In 2004, Degrassi: The Next Generation aired what would become their most controversial episode with “Accidents Will Happen,” which premiered in Canada in two parts on January 26 and February 9, 2004. However, the episode would not see the light of day on Degrassi’s U.S. network, The N, for another two years. This sparked outrage among Degrassi fans and confusion among the show’s stars, who couldn’t understand why, out of every sensitive topic Degrassi had touched upon, the storyline in “Accidents Will Happen” was too much for America to handle.

On January 26, 2004, Canadian television drama Degrassi: The Next Generation aired a highly controversial episode. The two-part episode "Accidents Will Happen" centers around young Manny Santos (Cassie Steele), who discovers she is pregnant and feels conflicted about what to do next. Part one of the episode follows as she discovers her pregnancy and weighs her options. With the stomach flu going around, she initially doesn't see her symptoms as anything but that. Still, when her friend Emma (Miriam McDonald) asks why she hasn't had her period, Manny realizes she may be pregnant. After a pregnancy test confirms her suspicions, Manny tells the father, Craig Manning (Jake Epstein), who, to her surprise, supports having a baby.

Confirmed panelists for the reunion include co-creator/executive producer Linda Schuyler, executive producer Stephen Stohn, producer/director/actor Stefan Brogren (Archie “Snake” Simpson) and cast members Aislinn Paul (Clare Edwards), Shane Kippel (Spinner), Luke Bilyk (Drew Torres), Lauren Collins (Paige Michalchuk), Munro Chambers (Eli Goldsworthy), Jake Epstein (Craig Manning), Daniel Clark (Sean Cameron), Andrea Lewis (Hazel Aden) and Christina Schmidt (Terri McGreggor).
