will Smith.

Winners will be announced in December during a livestreamed ceremony. Additional creator appearances and show details are to come.

This year’s top nominees include MrBeast (with seven nominations) along with Emma Chamberlain, true crime and makeup maven Bailey Sarian, Bella Poarch, gaming collective FaZe Clan, comedic gamer Markiplier, and “kidfluencer” Ryan’s World. Other notable names include Addison Rae, Sunisa Lee and Dream.

The Streamy Awards honor creator excellence in online video content. More than half of this year’s nominations were first-time nominees.

Charli and Dixie D’Amelio hosted a digital fashion show of sorts yesterday evening to plug the second drop from their Gen Z-focused fashion line, Social Tourist.

Social Tourist is a sub-brand of Hollister, which is in turn owned by Abercrombie & Fitch. The livestreaming fashion show took place on Charli's TikTok channel, the biggest on the platform with 118 million followers.

Rather than a traditional catwalk, the sisters enlisted a slew of fellow TikTok stars to showcase items from the collection, including Avani Gregg, Madi Monroe, Markell Washington, Curtis Newbill, Caroline Ricke, and Phoebe Hines. The live stream also saw the D'Amelios offering commentary about each piece, complete with a link to shop the collection on its proprietary website in real-time. Charli and Dixie also answered viewer questions in the comments of the stream.

Mama Knows Best, which Rae co-hosts with her mother, Sheri Nicole, has been redubbed That Was Fun? The podcast, now in video format, will also feature interviews with celebrity guests as well as a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Rae’s busy life.

The first season of Mama Knows Best comprised 21 audio episodes. That Was Fun? will feature appearances by follow TikToker and makeup artist Avani Gregg, singer-songwriter Olivia O’Brien, and dancer/actress Maddie Ziegler. The ladies will discuss relationships, family drama, fashion, and music, according to Spotify.

Computer accessories and software maker Logitech has launched a first-of-its-kind awards show called the Song Breaker Awards, which will recognize native TikTok creators who are shaping popular music as we know it.

Hosted by TikTok phenoms Sienna Mae Gomez and Larri 'Larray' Merritt, the event is slated for March 13 at 8 pm Et, streaming live on TikTok -- on Logitech’s channel, as well as Gomez’s and Merritt's. The stream will feature appearances by Lil Nas X and rapper-songwriter 24kGoldn.

The Song Breaker Awards, airing ahead of the Grammys, will recognize creators whose dance challenges, memes, and other TikTok content have made the largest impact. A recent report authored by TikTok, for instance, found that nearly 90 songs that trended on the platform last year climbed the Billboard Top 100 charts, while more than 70 artists who rose to renown on the platform subsequently nabbed major label deals.

TikTok took the opportunity today to address concerns surrounding its nascent Creator Fund, which is expected to pay out $200 million to creators in the U.S. this year -- with the size of the Fund expected to reach $1 billion over the next three years. Globally, the Creator Fund is expected to balloon to $2 billion within that timeframe, the company says.

Avani Gregg -- who, like D’Amelio, has been affiliated with seminal creator collective The Hype House -- will release a memoir that details her childhood in small-town Indiana, as well as how a back injury at 14 that she sustained while competing as a gymnast led her to pursue a career in social media, reports The Hollywood Reportert. The book is being published by Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books, with Gregg also narrating an accompanying audiobook.

Neither the memoir’s title nor release date has been released. It is the second book to be announced in recent weeks by a major TikTok star following Essentially Charli, D’Amelio’s advice and activity book that’s being published by Amulet Books and slated to hit shelves on Dec. 1.
